This gun arrived today from Amazon. After having to use a pair of Knipex pliers to loosen the air knob, I successfully sprayed a pint of acetone through the gun at 20 psi. I like the look, feel and function of this LVLP spray gun.
If you leave the last 3"-4" of your blend panel free of clear coat on your 1st coat of clear & then do a full wet final coat of clear - You'll dramatically cut down the optical color change from panel to panel....

Woo! I paused the video after 10 seconds to go buy the A610 🤙🏽 Been on the fence about which one to get and pulled the trigger on this one. Got it with 1.3, 1.7 and 1.4 tips. Now to wait til April for it to arrive. Should be more than enough time to forget I ordered it so it’s a complete surprise when it shows up :) Thank you for the CONTINUED content to help the DIY
@@GarageNoise I clicked the link in bio and it was still sold out. I used AliExpress and they had plenty in stock. Just takes a bit longer than Amazon to ship
OK, so I just looked at AliExpress two minutes ago. They have changed the product listing page yet AGAIN. Now they do have the option of purchasing the gun and all of the tip sizes, as well as mixing and matching. This has changed since I ordered my gun two weeks ago, when the product listing showed only one tip included with the kit.
They look like a copy of the Iwata Bellaria which I absolutely love in 1.3 dedicated clear gun. I'm a Devillbis fan going back years and have 3 pro lites and 2 flg 5's one in 1.4 and the other in 1.8 dedicated primer gun. Great video mate. Hello from Australia 🇦🇺
Thank U Sir for showing us the distance & the right speed for spraying to make that Optimum Gloss Touch. I love the video & teaching. I learnt a lot just by watching & hearing your clear instructions.
I really like this gun. I've tried several affordable DIY guns and so far this one hard to beat. Sprays and atomizes very well. Nice wide and even fan. I have a Devilbiss FLG5 and it's a nice gun but it cost me a little over $200 and it's got an air leak in the air valve. A rebuild kit is gonna cost $60-70 shipped from the UK. It's also got a seal that wears out on the fluid nozzle. The aeropro doesn't have a seal on the nozzle and the other seals are easily replaceable rubber o rings found at the hardware store. Makes it easy and affordable to service. Great gun for the DIY painter
Couldn't agree more brother! I can't say it enough on the channel and it help everyone in the community to hear it from painters who use this gun. Appreciate the comment and support!
@jaefousable The Flg atomizes really well. It's a good clear gun. Lays out plenty of material nice and flat at 30-35psi. It's a good primer gun too if you have a 1.8 tip. I don't care for it too much for metallics but it will lay them out fine if you do your part. Either gun will do the job
I bought the Spray-It version about a year ago. I have used it a couple times. I got a very lumpy (like sharkskin) finish with the 1.5 tip and some epoxy primer. I think it was all technique issues, though. The gun seems to work well and is easy to clean. Low overspray. No problems with harbor freight 29 gallon compressor.
Great Vid and great results! Really smooth! This vid was a starter for me. I started with HVLP in the garage, prep was fine, base coat was ok and once I started with the clear coat I was standing "in the fog" and learned about advantages of a spray booth. Result was rough finish and orange peel. Now I do own an R500, A610 as well as an LT100 and changed my approach a kind of completely. Prep is the major part still, but the LVLP techique with reduced overspray and pressure is the reason why my complete car paint is competitive and worked out well. Thanks for the key fact with changing the speed without the settings...it is a key! Once the settings are fine, they will stay fine and from then on speed will make the difference! Cheers and thanks a lot!
Hey, frst off, you're a great teacher. Watched numerous vids you've published. You have given me the confidence to move forward and pain my grand cherokee. Starting with the bumper covers. The lvlp guns are for me. The question i have is for the compressor. I have a dewalt with a 4.5 tank. It produces 5 cfm. Also it can produce 200+psi. Will this be adequate? Can't afford a new compressor at this time. Later is a definite possibility. Will it get me through the bumper covers? Also would adding an oil/water seperator and a second regulator to the compressor help? Thanks for your dedication to the diy-er.
I have taken your advise and purchased a R500. I have been painting at a shop with a low CFM compressor. The compressor is having a tough time keeping up to my regular 10 - CFM guns. Should be here soon so I can give it a try. Thanks for your informative utube site.
Hi, I just wanted to ask a question..I just picked up a harbor freight touch up gun with a 0.8 mm tip. I would assume with the smaller tip I will need to add additional reducer to the sealer, base, and clear to be able to spray through smaller tip. Would you agree...
I have some videos on dark metallics. Not difficult, the light metallics can be difficult. Check out the videos on blending. Appreciate the comment and support!
Used this gun with the 1.7 tip I believe and ran my high build urethane was not a big deal but with some adjustments it lasted paint out nice just a little this most likely operator error
