Pig Enclosure & Easy (+ FREE) DIY Watering Trough

It’s time to get the pigs outside!
We are finally putting the metal enclosure to use! We had got excited and had it set up for months now thinking the pigs would be outside from the day they arrived here 🤦🏼‍♀️
Being the first time we raised pigs we had no idea what we were thinking 😂 The pigs ended up being inside for about 8 weeks until the weather was good enough to move them outside.
We decided on this “pig tractor” because we wanted something secure , something we could move to isolate the areas we want rolled up by them and the main reason… IT WAS MATERIAL WE HAD ALREADY!!
Our goal is always to do projects for FREE or VERY LOW BUDGET!! This metal cage has been a goat pen, chicken pen, used to sift soil/seperate rocks and the original use was sides on a trailer so it’s been used and reused may times for many projects! And I’m sure it will have many more uses in it!
After a few days of hauling water and having them spill it within minutes we had to come up with something to make that chore easier….off to the material pile to see what we can come up with!

Oh noooooo! I wonder why they aren’t into them?! I found the nipples messy in the barn but outside they are great

@farmtroverts oh that may be it! Darn! Hubby said he’s been told that it’s important to have the nipples at the heights the pigs are currently at when you introduce the nipples and to introduce them by holding down the nipple for them and letting the water flow, they will get curious and start to poke around them trying to get the water!! Might be worth a try!
