I have done this. I bought the same cannon printer you use. I have a cricut heat press but I use my embossing heat tool to melt the powder. I didn’t want to risk burning myself with the heat press. I love the DTF HACKS. I found you because of a HACK VIDEO, then I watched more of your videos and that's why I bought the heat press.
So i used a hp printer and it worked!!!! My first on was patchy so i just did a layer on top where the patches where and it fixed no problem. The second time i put it on my long skillet and put extra powper on top and the second time it was flawless

@@YouCanTotallyMakeThat so do I put put the powder side up with the heat on the top hope not a stupid question just want to get right because my heat press only the top is heated
Just started watching you tonight and have already gone thru 3 of the DTF hacks. I was so upset when I found out (after, of course) that my Epson ET-2850 had to have special sublimination ink and not the regular ink. I need this printer for other everyday printing so don't want to change to sublimination ink. The DTF sheets look to be the answer. looking forward to more.
Hi! I know using hot air blower is not safe to use for melting dtf powder for being so close to the powder vapor. How about your method of melting which needed some parts of film to be pressed down to melt uniformly, is it still safe by that distance which most likely you inhaled its vapor?
Very nice video but you confused me about the color concerns. Will this work for color permanently or not? I'm thinking "yes" it works due to the DTF powder...but before I go wasting time and materials, can you please confirm this? Thanks so much.
The color will wash out I only recommend the inkjet DTF hack for non wash items like tote bags, hats etc. now if you print in all black it will not wash out. now to flip it up even more if your inkjet printer has pigment ink and not dye ink the color will not wash out. you can google your ink to find out if its pigment ink
Super, thanks. So now I'm thinking..."I wonder if there is some sort of sealant out there for the purpose". I think I'm on the hunt LOL @@YouCanTotallyMakeThat

Hey CrystalAnn can you do this with both light and dark fabrics and is it possible to use a sublimation printer to print the dtf transfers? Was thinking get a sublimation printer but i know sublimation has its limits so thought i could try the dtf hack and print vinyl heat transfer paper as well to get the most out of the printer and have more options
How do you manage printing different colors on thr printer? Do you have to keep changing the color on the ink used in thr printer? Like if i have black and pink loaded in printer and want blue and pink, how do i go about doing that?

Can you do a video with a cute sublimation with color on like a pretty pink or blue shirt maybe? I am wondering if it would just fade into the color of the shirt and not pop?
If the colors are the same as the shirt it will fade into the t-shirt if the design has no colors that are the same you will be good togo as long as its light blue or pink
I can't find the pin you mentioned as to whether this held up after being washed. Can someone point me in the right direction please or just provide me with the answer? Thanks!

I guess you would need a inkjet printer that uses pigment based color inks. Also wonder if a waterproof fabric spray fixative over the DTF layer prior to ironing on the HTV layer would help.
So you’re saying if using an inkjet printer it won’t wash well, but if it’s a sublimation printer with sublimation ink will this work? Will it wash well?
I have resized designs down to print at DTF with Epson Black ink. The design turns out to be to thick and looks like a mess. Is there a way when you are downsizing a design to reduce the pixels so the design will stay true?
okay, so just to make sure I understand... I can make a dtf in my injet printer, use white powder or NOT use the powder and use my cricut press? I have heard so many people say, it wont work with a cricket press and I HAVE to have a tshirt press machine.. This is awesome if I am understanding correctly..!!!! That is correct you can use the inkjet printer but keep in mind the black will stay but the color will fade unless its pigment inkjet some printers are dye and some are pigment. The black ink is pigment that's why it does not wash out. yes use white HTV powder and your Cricut Easy Press. you can use color on items you don't wash like a tote bag
🚨Update second wash I lost color 😭 Back to the drawing board so to recap black is a success color only on non wash items like tote bags
Awesome. So excited to try this hack
