My dude.. this is exactly what I was looking for. I've had the equivalent of writers block for animators and i couldn't figure out how to get a fluid motion on my character. This helped me a lot.
Where is your game?
Amazing! Watched the video and immediately tried implementing your tips in my work, you're so good! Your experience is invaluable man!
6:58 "For like the first 5 minutes of animation, that's great!" ... Meanwhile, I'm sitting here 45 Minutes in, got a bouncing ball that can be somehow seen as a head... Man, that sucks if you do it for the first time, but I won't give up! :D
How did it turn out?
Did you improve by now?
update? did you give up?
did you finish it yet
Oh I never saw your comments :D yes, it really turned out awesome and since then I improved a lot. This was my starting point back then and I'll always be grateful for this tutorial 🥰
Awesome Adam! Ii really admire your work.
You are one of my favorite artists. It would be a dream for me to be able to attend a course or something with all your knowledge.
You are my inspiration.
Damn this really helped me to create my own animation
This is AMAZING! I just watched your video making that elephant dude and I am blown away at how you can really key in on what to really talk about! Following for sure~
Best step by step explanation on how to get actual results. Thank you so much!
Thank you a lot! Really cool! Good luck in your projects!
Nice touch when the music sped up to match the pace of the bouncing blue ball
Excellent tutorial. Instant fan of your work. Congrats.
Just discovered this video/your channel. Lifetime subscriber now. Thank you so much for helping and sharing your knowledge. I'll be practicing this for hours upon hours til I nail it
It was such a great journey when I had to stopped the video so many times just to understand what you were doing. Btw, thanks for this amazing tutorial.
When you find an underated youtube channel that just so happens to be really helpful for stuff that your doing today. (:
My first animation tutorial!!!! thats awesoome! GReetings from Brazil
this was so good, thanks!
I have never EVER been on Twitch before. Had to go for the first time to find the stream you did that horse animation. Wish me luck!
Loving your videos! It has inspired me to get Aseprite and attempt some ferret sprites for our first game 😊 thank you!
Adam! Allow me to commend you and give you praise for a very specific thing.
When making tutorials or videos like these where the point is to help people create I so dearly appreciate that you dont put on a show/character/mask or whatever you wanna call it. You dont take every chance to joke or be witty but instead keep a calm demeanor and focus on what everyone is here for, namely learn how to animate/draw pixelart. I also appreciate your knowledge of the old school of animation which not a lot of people have a grasp on and fail to pass along to the new, younger class.
So thank you for taking this seriously and not just relying on your skill to stay relevant or interesting. You have a solid subscriber in me!
Thanks dude, I discovered your channel first time! I am bad at animation so we need more! :)
Plus: Subscribed and Liked ! :)
Doing my best!
Thank so much this explanation was amazing
OMG great content !! Thank you so much !!
You and Pedro are the tutorial kings of pixel art. I'll git gud in no time with you 2
Really good stuff man!!
Everybody gangsta till the chrome logo starts running
Awesome video! Thanks!
Thanks soo much man u r indeed a wizard. I just wish i watched this before i spent many hours doing it wrong i can't believe how many of the basic principles u just used i messed up in my runnin animation lmao I've joined the discord ill share my interesting work :)
So good. Adam, if you made an in-depth pixel art animation course for beginner-to-advanced, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, as I'm sure many others would!
Wow thats amazing i must try to use some of your tricks.
Great! Very good tutorial!
Excellent work! You are very good ! :3
Underrated channel ❤
this is insane wow
The perfect vid. for me ☺️, love it!
thank you so much oh great wizard of the pixel castle
the parallels and perpendiculars are very important because:
In aesthetic for a dynamic drawing, lines need to be perpendiculars, so that's why ! Creating opposite lines of the strength lines create this feeling of dynamic
another excellent video.
dude! this is awesome! look at that
i love you
Thanks to the video tutorial I became inspired and excited to learn, from this video I so know how to make pixel animated videos, hopefully I also make a work like that. Greetings know my name is sandi from Indonesia.
Woow i learned a lot here tnx
damn that was amazing
I love your channel
thanks for the great tutorial. at 9:17 how did you shift the color of the whole layer?
"Replace Color" shift + R
brilliant
You should totally do a series where you take others' animations and tell them how to make it better
we could really use someone like you telling us how to get better
Very Thanx Man
amazing vid
do idle animations need to loop at the main silhouette? I havent been able to find a breakdown of the idle animations, or more, how to make the art that connects the various animations... thanks man, your videos are the best pixel art ones around.