I wanted to like this gun but I had nothing but trouble with it as a beginner. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Firstly the vent clogged after primer, didn't realize (again beginner) messed up my first base coat. Secondly I clean the entire thing very well again, tried again, and towards the front of the gun the nut with the needle seal apparently was loose and slightly leaking which also caused a slight leak in the system and inconsistent spraying. My harbor freight gun gave me zero troubles. I have a hard time recommending this unless you know exactly what you're doing and how to check everything on the gun (I thought I did but apparently there were some little things that I missed). It sprays decent when it's all working, but overall it's pretty cheap and out of the box needed significant maintenance.
Sometimes you have those days where everything goes wrong. I've had my share don't give up on it too quick, you sort out the bugs and you may change your mind or you might not .
@@GarageNoise one of the seals got messed up too, may try out an atom gun. Got great results with my harbor freight gun. Was discouraged but not defeated as overall my project turned out fantastic given the challenges and willing to further invest in better equipment. I'm excited to paint another day! Thanks for the videos, hopefully my initial comment didn't come off too negative, was just frustrated in the moment.
@@GarageNoise can this gun be used with a 80gallon 2 stage compressor. if so what psi setting or is it strictly for small compressors. I need a dedicated clear coat gun
I’m just a bit confused about the adapter for the paint cups….for the disposable paint cups you use, could you go over the adapter again??? (Total beginner)
Thanks for doing these gun reviews Chris as it helps the hobby painters out there like me, I'm lucky enough to have a decent compressor that can run most guns plus my air fed mask in my homemade booth. I would like to see the video you mentioned about how changing your gun speed and distance can alter the way it sprays, I think it would be very interesting, many thanks👌👌👍John UK
Your welcome! I appreciate all the support. I think I will make that video. I believe it will be helpful for the community. Its amazing by what can be done with just a few simple tweaks of spraying techniques.
@@GarageNoisehi i see this gun make a great work but i see its little slow , did u have full open material ? May be i need order 1.5 for faster spray panels ?🤔
Thanks for the information. I am getting ready to paint my bike but was not sure which one of my guns to use, I am a DIY, and this gun looks like it is perfect for what I want. Just purchased it through your link. I do a lot of small paint repairs on my cars but getting paint where I live is getting hard. The oreilly auto parts out here do not sell paint because of shipping restrictions. I plan to watch all you video's, good luck.
Can you make a video or provide more details below how did you get Nason mix and match your car exact color and how much more does this cost vs factory paint? This is most crucial part of painting the car hehe. Thank you kindly in advance.
Yes I can, Oreillys mixes it to the factory code on the car. I can certainly include the process of checking the colo. Appreciate the comment and support!
.26 I am repairing and painting a waverunner and have really found your videos helpful. My question is this… After applying the second layer of paint I have some dust and bugs that got caught in the paint. My understanding from a video is that you cannot sand at this point even with a very fine (3000) wet sanding. Is this accurate? If sanding at this point is not an option, what do you suggest? Great job on the videos and thanks for your help. This - for a 75 year old - has certainly been a challenging and interesting project. I’m almost done thanks to you.
Depends what paint your using. Is it basecoat clearcoat or a single stage? If it's base and then clearcoat. You can lightly sand out imperfections with a fine sandpaper like 800 or 2000 and then apply another coat of base and clear.
Thank you for this video. Quick question. I’m going to be getting a smaller 20-30 gallon compressor and this gun. I plan on painting my car in the garage. I was wondering if you could show us the setup you use for moisture containing? Or maybe you already have a video and I missed it. I’m basically trying to find out what all I need for a garage setup without spending a ton. Thanks.
I have oil and water separator with dessicant beads that I change every time I paint.I have about 20 feet of line with two drain vales before the separator. Water trap at the gun. Here's a link to my separator. This is the one I use amzn.to/40Mdlyc
Love your videos, you bring back my passion for doing these jobs at home. Question in regards to a single stage paint, what psi would you recommend. I have never sprayed using a LVLP sprayer before. Thank you
Has anything new came out that better for small compressors I’m looking for any info I’m ready to buy a gun now I’m going to be spraying base clear on a full truck
Hi there, great vid , convincing me to get one as well for my car repaint! Would you happen to know if the tips from my FLG4 would fit in this gun or the r500? Thanks
This looks like a good start up kit for anyone at home with a smaller compressor. I just bought a Devilbiss Pro lite t110 for clear and with the other guns I have, i'm calling it good. But I still like seeing gun demos👍
The Devilbiss pro lite is an awesome gun. Since your not concerned about air I'd say your good. Although I have guns that spay a bit better and still use this R500. Appreciate the support!
Would the 4" @30psi work with enamel paint as well? Do you have any videos of you laying enamel down with LVLP Aeropro gun? Looking for experienced advice for mixing ratios of Rustoleum enamel as well, thanks!
