"Do you want me to drive on the sidewalk?" lmao
Maggie Grace is so pretty :) loved her in taken
I feel for her. The few minutes the baby cries in these episodes is killing me
I love how she puts the fire alarm in the fridge.
Throwing the smoke detector in the fridge was a great idea.
She is such an amazing actress.
Another amazing series. you guys rock.
Cool series, Fascinating story and the two leads are great!
I'm in-love !!! Something REAL, to watch !
Anna Paquin is such a good actress it's almost freaky
Anna Paquin is an amazing actress
Maggie Grace Is Gorgeous!!! She Looks Very Good In Glasses !
That's actually a very normal recomendation to family members of people who want to hurt themselves. As an ER nurse I get suicidal patient's all the time. When they come through the ER they get placed in an environment where they are watched and protected from harming themselves until they can either be evaluated by a psychiatrist and either deemed that they are competent enough to return home or if they need inpatient treatment.
When my first was born, I felt that way as well.
OMG That baby's cry is so nerve shattering! I couldn't take it
That's true; I think that's what makes Katie's predicament so distressing, and why I wrote that "being held" (or really any physical comfort) does not comfort the baby. When a baby is not comforted by (or is even more upset by) the biological mother, that's when surrogate maternal sources become necessary, and when the mother should also get her own kind of support. What we're seeing is unfortunately not a case in which a mother's touch, in any form, is helping matters.
I am loving this one
I feel this mother's pain, even though this is a show! I was just discharged from a behavioral unit on May 5th due to feeling EXACTLY like this! It is hard to deal with screaming babies!! I've had 2 colic ones now with both having medical problems!! I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety, major depression, and postpartum psychosis. I feel your pain.
If you guys are talking about the rap song that Susanna turns off, it is called Make it happen and it is by Xzibit
I had a touch of postpartum depression after I had my daughter. Never to that extent, but I was more weepy and anxious. Dangerous SSRI medications are about the worst thing you can do for it though. Rest, exercise, healthy food, and support from friends and family is a safer option. For more severe cases, hormonal supplementation is helpful.
In the first episode it was stated by the character Susana that her sister always suffered from mental illness, was taking Prozac and had to stop due to the pregnancy. Her bizarre behavior and inability to effectively 'mother' her child is related to that issue. The baby is merely responding to her mother's emotional status; that's why she is inconsolable.
The crux of it is - the baby is not responding to her. So anything the mother offers her, whether it's being held or being given any kind of liquid, does not comfort her. Like Katie told Susannah, the baby won't "respond" (that is, positively) to her. There's usually an adjustment period with babies anyway, but Katie's compulsions /depression practically radiate distress that only increases with her baby's own distress - like a vicious cycle. I can see how she hasn't drunk or eaten by now :(
I can honestly say that "playing with her, try and do other things" isnt always enough... i was there 8 months ago... First time mom... History of depression... In my mind i thought he wasnt mine. he didnt feel like he was mine... Hes 8 months old and i couldnt be more in love, but back then.. Feeling the way i did, i know it wasny my fault.... but i feel so ashamed anyway.
did anybody else see the welp on the back of the baby's head when Katie picked her up?
Thanks. I see your point. I think you're right, there isn't anything she is able to do to comfort the baby. I can't imagine how that would make her feel. More depressed and anxious I would think. And she doesn't need that. She needs help for her and the baby. So she can feel better about herself and project that onto the baby.
The song at 5:02 is:
Make It Happen"
Composed by: Xzibit
Courtsey of : Extreme Music
~it stated it in the info, thats how i knew :p
thats EXACTLY what i was thinking!
Oh, sure! Whatever you say ma'am.
I know I don't appreciate nonsense.....but yet here I am reading yours now.
That is terrible. I am so sorry yo and your mother had to go through that. I understand the OCD. And I can only imagine how hard that must be. Hope your mother has found a way to deal with the OCD and can live a happy life.
It's a hemangioma or strawberry, which is a build up of blood vessels, it usually starts to go away by a year and Becca's is already about half the size it was when this filmed.
There was a woman that had twins, I don't remember where, she ended up throwing herself into the river near her village. PPD is horrible, I had pretty badly when I had my son. I eventually got over it with alot of support and help from my family.
haha i was thinking that all through ep 1 -_-
under such complex circumstances, i'd lose it for good!
omigod it drove me CRAZY when they kept trying to call eachother...
This show is amazing!!!
Good so far
its like i just watched something a minute long. make the episodes longer pleasse
I thought that baby would never shutup. I was just about to give up
"you want me to drive on the sidewalk?"
