You've done a good job. Just keep working with him. Once he trusts you completely, he'll be your best companion.

Interesting, either way I support whatever decision you make moving forward. You’re the one working with him day in and day out. 😊😊😊

Hello, I have a Mustag mare from Wayoming that was very similar (sometimes still is) We took a huge step forward when the dentist came to see us. She had always been difficult to catch and was extremely headshy. It had large hooks in the back area and its mouth was cut open there. 4 days after the dentist it was hardly a problem and I quickly built up more trust in people than in the previous 6 months. Greetings
I hole my Englisch is god enugh
P.S She had previously been mediated twice and was considered unbreakable and unrideable.

Amazing story about your mustang! So glad to hear she's all better after the dentist visit. Unfortunately there are no horse dentists near me. Hopefully one day there will be better equine professionals in my country. I know more than all the vets it's sad.

I v had horses like that ...I used to start getting irate after a month but when I talked to an older gentleman he said that some personality's in horses just stay as a hyperactive animal ......I changed my way of thinking and he was right ....One of my best horses was quiet like you have that pretty little horse but I tell you what she was smart o her feet and she had a good heart but flighty like an showy Arabian but still a good horse and obedient .....she looks to be doing great just go to the next step ...cheers

So interesting how different each horse is! Definitely helps to be open minded and try different things to help each horse learn as easily as possible. Thanks for sharing your story 🙌🏼😊

Have you tried a series of obtacles ?? It seems to me he is too focused on you. The one-on-one seems too intense and unbroken. He doesn't lick and chew much. Wouldn't obstacles give him something else to think about other than you ? Give him a purpose ?? He would see that your leadership was helpful ?

I like your thinking! Definitely something I could try. He is only on his 4th ride and he’s so reactive and unpredictable that I’m not sure how it would go. Yeah he’s a proper wild horse so that’s why he’s not relaxing yet he’s still trying to figure out if he can get rid of me and he’s absolutely not happy that I am there. It’s a completely different animal to our domesticated horses that love being around us 😅

Congratulations you have created a fearful, pressured ultimately resentful animal. Too much in a hurry for results. Dial back your plan.

I know you did this a while ago at this point, but three weeks isn't a long time to tame a feral horse at all lol. It takes months on average to tame an american mustang, this guy is no different.

Have you ever seen the mustang millionaire challenge? Pretty cool to see how fast they can tame wild horses! How many wild mustangs have you personally tamed?

It doesn't matter how much time this horse needs you're not gonna get on them in 23 days of them being from the wild this isn't OK. You need to do more groundwork before you try to sit on him.
