    Let me know if you have any questions about painting gold on cookies! ✨

      How long do we have to wait until it dries on cookies?

    • @SharilynsCookieStudio
      @SharilynsCookieStudio  2 роки тому

      @@curlthusiast The gold will be dry almost instantaneous after it's applied to the cookie. The alcohol evaporates nearly immediately, so once it's painted, you're good to go!

      @@horicon57 Hi Pam! This is a 20 second consistency.. it's what I prefer for outlining and flooding immediately!

    Such pretty cookies! I, too, love TMP gold--I don't think there's anything else on the market that compares. And the extra time spent painting gold onto cookies is so worth it!

    This is my second video of Sharilyn's and I'm hooked! I love the simple terms and smooth delivery! I've been using oils because they go on smoother than vodka or 151 BUT I don't think I was mixing it correctly. I'll be going to get a bottle of ever clear today!

    Hi,
    Thank you for your video.
    I recently used gold for my cookie and not sure why… it became glittery. Any advice?

    • @SharilynsCookieStudio
      @SharilynsCookieStudio  6 місяців тому

      Hi! By glittery, do you mean the gold didn't stick to the cookie very well? I always have a little bit of fallout from the gold, but if you're having a lot where it's not sticking easily, I'd be curious about the gold product you're using as well as the liquid you're using to add to the gold. If you can tell me these two things I'll see if I can troubleshoot it.

    How do you keep gold from smearing once it’s dry? (I’m using sugar art gold dust)

    • @SharilynsCookieStudio
      @SharilynsCookieStudio  Рік тому +1

      I've never tried their gold dust so I'm not sure how it compares, but with this one, once the alcohol evaporates, the gold stays put. If I had really glopped it on, it would smear, but as long as it's a smooth flat application, it stays where I've painted it on and dries down completely.

    I struggle with my icing having little dents after I paint (Sugar Art + Everclear). I figured it’s too much liquid, dissolving the icing. But when I use less alcohol, the texture of the paint suffers (grainy). I’ve tried so. many. consistencies. Any tips? Thank you!

    • @SharilynsCookieStudio
      @SharilynsCookieStudio  Рік тому

      My first thought is that it could be either the product you're using or the alcohol you're using. I use either CK Products Imperial Gold or Truly Mad Plastics Super Gold (both non edible, non toxic gold dusts). And the alcohol I use is always Everclear. I've never run into a problem with my icing dissolving. If I use too much alcohol, it's just too runny to work so I'll wait a few minutes for it to thicken up a little. And if I don't add enough alcohol, it's too gloppy (unpaintable) so I know to add more, but it's never an issue of it being too grainy, which makes me think the issue could be the gold product. Just my first thoughts... let me know if you have any other questions!

      @@SharilynsCookieStudio maybe it’s a humidity (lack of, I’m at high altitude, high desert climate in Idaho) thing? Only thing I can think of, as my product use is same as many people - the sugar art sterling pearl wedding gold + Everclear. When I don’t have enough alcohol, it’s chunky & the dust is not dissolved enough, that’s what I meant by “grainy”. But maybe I should try TMP & see if that’s the issue (I hope not, as I have lots of the Sugar Art dusts!🙈)
      Thank you for your thoughts, I appreciate it!

    I love your videos. But iwould never use TMP or any other non- edible product on my cookies. The Sugar Art luster dusts are great and there are so many shades to choose from. The Sugar Art has Highlighter which is a super gloss gold. But it is non edible.

      I agree - The Sugar Art is wonderful which is why I recommend them! Everyone has to decide what they're comfortable with, so I totally get it!

    Absolutely the best tutorial I have seen thank you so much was wondering I have a lower grade vodka and I have a clear Bacardi rum would I be able to use the better quality which would be the Bacardi?

    • @SharilynsCookieStudio
      @SharilynsCookieStudio  2 роки тому

      Thank you so much, Cindy! The key with the type of alcohol you use is to use the highest proof you can get... this will evaporate the quickest and leave you with the least amount of grainy texture. I've never personally used rum so I can't say for sure but if it's clear and a high proof I would think it would work well!