Enjoyed a video yesterday and here again today I just subscribed. You are very clear in explaining things and what you explain is very informative. It is cool that I have an R500 and also the very same clear! I realized you never said anything about the a610 in use, other than calling it an R500, so I guess it really is the same- which you expected. I'm also amazed that the upol clear did not run spraying so close like that. I can't wait to practice this stuff when Spring comes around.
Good review. I have the Summit R500 which is the same as the sprayit gun. Correct me if I'm wrong but reading your comments and watching the video does this sound right for a starting point, epoxy primer w/ 1.7 tip at 15-20 psi- Base w/1.3 tip at 15-20 psi and clear w/1.3 at 30 psi? Base is a metallic if that matters.
Love your videos...I wanted to ask if you knew where I can order California compliant paint...I want to paint my 2000 gt mustang with the original white base clear. Would love your recommendations..also would you recommend water or solvent base...thanks
I know some guys say break Em down. Remove some of the excess grease, Or lubricant that'sin them I never have and have never had an issue with it. When I get them out of the box. I just clean them like I normally. Would you and go ahead and spray them with them. I get them out of the box. I just clean them like I normal and go ahead and spray with them?Appreciate the comment and support
If you check out several of my painting video's on clearcoat I explain it. My video this Wednesday will also go into a detailed explanation. I think it will be helpful. Appreciate the comment and support brother!
The Aero Pro A 610 is an excellent all round gun. I can spray primer, base coat, flake and 2k clear out of the same gun. Can use my 26 gallon two stage compressor without any pressure drop. Uses half the volume of paint than a HVLP. I paint motorcycle parts so the equipment i have works very well for the applications i use it for.
I have a small ding in the rear center bumper 2019 Acura RDX .. can the body shop fill that small ding and paint just the center section of the bumper and properly blend it? Or will the entire bumper need painted to look correct? Love your channel.
Yes they should be able to fill it blend the color but to do it properly the entire bumper needs to be cleared with all components removed. So essentially the entire bumper is being painted. Thanks for watching, appreciate the comment and support!
I would love see a video dedicated to clear coat techniques. I tried using your settings for Upol 2882 and ended up with horrible runs that I couldn’t get out. I now have to recoat with base and try doing clear coat again. I also had so much overspray from the gun that the whole garage was a haze at 30psi.
Oh no! I've got to make that video. Remember your distance and speed as well. Typically runs are from speed. I say typically cause other thing can cause it. Also what was you fluid at? I'm spraying 3 turns out from closed. Do a test and experiment with your air, fluid, speed and distance. Get a feel for how the effect each other. Appreciate the comment and support!
I was doing three turns out from closed with the trigger squeezed in all the way. I am using the spray it 33000 as well. I have never painted before this project and using your tips I have been able to paint the primer and base coat without a single issue so I owe you a lot of credit. Thank you for the advice again.
Hello, They make a hvlp version of this gun. I'm going to be painting a full sized pick up two tone with one of the colors being metalic ( 2 stage urathane ) in my garage. I do have a big 60 gallon compressor. But don't like overspray either LOL. Do you think the lvlp gun will put out enough volume to keep a wet edge on the large hood and panels. I would like to buy the lvlp gun, But have only seen you do repair jobs with it. Do you think it is ok for complete car or truck paint jobs. Thanks Rob..........
Its really have small air consumption about 3-4cfm for real use? Like mini spray gun? If thats true, can i work with 1 or 1,5 hp compressor??? Interested
So it claims 4-5 cfm's I have no way of knowing for sure but I compare it to my other guns that use 10cfms and the overspray that's produced and materials used is noticeably less. So I know it's lower air consumption. I haven't used it on a small compressor but have seen it used on a 20 gallon harbor freight compressor that produces 6cfms and it painted a whole car with no trouble. Check out youtube.com/@UndergroundPaintKing?si=P7rZ6HDQL6fw8SRB He hase used it with a 20 gallon compressor. A pancake compressor will likely be to small.
Hi Chris, Loves your videos. I bought the R500 after watching your videos. I have many guns but wanted to try a LVLP. For some reason it sprays terrible with the setup you suggest. If you look at the atomizer cap it has paint all over it. I'm wondering if there is an oring missing from the where the cap attaches to the gun. With on HVLP if the cap isn't screwed down tight you get the same result. Is there a rubber oring between the cap and the gun? I cannot tighten the cap any tighter.. Thanks
Sir....I just wanted to repaint my bumper... starting with 180 or 320 sand paper,clean..after that spray primer right.... hopefully you can answer sir.. thank you...🥰
I recently found your channel, and I like what I am seeing, however I'm looking through your videos for some guidance on getting rid of the trash and nibs after your done, do you show that?
I do but it's typically in with the wet sanding video. I have one coming out tomorrow or Sunday where I show how to remove a run it's the same procedure . Welcome to the channel I appreciate the support!
i would like to learn to paint my own small projects like moldings flares or rust repair can i use this gun with a 60 gallon 6HP standing compressor with a 3 stage air dryer in my garage or do i need a different gun? thanks for your videos i subscribed and learning a lot been a Mechanic for 30 years
