I agree, I do also think you need start invest in Tiers to beat Chapter 3. And that's also why your Base Characters get to Tiers 3 After finishing Chapter 2. I did not try but I do think you still can beat that stage using the base characters within same level.
I beat the entirety of chapter 3 with just the base characters, Heathcliff, Faust and Ishmael were really good for the majority of it. Max level i got the characters to was 20
Chapter 3 forcefully taught me to love Meursault. I had never used him until then, and suddenly boom, enemies aren't even scratching his massive HP protect by like 12 buffs. My man is TANKY. He hits like a wet noodle tho but that comes with the role.
@@JohnPanio Ah, master Panio, but here's the catch. If Meursault just keeps spamming his ego I can just let Faust, Ishmael and Heathcliff wreck havoc. I was positively giddy when after 4 tries of absolute failure I suddenly saw the K Corps getting staggered every round. Delightful.

I'll probably start saving up to spark something since I don't think I need to upgrade anything else for the time being (unless I pull one of the new identities/egos they teased in the roadmap I guess lol). Oh i didn't know that those mobs in chapter 3 were a big trouble to most people. Im new to limbus and i guess the Sinclair "the one who shall grip" i got from the beginner banner carried the entire battle. Instantly deleting them
Something worth mentioning. Hex Nail is the best EGO in the shop currently available and it is not close. PM has a habit of slapping Envy onto characters at random. The amount of third skills that randomly give Envy with no reason for it to be Envy is extremely high. And the only default EGO that consume Envy are Heathcliff and Mersault. Mersault's EGO is extremely situational, which just leaves Heathcliff as the ONLY character with a baseline ability to consume Envy, which you *will* generate due to its commonality on third skills. If you intend to use Faust, it is actually worth considering, simply because it's a mono-envy that burns an otherwise unused resource.
@@jackenragmana9615 It's not about it doing damage, and you won't use it as a damage dealer. As a Mono-Envy EGO, it consumes a resource that you otherwise will seriously struggle to consume. A resource that many Identities atm generate from their best skill. You throw it out to win a messy clash, knowing that it costs you nothing to do so, as it does not slow tempo on any other EGO you are likely to use. In essence, it's a free clash win.
Thank you very much. As a Faust enjoyer AND someone who struggles to spend their envy points, I am absolutely going to start farming for it right now. Sadly this is probably going to take ages tho
Agree, u have to build up resources to use them anyway. And you dont have to spam E.G.O whenever it's ready. Keep the resources for steady passive buffs, basically E.G.O can be ignored most of the time. Personally, I only use it to win clash against high power coin (7+). Another tip for whom reading my comment, do not use E.G.O on slow character who is closed to stagger and is being targeted by a one-side attack. That char will waste resources.
I understand your point, but have you tried an unga bunga ego spam team? I'm pretty sure at the moment, ego spamming is just as good, if not better than saving sanity for better coin flips. Yes, some of the characters with single coin moves need sanity, but a lot of the multihit folks can spam ego to a decent extent.
Also from a technical standpoint, since I know some people def wanna safe them up, but from my experience, you're better off burning shards for threads anyways due to how generous the game has been with lunacy and drop rates. Since so far I forgot to reroll and I've been rocking the game without any of the starting E.G.Os but with a bunch of maxed Identities I've been still able to breeze and utilize my units to their max potential
John, for this section since we got a thread dungeon now it's definitely not worth to convert shards into threads. Moreover even with free BP it's still possible to get at least 2 000 by farming the shards in the mirror dungeon. Maybe you should make an updated video for this? What ya think
With all the launch gifts and chapter rewards I have some character who I have all the identities for and who don’t have an ego in the shop yet so I just scrap their extra shard to level other people I haven’t done chapter 3 yet but I’ve seen those enemies in the mirror dungeon and didn’t struggle beating them to death with Gregor, Don and Ryushu’s three star identities as all have some really strong damage
When you were struggling with 3-4, did you use your basic 1 star identities? Since they're uptied to tier three at that point, the blunt based basic identities such as 1 star Ishmael, Hong Lu, Faust and Heathcliff should be fairly effective. In fact, I'm sure there's people that have beaten the entirety of chapter 3 with only basic identities.
@@JohnPanio sadly I was already doing that. I finished every other stages ex without any problem. Good work with helping players discover the games mechanics though!
I think this is the hardest mission in the game, haven't finished Kromer's Dungeon yet tho. My advice is level a base Heathcliff, solid blunt and no weakness to blunt/pierce, base Ishmael as well. Tingtang Hong Lu with uptie 3 was extremely helpful too, hits extremely high dmg even without blunt

In the current state of the game, yes. Though there is the consideration of future gregor content you might want to insta-buy from the shop when it comes out.
