    He never fails to make me smile. Thank you for sharing. I am 68 and have been a fan since childhood. When I go through sad times he always helps me through. His love for his fans is unmatched to this day. He is truly, deeply missed. I am very thankful to have video record of his performances to return to. Keep discovering him it is a great ride! God Bless

    You can’t even imagine what you’re getting into staring the Elvis journey. It’s a lifelong journey and you never get tired. He was a phenomenon.

    Great reaction! I think Elvis was on The Ed Sullivan Show three times. He was also on Stage Show, The Milton Berle Show, and the Steve Allen Show. These appearances were in '56 and '57. He wasn't on TV again until 1968.

    My mom was a super fan of his. She screamed and cried every time he was on tv or in concert. His body shaking would be crazy. Ed Sullivan asked him not to move his body around on his show and was told if he did camera man was to only show an upper body shot. I grew up with his music and all his movies too!

    Great share / performance. There’s a ton of Elvis to explore. Enjoyed the reaction. His performance of “Don’t Be Cruel” on the Ed Sullivan where they would only film him from the waist up (people were complaining that his dancing was too vulgar 😀) is a great watch.

    I remember one of my friends telling me her grandma entered a contest to win an Elvis poster. Whichever girl cut her hair the shortest would win the poster. Well one girl shaved her head. Don't know if it's true, but I believe it after seeing this.

    Elvis actually had to hold back his moves in this performance because he was on the Ed Sullivan show and he was very straight being it was the mid 1950's -

    Elvis really was a good man. He took prescription drugs from a dr. Not knowing because it was from a doctor until later. He was a kind & generous man to his friends, his fans& others. Elvis was an all around good singer, entertainer, performer. He led his music and singerss also. Very talented. All him. No gimmick s back then.

    I was 11 when Elvis hit the National scene. Everyone in my class watched these Performances on Ed Sullivan. We went to Catholic school, and I recall the nun who taught us brought in a record player to play classical music for us to try to convince us, that classical music was the good music,not Elvis and rock and roll. Needless to say, we politely listened, but it was Elvis we were interested in.

    To get an idea of Elvis' versatility could you react to: Elvis Presley - Music Evolution (1954-1977) (7:32). I think you'd enjoy this one also: Elvis Presley "Love Me" on The Ed Sullivan Show (3:08).

    Have you watched his performance on the Milton Berle show of Hound Dog, which aired a few months before this? That performance was considered by many adults to be too sexual, and thus ED Sullivan said he’d never have Elvis on his show. Ed changed his mind and paid a record sum for Elvis to appear 3 times, and sing several songs each time. Check out His Don’t Be Cruel, performance on Ed Sullivan’s show. Don’t Be Cruel, was the flip side or B side on Hound Dog. They alternated between #1 and 2 on the charts for wks

    His moves were censored. At one point they only filmed him from the waist up.

    • @toodlescae
      @toodlescae 2 роки тому

      @@YoSunnyP they considered his "gyrating" too vulgar for tv. Those moves were how he got the nickname Elvis the Pelvis once people saw him live or in one of his over 30 movies.

      @@YoSunnyP Elvis is the most brautiful human that ever lived. Everyone who ever saw him in person said that. He has won that title in many countries over the years. I love Elvis the man even more than I love Elvis the entertainer. He gave away 87 percent of his wealth. He believed in sharing. He was a very spiritual man. His fav book was the Bible. He was super intelligent. Due to his photographic memory he had the entire Bible and dictionary memorized. Everyne who met him said he was the most humble, wonderful man they ever met. His recording company reports he has sold more than 6 billion records worldwide. Uncle Sam drafted him at the height of his career. He was promoted to sargeant. He was an exempleary soldier. The US government credits him with stopping polio. A few yrs back, Ukraine made him an honorary citizen because on the Ed Sullivan show, he requested donations be sent in for the refugees in Ukraine in 1956. With that simple request only once, in today's money, 500,000 dollars were donated to the starving Ukranians. If you know more about him, you will see there is no one with a kinder heart..Raised in poverty in the ghhetto. ...so much more to tell you. More than 1000 books written about him, though most are lies and garbage..React to Hurt, How Great Thou Art, Polk Sally Annie, American Trilogy by him. Thanks for your super reaction.

      @@YoSunnyP You're right,,, But I was referring to his performance of Hound dog on the Milton Berle show, it was the performance that caused a major uproar and causing him to be only filmed from the waist up on his next TV appearance.