It takes only 8 frames to make such a good animation
Amazing
Would you consider doing an attack animation tutorial? It would be amazing
Good stuff
@ ~6:00 you’re talking about the speed of the sprint in relation to the speed of the animation. You’re absolutely right, but I think you actually got it wrong in the animation. That is, in a walk, the vertical head motion should be somewhat sine wave like, in a run/jog, it should favour the bottom half of the wave (so, more ‘jarring’ at the bottom) as you’re perfectly illustrating here, but in a sprint. The vertical head motion should be reduced to almost nil. The legs are ‘windmilling’ below the character (though not necessarily drawn as a literal windmill), while the head remains level with the ground near the height of what would ordinarily be the bottom of the head bob at lower run speeds. Head up high and sine wave bobbing at a walk, lower and bottom-centric in a run, lowest and level for a sprint.
cant catch this degree of smoothness
amazing
9:24 my mind started to crumble
You make it look so easy
it is
awesome
Lmao, this will help me so much! +1 Subscribe. Hope you keep doing this awesome work.
can you make tutorial about how you made that horse? looks incredible!
bien jouer le sang
I really wish I new all the hot keys for the things you were doing
It's awesome
Thats fucking awesome
Great video! Is there any features this software has that Photohop doesn't? I mean, apart from the "pixel art/animation out of the box" part of course.
Not really, it’s just more optimized for pixel art (and way cheaper than a creative cloud subscription since it’s a one time fee rather than annual)
What program are you using to make these animations?
God damn, dat real dark magic.
Dawn that help me a lot but ,what is the software you are using ?
Aseprite
are u continues this series?? when are u online on twitch?
Where is the love button? Thank you! If you could do other animation cycles, that’d be so helpful!
Small suggestion, maybe display hotkeys on the screen so we can see which buttons you are pressing! Thanks!
I like this suggestion! I'll look into it :)
@@AdamCYounis Awesome! Thanks, and keep up the great work!
whem you make the character itself do you just use 1 layer or multiple layers?
It's Wow 💥
quick question 5:25, you selected all the frames and moved them down, when i do this, only one frame moves.
forget it, was a bug.
Blue is, objectively, the best color (Da ba dee da ba di)
you are a faking god MAN!!!! awesome!!! :D
When I press Shift + R to replace a colour, I don't get the eyedropper ability, anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
It's interesting how, when timed and positioned properly, a bunch of blobs of colors can be perceived as running :J
Edit: Nvm.. appears to be Aseprite.
Brand spanking new to looking into pixel art (for video game purposes). What is the program you are using here?
Oh we got another pixel artist!
12:14 fun fact - i was following this tutorial step by step and while yours turned out parellel mine turned out perpendicular
this is great video.
you help me a lot thanks. need more subscriber !~
And that's how i studied animation.
holy fucking dark magic
How many milliseconds have you set for individual frames? The default in Aseprite was like .. 200 or something which seems ridiculously slow. While your frames just fly away. You have a video about that or some Tips?
I've always thought the default was 100 ms in Aseprite, since that's what it's been for me since I can remember. Maybe there was a setting I changed years ago to have that be the case.
Most TV cartoons gets animated at 12fps which is something like 83ms per frame.
What is this palette that you're using? Can I have it too? xD It looks great tbh
This was AMAZING learning you’ve given me.
~but~
At the end of the day, and as per my last comment, this looks much more like a run/jog, since the downbeats are emphasized. A sprint shouldn’t really have downbeats. The head should stay down, facing down looking at feet, torso at a shallow angle far ahead of the center of gravity, and the legs virtually flying over the ground. Almost no overall ‘bob’. All the ‘bob’ is captured and absorbed in the hips/spine as your secondary animation.
I’d love to see you do what I suggest and compare it to the run/jog seen here.
*all in my totally amateur, all talk - no action, virtually worthless opinion. ;)
Every time i have to slow down to like 0.5 , other wise i will go crazy trying to understand anything xD.
what do you use for spriting?
What is the common time per frame? 100ms?
9:36 ahh sonic
what program do you use?
Aseprite
@@AdamCYounis Thanks a lot, your videos are so helpful
and in which program do you draw?
Aseprite
It takes only 8 frames to make such a good animation
What Program is this?
I’ve never learned so much so fast
what's the program you use?
Aseprite
sorry for the late reply lmao
Having a bit of trouble visualizing the foot motion at about 7:00 but i have a bouncing ball! :P
dang what program is that?
Aseprite!
@@AdamCYounis ok thanks!
how to draw "wave & wind"animation?
i can't find this .. what's the name of application ??
Aseprite
¿What is that program for animation?
Aseprite