Do you have a soft edge or hard line? If it's a soft edge I would sand with 2000 , don't try to sand it totally smooth. Then sand with 3000 , I would the sand with 5000 and buff using a lite compound. 5000 is optional. If it's a hard line same process but just understand you won't get it totally removed and you don't want to try cause you'll probably sand thru the clear. Hope this helps! Appreciate the comment and support!
Found this gun to be great but I do have problems getting a good gloss with Acrylic clear, also seem to get a fair bit of over spray ,is there different settings for Acrylic? maybe a bigger tip? any tips would be welcome.
yes 1.3 @28 psi, I sort of got a shine from the clear now, had to slow down the gun speed bordering on the edge of runs, Acrylic just does not shine like 2k by the looks, so a lot of rubbing and polishing coming up thanks for reply@@GarageNoise
Yes, but thesebare just guidelines if you need to make adjustments do it, experiment with what feels right for you and the conditions your spraying in. Primer is sprayed like base coat. Appreciate your comment and support!
Thank you for your video. I recently purchased the R500 from Amazon but having a problem changing nozzles. I'm a newbie, but my understanding is when changing the nozzles you have to change the needle with it. Any suggestion on how to remove the needle on the R500 would be appreciated, I Can't find anything on how to break it down for cleaning or moving from one tip to the other either on line or from the shipped user manual. Thank you again. I think a video on a borrowing but necessary topic for cleaning or changing tips would be appreciated by many.
Unscrew the fluid adjustment remove spring an the you can pull out the needle towards the rear of the gun. Remove cap and the fluid tip. Probably should do a short on that. Appreciate the comment and support!
If the fluid tip is on really tight from factory use a socket set to crack it loose (not the little gun spanner in the kit). When reinstalling the fluit tip you can then use the spray gun spanner to nip it up firm, then re-instal the needle and last the air-cap
I have video's where I use this same gun different brand with a 26-gallon compressor that produces 4.5 @90psi and it does fine.ua-cam.com/video/IIKLu8dOnuA/v-deo.htmlsi=QAXl5OctbadfTrvQ
Hi Chris, i saw ur 2 year old astro evot review video but then i recently saw this a610 review video. Im looking to buy a sprsy gun.. does this a610 spray better then the astro? How does it conpare? Hopefully you can shed some light on this thanks
Evot is a great gun, provided you have a large enough compressor. It produces a slightly better finish but I believe the benefits of low overspray and reduced material consumption of the a610 or r500 outweigh the slightly better finish of the evot.
Thank you for making these videos I’m about to try my hand at painting my motorcycle project they’ve been super helpful, I was looking at the 1.0cup system you suggested but not sure the size you recommend , is it the 13.5 oz size? Also what is that digital regulator you use on your guns ? Thank you and please keep up the great videos 👍🏼
If your just doing motorcycle parts you could use small cup sizes. 13.5 would be fine. Yes that is a digital regulator that I purchased at harbor freight, I don't think they sell them anymore but offer others for sale. Appreciate your comment and support!
Im not gonna Lie, when i was 22 and didnt know Sh_t. I tried to Paint a '65 Mustang w/ a HVLP Sprayer that required 14cfm w/ a little Porter Cable pancake compressor. I killed the compressor and made very nice Orange Peel everywhere! Lol! Where was this Gun in 2000???
@GarageNoise I noticed through the light reflection there was orange peel everywhere. Didn't look heavy but notice the edges of the light lumpy. Is that normal cause of the brand of clear. I know you have alot of expertise so if that's normal than I'll understand if it happens to me. Cause I've seen other videos where they lay it like glass from the start
can you recoomend a "step up"above this gun. I do have a 20 gallon cmoressor runs between 5-7 cfm. So low. Also if you coukf recommend a decent air refulator as well.? Thank you so much!😂
Been looking at the A610 /R500 for a while as an upgrade from a pile of HF purple guns laying around my garage. What adapter works with the A610 and the SprayIQ cup system? Thanks.
Looking to replace my HF $15 spray gun should I get the A610 with the 3 tips or the R 500 and purchase the 1.7 tip and the 1.5 tip at $25.00 each, what gun has less problems and smother trigger? Thanks Doug
I haven't had an issue with Ethier trigger. They spray the same, Id say get the one that's the best value, the extra needle sets are nice to have. The a610 doesn't have a mark on the fluid adjustment knob , it's a little annoying is all. Hope this helps!
Yes but, I have been bumping up my base coat psi to 20 lately. Remember these are guidelines so use the pressure that works well for you, other variables my effect how you want to set up your gun. Appreciate the comment and support!
I bought this gun and im really trying to like it but im getting runs every time 😂i changed my speed cut back on fluid tried about everything i could but nothing changes im wondering if the clear coat im using is the issue ive also noticed that the fan size is kinda small for me u gotta open the fluid all the way in order to get a bigger size fan i find the astro EVOT 13 sprays much easier than this gun
