Have you ever tried a wet-on-wet design before? These were my first cookies to try this technique with and I'm in love with how they turned out!
Sharilyn's Cookie Studio yes I have tried it. Mine did not turn out quiet as beautiful as yours. I still have so much to learn. You have a new subscriber. Thank you!😊

These are SO freaking pretty!!!! I love them. I am beginning to get into making cookies and these videos are SO helpful!! Do you have one that talks about tools you’d recommend to get started? Things needed for piping and stuff like that? Thanks so much in advance!!
Hi Rachel! Thank you so much! No, I don't have a video that shows must have tools, but that's a GREAT idea. I'll try to get a video up on that soon! In the meantime, I've linked everything I use in the description boxes of my videos so hopefully that will help. And thanks for the video idea! 😄
Hi Shariyn, I came across your tutorial by accident as I was searching something else. But I decided to watch as I had never seen anything like this before. Congratulations, they looked amazing.
Anyhow, I don't have any baking background myself but Belgian pastry chef are in my family and my mother specialized in finish work, so I guess I grew up watching a lot of wedding cakes being made.
Anyhow, I had a thought for you, if you needed to make a number of cookies let's say for an event, garden party, shower or something, could you make the tops ahead of time ie the icing part, then store in an airtight container, bake your cookies fresh and then adhere the design ie glue it with fresh icing?
I remember my mother piping out trim pieces and storing them to be used on decorating cakes down the road. This might be a better way than freezing with the icing on. If you needed to freeze your cookies you could do that separate from your top. To deal with the moisture issue.
Since we are in lockdown I think I might try this as a project with my daughters as they both love to bake.
Thank you again for sharing.
Hi Andrea! Thank you! And that's a really interesting idea - in theory, I don't really see why it wouldn't work. It sounds like it could be extra work though, if you have to print a template for the top. I suppose you could also trace the cutter if it's an easy shape to trace. You could also run into the top not fitting the cookie correctly if the cookie spreads when baking. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes! I'd be interested in hearing if this works!

Beautiful design and colours, I love it. I have trouble with colour bleeding and dont know how to avoid. Is there any trick???
Thank you! Color bleed is something I haven't really struggled with so I'm not sure how much help I'll be. But from what I've read, one of the main causes is from over coloring your icing. I like to let my icing sit and develop for a little bit if I have the time (especially for black and red) because the color will deepen on its own as it sits. I also have read putting your cookies in front of a fan (or a dehydrator) can help the icing crust over faster which may help with color bleed. I'm sorry I'm not more help but I hope those ideas may be a little helpful!
What brand of marker is that please? So nice and fine.
Hi! It's a Rainbow Dust dual ended edible marker. If you check the description box, I've linked it there. I hope that helps!
I love these ! I have a question! I use your sugar cookie + royal icing recipe for my cookies, I haven’t tested this but do they freeze well?
Thank you, Alondra! Yes, they do freeze well. I haven't tried it out for a super long time, but I've frozen them for about 2 weeks and they were great. Just be sure they're in an airtight container and when you pull from the freezer, let them come fully to room temp before exposing them to air or you'll run the risk of condensation forming on the icing, which could ruin the design. I've heard of others freezing cookies for a few months with no problem, so they might be good for that long, but I've personally never tried it. Good luck!!
Sharilyn's Cookie Studio thank you so much for replying! It will definitely be useful to freeze designs for the upcoming holiday cookie orders !
Hi! Just wondering ABOUT how long does this take? Including making the icing, baking the cookies and everything
Hi! It depends so much on so many different factors. Generally speaking, if I'm making a dozen cookies that are fairly detailed, it'll take about 2 hours to bake the cookies and make and color the icing, and then decorating can take 10-15 minutes per cookie, depending on the design. Sometimes I can go faster, but I tend to decorate on the slower side, so 10 minutes is a good general ballpark. It takes awhile, but I love it!
Where are your markers from pls ?
Hi Debi! I always try to link products in the description box since I'm not the fastest at responding. I used a Rainbow Dust marker and linked it there. I will say I heard this is a newer version that is getting mixed reviews, so I'm not sure if it's as good, but that's the replacement for the one I used. I hope that helps!
I love the light blue what brand is?
Hi! All of the colors are Americolor, except for the pink, which is Wilton. The light blue is Wedgewood by Americolor.
👍👍 ❤❤ 😂😂😂🌹🌹👏👏
What are you colors
Hi Mel! I've started putting colors in the description box, but I wasn't doing that yet for this video. I think I used apricot for the orange, avocado for the green, and wedgewood for both blues (just different amounts) - all Americolor. And the pink is rose by Wilton. I hope that helps!
What type marker? TYIA
