Good balance between gain, compression and finger pressure. I had the same issue when I started fretless, but with some patience you should find the right setup!

Yes I guess if you have wooden fretboard with epoxy resin, that might be different than with the metal one. Another detail: High string gauge is better. I use 12-54 (with plain G string) but you can even go for higher.

Thanks a lot! Regarding Polyphia, somewhere on my channel, there's an old short of me playing the GOAT riff. But since their riffs are very much full of chords, they're not really suited for fretless. When I have the time, I plan on doing some parts of Chimera tho ;)

Thanks a lot for this comment! That's so cool if my stuff has made you wanna try fretless! Sadly this is a pretty difficult instrument to get. Besides Vigier, I know that Halo guitars can make some, but as always, they are custom made and cost quite a lot... I wish it as more common instrument..

Yeah fretless electric guitars are tough to find, and most of the time they're pretty expensive, since kinda niche instruments. The only other options than Vigier that I came accross were all custom made for about 2000 to 3000 dollars. Sadly I don't know "affordable" options. What are the "too cheap to trust" guitars you've found? I'm curious. I've seen people making conversion from fretted guitars. But I don't know the process, and don't know if it's worth it tho.
