- Weird percussive funky riff, and a few other cool things because it's a fretless guitar.

Main riff reminds me of Duane Denison 💕 (The Jesus Lizard, Tomahawk)
🤘
This is so sick
Genial Love it!❤
Thanks a lot!!
Quel talent encore une fois o.o
that means it's time to start thumping
fire song btw
Thank you! The next one will have my new "thump technique". Been working on a way of having the same feel as thumping, but I want to do everything with the pick still in my hand. That way I can transition seemlessly between every kind of technique.
@@ilya_franciosi can't wait to see it
Tbf I can kinda slap a little but can't thump for sh**. Hybrid picking can get a similar effect though!
If you ever figure out how to thump let me know cause I struggle getting the upstrokes
I am working on an alternative to thumping rn. Some of my next videos will feature this technique. And if some people are willing to, I could make a short tuto ;)
Dood, you are OWNING this fretless style.... Up until you, I had only heard Microtone playing on a fretless (which, just really sounds out of tune!), you come up with some really cool riffs, and the way you style it up with the fretless sliding techniques, is breathtaking....! =)
Thanks a lot! Very appreciated! 🙏
It pains me to think about how challenging it must be to keep your fingers trained to the right chords. Is it getting easier? More natural? Or does it feel kind of impractical to play in one take?
Muscle memory is your friend. The more you play, the easier it gets.
Deliciosi as always
Fretless thump would sound insane, you'd be the first to ever do it if you do. I think...
The next vid, or the one in 2 weeks, will have a kind of thumping technique, but with the pick. I want to be able to transition between techniques without having to put the pick in my mouth like Tosin does. It's too limitating imo.
@@ilya_franciosi You could maybe hide it in your palm? I'm not sure if that's faster I'm just thinking out loud
I mean my "thumping technique" will be played with the pick. Whatever how fast players can put the pick somewhere, you can tell by ears that they transitioned to another picking technique. Take people like Andrei Nieri or Tosin Abasi, or even Tim Henson. they have 2 ways of playing : full fingerstyle or with the pick. And the type of riffs/licks they play is different wether they use one playstyle or the other. They can't mix everthing.
I want to be able able to play whatever sound I want without changing my right hand playstyle. That's why I do tapping with both my middle finger and ring finger. I don't understand people that use their index finger to tap for example (like Van Halen or Mattias Eklundh). It's too much useless movements imo.
@@ilya_franciosi Fair enough. I like it, keep it up!