This stuff is so interesting
seems to be several things going on within this drama.. i believe that bringing awareness is always a good thing & these wigs mini series seem to be doing just that :) cheers
Was this series made before or after Anna had her twins? If it was made after she certainly looks great.
I didn't suffer from OCD at a manic level..but i do remember wanted everything to be so perfect with my first.. the aesthetics of it all meant too much..What a waste of time... By the second child you are so much more relaxed...You just go with the flow.. It's too bad the first has to endure you're inexperience and insecurities..
OCD is manic levels of anxiety..and then spiraling depression.
"Make it happen" - Xzibit and Demrick ft. Brevi - its written in the information ;)
There are crisis lines for parents in similar situations.
Good stuff
Conveniently the baby isnt crying when that music is blasting and the fucking fire alarm is going off. Maybe the baby just hates silence and loves to make you cry.
Katie really needs to invest in some good earplugs
These Wigs episodes are too short!
I think that Maggie Grace would portray a Good Karen Barclay in a Child's Play remake!
I'd want her to.look like this here in it
is this full series ?
Feeding a baby is not the only thing that will comfort her. I understand that the mother is ill and has issues, but she seems relatively calm. She should try to hold the baby, or sway her back and forth. Just a mothers touch can sometimes sooth an upset baby.
Are these episodes really 10mins long?
well, considering it looks as if she is not only suffering with Postpardum, she is also dealing with what looks like depression and OCD, I'm not surprised she threw the breastmilk out.
Jessica Bardi- I respectfully disagree with you regarding adoption and PPD. As a masters level social worker I've counseled adoptive moms who absolutely were suffering PPD. Additionally PPD in adoptive moms can actually be more intense and last longer that a bio mom. So any adoptive moms out there who are suffering and may not know why hear this: you can suffer PPD also, so please get help if you suspect u r.
What's the song in the end? please somebody write the title
is this the same srt for blues apartment
Does anyone know the name of the second song that she puts on in this episode?
This series sucked me in by the first episode; this is amazing
Eric Northman knocked up Sookie Stackouse, who became OCD, and Irina Denali is her sister. Haha
Some babies stop crying with loud noises or "white noises" . Strange but real.
You'll find it the description if you scroll down.
Yes. It was rather painful.
Can someone tell me what song was playing? Thanks
Or rap!! lol!
Yes, the do. Water and diluted juice....depending on the age. My kids are all much younger than 20 and I remember that it was not only recommended but insisted upon. Babies get dehydrated way to easily. Especially with how hot it has been in the summer time where I live.
why the video soo short ??
"In rare cases, a baby who drinks too much water can develop a condition ... a baby under 6 months should not have more than 1 or 2 oz of water" Does not say babies under a certain age CAN"T have it. Just not too much.
Can someone please explain to me what ppd is? Do all moms go through it? D:
Hold your baby!! Sheesh.
i was thinking the same thing
How do they keep the baby crying? Did they pinch it or something?
I'm so nervous about what will happen with the baby D:
Personally - I think that the baby wont drink the milk and stop crying because of the smell of the hand sanitizer... plus if she does all that to keep clean, the milk could have left over wash in it from her body as well if she cleans everything like she does her hands.... just my thoughts.
What was behind the baby's head at 3:55
Actually, there is something called Post- Adoption Depression. I don't know much about it, but you can research it
Did you guys use Anna Paquin's real daughter in the series?
Guys keep thee comments productive.
Xzibit and Demrick ft. Brevi - Make it happen
at 3:55 it looks like there's a knot/bruise on the back of her head. What is that?!
Did you watch the first episode?
what was that red blemish on the back of the baby's head??
same set aka blues apartment
Just take the phone off freaking vibrate! Omg!
has the thought of maybe a diaper change cross the mind?
Not in the area of NASW
I was fortunate my child did not have colic...I would be depressed going through this too
she should have just gotten out of the taxi if it wasn't moving
What an amazing culmination of all of the most annoying sounds to the human ear!
What was on the baby's head
POOR BABY HOW CAN MOMS DO IT???
in the dark ages we lived in groups.. elders helping out... experience and wisdom...now we house them in high rises and make them play bingo...all that experience and wisdom wasted...
It's a loop of a baby crying. The baby probably only cried for a short period of time so they only show when she actually does.
What's the song at 5:03???
What is the song at 5:13?!?!?!?
A good thing
Me too! I was about to lose it listening to that incessant crying.Would drive me nuts.
That is the worst psychiatrist/therapist and disgusting recommendation to a family member is one plan on hurting themselves or others
I agree she feels her mother's tension.. the baby needs to be coddled and cooed even more than fed. When she feels safe she will eat..The mother needs Prozac. Underneath that manic anxiety is a low feeling of self worth.
