Worked great on my 2007 f150 with the 4.6 engine. No belt slipping issues and the alternator is working as it should after a few weeks or driving. Thanks for taking the time to make the video for us!
I did this mod on my 2005 Expedition 5.4 engine….worked perfectly. Thank you so much! A little over 40 bucks for both parts at Autozone, the 231051 pulley and 840K6 belt. Make sure the pulley is seated all the way and in-line with the other pulleys. 👍☺️
Good video and it definitely it did help, but there’s something I will add. In my case I have an 07 f150 5.4 Triton. I did everything the same beside the last step. In my case I did the alternator last with the tensioner. Get everything else routed and then with the tensioner fully swung to the right (while facing the truck) slide the belt over the alternator. I tried doing the way you describe but I found this way much easier.
Just coming to say that I watched this video last night, did exactly what he did in the video, and everything works as said. Ran it for about 20 mins than 10 mins of test driving, check battery voltage and was good.
Ok so ive went to the smaller pulley and 840k6 belt it fits but I got a squeak and my belt gets ripped off im 100% sure i installed everything correctly where did i go wrong? And the squeak sounds like its coming from the alternator
This is the right fix! Thanks Bud! I did this on my 2005 F150. The 75mm 6 groove pulley #36100 is correct with the 84" belt #840K6. I watched a lot of other videos and bought a few different size belts for the job and this is the best set up...Works great and total cost at Napa was about a 100 bucks... 👍😎
@@WeUx6 which size did they say on the video? I have been watching vids all damn day and get different sizes for my 04 5.4 f150? I have heard 840k6, 780k6, 785k6
I used this solution on a 2004 Ford Expedition 5.4. My oem belt burned and broke after the AC pulley seized. Used with the Duralast parts. Got a squeal on start that dissipates on cold start after it warms up. Comes back on acceleration but goes away while moving. The squeal is constant in rain but always quiets at idle. I’m stumped. Any ideas?
This is what I came here to learn. I had ford truck where you only had to change the belt and some routing. I ordered the no AC belt for this truck and could not figure out what I was doing wrong. I had a used grooved idler from the other side and could not make it work. Will go find a 75mm tomorrow.
@@travismiller4614 ok i can say this. ive now done the mod. 2 9 2022 this is what i have. 03 f150 4.6. now on the front of this motor. is 2 idle pulley post. one on right bank of cyl and one on left. the right one wasnt there for our motor. i got the 70mm 6 grove pulley. the 79.5 belt. i replaced the left pulley above the tensorer. the none groved or flat pulley.. i did have to snap the lil tab off on the tensorer. under the top bolt . there is 3 bolts. its the top bolt of the 3.. looking at tensorer. its the right tab.. why? i could not get enough throw to get the 79.5 inch belt on.. if i have to replace belt down road. i might try the 80. might not have to break tab on tensorer with the 80 inch belt. iam 90% sure 80 wouldnt be a issue. 70mm pulley no grinding was needed for me..

Just did my 2007 f150 works great and I appreciate your clarity in the video
Worked great, truck up and running, thanks for posting.
Worked great on the 05 Navigator. Thanks bro!
Thank you for a straightforward video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙂
Thanks! This made it super easy! Thanks for providing the part numbers!
You sure did save my ass as well. Thank you sir for this knowledge you were so kind to share. You knew what you were talking about!!!!
You just saved me a hassle! Thanks man
Man, thank you! Part numbers and everything went smooth as shit! Thank you so much for making this video!
So very helpful, thank you.
I used the 835k6 belt, it’s a tighter fit.
850k6 was a little loose but still worked.
So this belt is better than the 840k6
@davidray5396 any issues ?
@@jesusgarduno8037 no issues. Thanks

Awesome buddy. This set uo work on the 2006 Ford Expedition 5.4 Durlast parts number from Auto zone pully part number 231051,belt part number 840K6
Great content by the way!
Thank you for saying part number 👍
Man thank you for this
You helped me out alot thanks
Thanks. Very helpful
Yep worked perfectly on my 2008 4.6
Thanks for the fix works great
Thanks this worked perfect for me

Man this is my exact problem with 04 f150 5.4L
So are u taking the compressor out of the system?
Any reason you didn’t route it the way the diagram shows to bypass??
I did it the way he did it and no issues at all. I could see how you would get the belt on that side of the tensioner pulley.
I bypassed ac without having to buy any pulley just need a diff size belt an there is to diff ways you can run it but it’s 2 diff size belts
Hell ya thx bro works on my 2006 5.4
So you have to change the pulley as well. I saw where another guy said you don’t have to change the pulley just the belt to 780k6
This is what I came here to learn. I had ford truck where you only had to change the belt and some routing. I ordered the no AC belt for this truck and could not figure out what I was doing wrong. The pulley take all but 30 seconds to remove. You would save a few bucks would likely be the only benefit.
So much easier than fords way. Worth the extra $20
Scratch that, not enough pull on the alternator. first trip I made, boom dead batyery
@@Duddylee I just had this same problem. Did you ever find a way to get enough pull on the alternator?
they do make the pully for AC bypass. but i like this idea. but the videos ive seen so far. are 3 diff belt sizes.. 79.5 80.5 and 84... wtf ....
This is my problem no one is saying the same belt size

pulley part number from advanced auto... 89015 ... or 231015 autozone. 70mm pulley ...
@@travismiller4614 also i think the 84 inch belt is not changing the flat pulley. that guy in another vid said he got 2 years still worked good.
