Underhanded braiding has always look neater to me. Unfortunately I was taught to braid overhanded and it's a struggle to automatically make that switch.
Sameee. I ended up taking a braiding class and they damn near forced me to learn underhand being that's what they say most ppl use. Omg at first it seemed as if my hands couldn't even adjust but now i got it but im sooo slow ugh !
Agreed. I was taught overhand when i was 4 and have been since. I agree that underhand is neater but it's hard to remember and I'm slow
I used to think it was a left hand thing, because I only braid underhanded. I was taught to braid overhand but naturally went underhand with it because it was more comfortable. I learned that it isn’t. But I cannot braid overhand fast at all.

This method is my favorite! Your hair will NEVER come out the braid! Thats the one issue i always have with braids no matter how much edge control/gel is used eventually my hair gets gangsta and start to come out the braids even when tho i wrap my hair up every night which makes it look old fast.
