its not about the nm its about manual vs aut. and of course we didnt know the other extras spec of the car. it can happen 50kg different also. nothing to do to the +1hp@@huryburly6025
I was always so curious on why the extra 1hp was so important in this battle, but never managed to find a head-to-head comparison. Thanks for the video!
Peak hp means very little compared to the average hp in the usable powerband of a car. The higher torque figure of the 528 could be telling here depending on how it affects the torque curve. Makes one wonder, why do we care about peak HP so much?
I have manuel 525i and it is faster than this 528i. Yeah 528 has more torque but 525i has a different diff ratio. I have tried with 3 auto 530i and always the same story. Until 140 i can keep up with them. After 140 they are pulling away. But not like a plane.
525 is way heavier than 528.... That is pointless test because both should to be manual, same weight and transmission. You can lift 5spd manual with one hand. Automatic needs lot of muscles.... And automatic power loss have to keep in mind as well. I have 1.6l turbo car and i have exactly similar 3.0 six cylinder N/A version. Both engines have almost same hp (5hp more in 3.0 six) but torque is little bit different. Still 1.6l turbo is faster.... why? Because weight and better torque. If that 525 would be manual with same diff and same weight as 528 is, i think there would not be any difference in performance.
God save us, there is no way on this earth the author of this video could be that dull..... My 2003 525i is actually quicker than 2002 530 automatic........ Like what is wrong with u, seeiously? Gearing is different, differential ratios are different, I bet You anything tire sizes are different.
525i has half of tank of fuel......what fuel? What condition is the air filter in? How old are spark plugs? How many oil leaks? How many vacuum leaks? Absolutely pointless comparison that has ZERO relevance to reality
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DISPLACEMNT. Just different cam setup, more agresive on 328, slightly different gear ratio, different intake maping and presure....etc
528i is manual and 525i is automatic in this video. 525i is slower due to power loss through the torque converter.
@PGear Srbija and has 25% more fuel in the tank
@@CodeEnos Also 2.8 got more midrange power.
The 528 has more NM than the 525 .
It's because the bigger engine.
0,3 Liter more displacement.
And automatic gearbox is heavier than manual, final ratio is different, and much more things we dont know.. wheels? tyres?weather?
528 Manuel 525 steptronic that makes the difference
For all wondering its the torque that makes the difference.245nm for the 525 and 280nm for the 528.
Thanks i was like no way 1 horsepower can do so much😂

Eh, also the gearbox because the 525i is auto in this video
Manual gearbox Vs automatic?
Bigger displacement, higher Torque
528 is manual, 525 is automatic. Not a fair comparison.
I was always so curious on why the extra 1hp was so important in this battle, but never managed to find a head-to-head comparison. Thanks for the video!
Glad I could help!
2.8L vs 2.5L
The extra tourqe helps here in the heavier 5 series
Nm 2.8>2.5 and single vanos📈📈📈
There's also more gasoline in the 525😂
And different acceleration severity levels as occasioned by the rpm.
Its not told if its a Single oder double vanos 28i, makes big diference, the 28i Single vanos often fester then a 530i

528i m52 pr m52tu? It s different motor. More torque m52tu (double vanos)

The 528i has more torque than the 525i .
Or is it a gearbox?!?!
528 i yeah .

@BMW Rampage No no my friend .The 2.5 is a more aggressive engine .
The difference is due the gearbox ! manual for the 2.8 auto for the 2.5...
The 525 is automatic, it's heavier, has more fuel in the tank and 3kg torque less than the 528
There's no replacement for displacement. Unless it's a BIGG turbo.
There isn't turbo in 525i and 528i.Both cars N/A
🤷 528 chip 😮 200+ hp
Plus m52 is alloy so lighter engine compared to the m54
A ver solo es 1 caballo de diferencia pero tendrq mas par
wheel spin makes the difference 👎🏻
Manual vs automatic, traction off vs on... Useless comparison