I got 2 0t these A610 500s I have painted before it's been a while does this gun need cleaned before u use it for the 1st time? I'm gonna use 1 for my basecoat and the other for my clear coat I'm using Nason to paint my scion xb 1d2 thunder cloud metallic base and the uv Nason clear.but I've seen some other videos saying they have grease in them that could come out during yre paint job ?? @Garage Noise curious to get your opinion, right now I'm using the Harbor Freight McGraw 21 gallon compressor rated at 4 CFM. I'm really torn between something like this R500, the 3M Performance kit, or the DV1 Base gun. In the future I'll have a stronger air system but for now I just wonder if I could get the good results boasted with a DV1 in my current setup (or if it would be a waste of money)? I'd been using the Harbor Freight green and grey guns that only work well for 3-5 paint jobs but don't spray so well anymore which have helped entice the runs in my jobs.. :/ I always break down and clean my guns. What would you recommend works now and future facing between these options?
I don't think you have enough air for the Dv1. I would say get an R500 it's cheap like 65 bucks and you might be able to find it cheaper. Then when you upgrade your air you can always get a Dv1 and still have a the r500 that can be uses for base or primer.
@@kseries20-24only not enough air for a DV1 you need the AeroPro A-610 LVLP gun if not the AeroPro the Spray it R-500 or another LVLP Gun The compressor you have will do poorly with an HVLP gun or a syphon feed gun.
I don't think I would start with the scan tool. Not all scan tools are that accurate. I hear a lot of complaints from other painters. I would talk to your local paint supplier and see what they recommend. Appreciate the comment and all the support! Hope this helps.
Buff the paint and clean it well before finding a color variant.... Don't rely on the cameras - sometimes they're way off... But a solid paint rep will know how to get a variant and custom tint from there.. Most times your first 2 primary mixing toner colors can be pushed up or down 5% at a time...
If you dont own any spray gun, this is a good starter kit, additional needle sets are great, price is good. I returned mine because the holes on the air horn were misaligned. Haven't used it but it bothers me. I already have the LT100 and Summitracing lvlp so i dont really need this gun. It is a good deal though with the additional needle sets. The seal behind the trigger is a bushing making it gritty, older R500 are oring that feels smoother. Weight are about the same, newer is slightly lighter. Aircaps are interchangable, but the needles doesn't have engraving on them to identify size. The older r500 needles are engraved with size. First stage of trigger is very short, you might accidently pull too hard and make paint come out when you try to use just air.
How are you setting your pressure, you said 30 psi with the clear and 15 with the base coat but is that with the trigger pulled or static pressure before trigger pulled. I sprayed some of the exact same clear with the same gun over the weekend and set it at 30 with the trigger pulled and was getting a ton of over spray or at least way more than it looks like you are getting. I might add it was my first time using the R500.
30 psi with the trigger pulled. With my fluid 3 turns out from closed. If you have your fluid wide open you will get more overspray. If you want less overspray you can adjust that pressure down but you have to adjust your fluid down with it. You can still get a slick finish. Hope this helps I'll be doing a video on this topic air pressure, volume, speed and distance and how this effects you finish so keep and eye out for it. Appreciate the comment and support!
Ok, when you say fluid turned out 3 turns from closed are you just giving it 3 turns or are you marking say 12 o'clock and then doing 3 complete 360 back to the 12 o'clock position? Thank you for the help and your reply. Maybe I will be able to get this thing dialed in.
Ok, thank you for clarifying that for me, I appreciate you and the videos along with the replies and help. I'll be looking forward to that upcoming video you mentioned.
I notice you have your water trap before the regulator (which is how everyone seems to do it). I would have thought it would be better to have the water trap after the regulator to catch any water that condenses as the pressure drops. Am I missing something? Thanks for the videos and for taking the time to answer so many questions from your viewers.
The fitting at the gun is a standard european pipe thread which is designed to seat the regulator to the gun and the tapered pipe thread on the other end of the regulator screws into the female end of the water separator. The way he has it set up is correct you do not water going into the regulator either.
Had a hard time finding it online. Got mine at harbor freight spectrum #57505 I like it as well as the Iwata because it sprays low overspray and low air consumption. Iwata sprays clear a bit better .
I'll do that I just don't spray much single stage anymore. One tip is you spray it like clear but not on the first coat. A light first coat or tack coat is key.
I just bought this gun for my first paint gun by chance. I was really glad to see how well liked it is. I can't wait to use it!
I appreciate how concise you are. You and the Underground Paint King get to the point and really help the diy'ers and hobbyists.
This gun arrived today from Amazon. After having to use a pair of Knipex pliers to loosen the air knob, I successfully sprayed a pint of acetone through the gun at 20 psi. I like the look, feel and function of this LVLP spray gun.
👍
If you leave the last 3"-4" of your blend panel free of clear coat on your 1st coat of clear & then do a full wet final coat of clear - You'll dramatically cut down the optical color change from panel to panel....
Intresting? I've never had clear coat effect the appearance of the color. I appreciate the comment band support.

