    Let me make an introduction, 2cellos has been together since 2011. The young man in purple is "Luka" Sulic & the one in cream is Stjepan "Hauser". They are both classicaly trained cellists from Croatia. Their first hit was a cover of Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson. Sir Elton John heard it & contacted them within days of their video being posted on UA-cam. They joined his touring band until their careers took off. They have taken a short break from touring... Luka got married & has a son & daughter... he wanted to spend time with them... then covid hit & they have not been allowed to go on tour again... but they do plan to as soon as they are allowed.

    These two gents are classically trained from the time they were young kids and used to compete against each other. They were both invited to the master class in London. They decided to join forces and say they’re still competing against other. 😂. They decided to do rock and pop to interest the younger generation in classical music. I think you’ll like Whole Lota Love vs Beethoven 5th, Smells like Teen Spirit, Eye of the Tiger, Mombasa. They did Smooth Criminal, which is what got everyone’s, and Elton John’s, attention.

    This was truly something else, I’m truly amazed. The ending reminds me very much of the end of Marty McFly’s Johnny B Goode performance, when everyone is just shocked and seen something completely different!
    I remember sitting in music classes back in elementary school trying to do stuff like this while the rest of the class performed the pieces my teacher gave all of us (frankly I had no idea what the hell they were most of the time). Unfortunately, my teacher caught onto it and I was quite sad when I had to play “Hot Cross Buns” along with the rest of the class. Good times.
    Anyways guys, thanks for this bonus. Really incredible and your reaction was priceless! Looking forward to tomorrow’s video.

      Are you sure you don't mean hot cross buns - traditional Easter buns with a decorative cross on top and served hot in the UK?
      P.S. Interweb says they're eaten in the US as well. Maybe they're not an Italian thing you have in your family?
      P.P.S. Because the Christmas retail opportunity season is over, I'm seeing hot cross buns in the supermaket already, and it's still only February!

      The song actually is about the food. Unfortunately, I was the only kid who knew any rock songs, so my classmates weren’t of any help! Hot cross buns are eaten here in the US but I don’t believe it’s too common, at least not among us Italians it isn’t.
      When is hot cross bun season Dave? Spring?

      @@adama1189 - I was trying to explain that in the retail world all the 'seasons' join up, so the hot cross buns seem to start appearing in January I think. They're supposed to be eaten on Good Friday but I usually buy one pack of six and have two each on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, at coffee time instead of the cookies. No wonder we have an obesity problem that's right behind the US.

    Whoa! A Wednesday video? Nice!
    I know I missed a few, but I'll try to catch this one later when I'm at work (though, I'm not the biggest ACDC fan. lol). But the title of the video reminded me of something, and If you're interested in covers, there is a Finnish symphonic metal group of Cello players called "Apocalyptica," and they started out as more of a Metallica tribute band, doing Metallica covers (and they eventually started putting out their own music).
    So they have some Metallica covers on youtube, and their first album are them covering 8 Metallica songs.
    Thought I drop by to mention that to you guys, in case you may be interested in checking them out at all. Been ages since I've listened to them, so can't recommend any one cover (or original song) off the top of my head at the moment.
    Anyways, hope things are going alright for you guys! I'm currently on the last leg of writing my comic, which is why my presence around here has instead been diverted for extra focus on that thing. lol

  • @brianmannell9754
    @brianmannell9754 3 роки тому +1

    Yeah, this was really good.
    I came in figuring that they would absolutely shred their Cello's and do some crazy things, but actually seeing it was still pretty amazing. lol
    The way classical instruments are played and incorporated these days, bringing out different sounds, playing at a multitude of different speeds, and even incorporating them into other genre's of music (such as hiphop [yes, some hiphop songs include classical instruments], to metal) just makes me appreciate classical instruments so much.
    As an interesting note and unique note, Sigur Ros (a top 5 favorite group of mine), the lead vocalist Jonsi uses a cello bow strong on his electric guitar (yeah). Produces some excellent atmospheric sound scapes with it. :P
    Anywho, not much else to say I think! Awesome cover, and super fun video!
    Also, I wouldn't be surprised if some renowned classical artists were considered edgy in their own time at some point. lol Seems to happen with every generation (such as Elvis Pressly, being considered super edgy in the culture of his time. lol).
    But, I could be wrong in regards to the classical greats. Just mostly speculation on my part.

    As you can imagine I really enjoyed that as well. A couple of cellos doing a rock number. Thanks Kathy H for suggesting it.
    Since you enjoyed that so much Ethan, I have an ELO counter offer of another couple of cellos (and the other 5/7ths of the band) doing their cover of In The Hall Of The Mountain King, a classical piece of music composed by Edvard Grieg in 1875. It's from their 1973 album On The Third Day and features stunning solos from Mik Kaminski on violin. There's a terrific piece of live film from Brunel University (Bristol in England) that starts with King Of The Universe and then goes into In The Hall Of The Mountain King. It ends suddenly because I think they go into a cover of Jerry Lee Lewis' Great Balls Of Fire without stopping!

    If you liked this you might like Apocalyptica and their debut album "Plays Metallica by Four Cellos". It was released in 1996 and I'm pretty sure they were one of the first if not the first one to do this kind of thing, playing heavy music with only cellos. It was a huge success and Apocalyptica has released several albums since then. Later on they have done original music and they brought on a drummer and they have had guest singers. Apocalyptica is well worth to check out.

    And they have many other great covers. LOTR and Game Of Thrones music, for example (among many, many others.)

    I saw this video before but had forgotten how much fun it was. Couldn't help but laugh when he got down on the floor and started doing donuts lol! I know the "fans' were actors in video, but they did a good job and made the video that much funnier. I already told you about the Steve N' Seagulls bluegrass version of this song and others have told you about Apocalyptica, so here's something completely unrelated to check out: Orange Goblin - Red Tide Rising (ua-cam.com/video/kHxiouKy8Ho/v-deo.html). Cheers!

    Hi guys, a very good reaction. How have you managed to prevent the video from being blocked due to copyright? I have tried and there is no way, they block it immediately. Have you disputed the copyright claim alleging fair use? Greetings from Spain.

    • @fatherandsonreactions
      @fatherandsonreactions  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks man! yeah it was originally blocked for us so we had to dispute it alleging “fair use”. it should stay blocked for two days after the dispute but then becomes unblocked. We like to set it to scheduled so that when it becomes unblocked, it’s available to everyone. once you dispute the claim, they have 30 days to answer and if they don’t, it becomes permanently unblocked. If they don’t answer in two days, it becomes temporarily unblocked. -S

      @@fatherandsonreactions Thank you very much for answering my question, it has always given me a bit of respect to do that, since there is a threat of receiving a strike if you lose the dispute. This attitude is to be expected from record companies.

Please please 🙏 check out my girl Yoyoka do a drum solo cover of Burn by Deep Purple. She is 12 years old but 11 in that video. Ian Paice the drummer for Deep Purple did a reaction and I'm happy to say he wants to work with her in the future. She has been noted as one of the best drummers in the world. I highly recommend her and you will not be disappointed. Please check her out. YOYOKA

    Oh no! Not another cover! That wasn't music. That was muzak. It reminded me of Ananda Shankar doing Light My Fire on a citar. The video concept was funny, but the music was just so cheesy. Maybe if they did original rock songs on cellos, it would be better. Really Father, this was better than Gong?
