Let's plant some roses! I am so excited to share with y'all 7 new rose varieties that I purchased from David Austins website. There are so many beautiful highly fragrant roses that we are unboxing and talking about today. The new landscaping bed is basically a brand new rose garden by our house. Some roses are shrub roses in your traditional bush growing habit and some are climbing. I picked lots of full and cupped roses with strong fragrances and in different colors. I tried to restrain myself to a specific color range for this gardening bed.

It's doubled in size with 3 buds planted up in a pot south faceing garden in Cleethorpes north east Lincolnshire UK.

Ohhh that is so exciting!! I am really looking forward to seeing it bloom for the first time. Have you ever seen it bloom in person?
@@bluebirdhomestead yes. The first year the blooms are nothing to write home about BUT the 2nd year is when they really start getting into their stride. I think it’s because they are more established and can draw a greater amount of nutrients and water. The bare roots bloom much better the first year than the potted own roots because they are older plants.
I also ordered 2 Wollerton Old Hall roses (bare root from DA) I’m going to train along my wrought iron gate in the back yard.

Most of the roses I purchased are actually OWN root roses! David Austin’s website says the ones that are grafted use Dr. Huey as the root stock. 😊 -Cara