Which one spray better?
My r500 came with everything you mentioned but with 4 needle sets, the same ones plus a 2.0
Awesome!"2.0 could come in handy with epoxy
I have taken your advise and purchased a R500. I have been painting at a shop with a low CFM compressor. The compressor is having a tough time keeping up to my regular 10 - CFM guns. Should be here soon so I can give it a try. Thanks for your informative utube site.
Awesome! Let me know how it works out! Appreciate the comment and support brother!
Just got the r500, im excited to use it after watching your videos.
Hope you enjoy it!
Hi, I just wanted to ask a question..I just picked up a harbor freight touch up gun with a 0.8 mm tip. I would assume with the smaller tip I will need to add additional reducer to the sealer, base, and clear to be able to spray through smaller tip. Would you agree...
How about some tips for spraying a dark metallic? I have a project that will get some midnight blue metallic when it's ready for paint.
I have some videos on dark metallics. Not difficult, the light metallics can be difficult. Check out the videos on blending. Appreciate the comment and support!
Midnight blue is my favorite color. My current car is metallic blue midnight blue. 👍
I like the envelope you have on top for burning in the clear....

Used this gun with the 1.7 tip I believe and ran my high build urethane was not a big deal but with some adjustments it lasted paint out nice just a little this most likely operator error

Got mine yesterday. Tried it out today. It whistles using the 1.7 setup. Hopefully I'll get to try the 1.3 this week.

@@GarageNoise 1.3 whistled too. 1.5 sprayed a a top heavy pattern and bottom heavy if I turned it 180°. I sent it back😔

I just purchased the same gun 610, so I'm new subscriber, tnx.
I think you'll like it. I've got plenty of video's using it. Welcome to the channel!👊

That would be awesome, as you say you can change the finish from the clear just by altering the speed or distance, looking forward to seeing it.

Awesome! Appreciate the support of the channel and good luck with your project!
@GarageNoise Great review!
Which one do you think its best ? R500, A610 or the Blue Astro Euro?

I am repairing and painting a waverunner and have really found your videos helpful. My question is this…
After applying the second layer of paint I have some dust and bugs that got caught in the paint.
You can lightly sand out imperfections with a fine sandpaper like 800 or 2000 and then apply another coat of base and clear.
how`s the overspray comparing with an hvlp? noticiable? that`s the BIGGEST point for me swapping to a lvlp
Thanks.

I don't know for sure but I would say no they won't. Appreciate your comment and support brother!
I really enjoy seeing your videos so have a question is there a different between r500 old style and the new black one
Thank you I really appreciate the support. No difference in the guns other that than the appearance and teflon coating.
I bought the 610 last night off amazon ,did u notice any diff. between the 500& 610 ?

That sounds good! 1.7 should be large enought for epoxy if it has trouble you may need somthing large for exopy. Thickness varies depending on brand.
@@GarageNoise Thanks, Everything worked perfect with these settings. Not a single run and very little orange peel.

Yes they should be able to fill it blend the color but to do it properly the entire bumper needs to be cleared with all components removed. So essentially the entire bumper is being painted. Thanks for watching, appreciate the comment and support!
Great video! I appreciate what you do. What settings would you recommend for spraying primer sealer with the r500?
Primer sealer and base coat air pressure at 15-20 psi as a guide. Appreciate the comment and support!
Is this also recommended for a 20 gal 8cfm at 40 psi compressor?
That would work great
Its really have small air consumption about 3-4cfm for real use? Like mini spray gun?
If thats true, can i work with 1 or 1,5 hp compressor???
Interested
So it claims 4-5 cfm's
I have no way of knowing for sure but I compare it to my other guns that use 10cfms and the overspray that's produced and materials used is noticeably less. So I know it's lower air consumption. I haven't used it on a small compressor but have seen it used on a 20 gallon harbor freight compressor that produces 6cfms and it painted a whole car with no trouble. Check out youtube.com/@UndergroundPaintKing?si=P7rZ6HDQL6fw8SRB

It starts at $8000
Hi Chris, Loves your videos. Thanks
No, o ring. If you've cleaned that cap real well and it still sprays bad I would look at exchanging it. Could be a machining problem.
Sir....I just wanted to repaint my bumper... starting with 180 or 320 sand paper,clean..after that spray primer right.... hopefully you can answer sir.. thank you...🥰
That's correct!
I recently found your channel, and I like what I am seeing, however I'm looking through your videos for some guidance on getting rid of the trash and nibs after your done, do you show that?

Yes ,i believe it would work with your compressor. You want about 6 cfm's of air
Have a question about a different topic, I had to paint lower door and used the crease line to paint up to it. What is the best way to sand it smooth.
Thank you for your video. I recently purchased the R500 from Amazon but having a problem changing nozzles.

Evot is a great gun, provided you have a large enough compressor. It produces a slightly better finish but I believe the benefits of low overspray and reduced material consumption of the a610 or r500 outweigh the slightly better finish of the evot.

Thanks brotha!
@@kseries20-24only not enough air for a DV1 you need the AeroPro A-610 LVLP gun if not the AeroPro the Spray it R-500 or another LVLP Gun

You mentioned that using the scan tool got you a better paint match. You think a scan would be the way to go for older, faded paint?
Thanks for your input brother appreciate the support!
@@davidcrystalprater73 I'm closing it and opening it 3 complete turns.
Ok, thank you for clarifying that for me, I appreciate you and the videos along with the replies and help. I'll be looking forward to that upcoming video you mentioned.
These results look amazing! Wow, I the only word I can say. By the way, what is the small compressor that can be used with this paint gun? Thanks
4cfm minimum
Awesome thanks for another great video!
Thanks for watching!
@@GarageNoise Your welcome.

I notice you have your water trap before the regulator (which is how everyone seems to do it). I would have thought it would be better to have the water trap after the regulator to catch any water that condenses as the pressure drops. Am I missing something? Thanks for the videos and for taking the time to answer so many questions from your viewers.
Honestly I really don't think it matters how you put it on. Appreciate your comment brother!
The fitting at the gun is a standard european pipe thread which is designed to seat the regulator to the gun and the tapered pipe thread on the other end of the regulator screws into the female end of the water separator.
The way he has it set up is correct you do not water going into the regulator either.
Brilliant chris where can you get the pps adapter do you have a pps no like 43 would you say it's good as the kiwami 4 1.3
Had a hard time finding it online. Got mine at harbor freight spectrum #57505
I like it as well as the Iwata because it sprays low overspray and low air consumption. Iwata sprays clear a bit better .
@@GarageNoise cheers Chris
Please do a video on spraying single stage paint using arepro a 610
I'll do that I just don't spray much single stage anymore. One tip is you spray it like clear but not on the first coat. A light first coat or tack coat is key.
