Thank you! Tried for the first time today. The first one, the color Blue did not transfer well. I made sure the second time that I quickly covered with the powder with PLENTY, left it for a little bit longer before shaking off the powder and it turned out great!
@ericrumlin7633 only about 2-3 minutes, but, I think the difference was how quickly I put the powder on which was within 45 seconds. The first one it was probably 4-5 minutes

Hi! You're welcome! I review equipment as well, so I have a few presses. Using both allows me not to have to adjust the BetterSub after curing the image. You can see all the presses I have used and or reviewed in my Amazon store, link in description.
Standard inkjet printers are unable to print using white ink, in this example the highlights are just absent of color or not a true white and on a white shirt the "white" is enhanced. Hope that makes sense 😊
Yes. Here are the settings I used for my Canon printer: Photo Printing, T-Shirt Transfers, High-quality. The "t-shirt transfers" setting automatically mirrors the image.

hey porcha! all the videos I've watched say dye-based inkjet colors will not survive being washed, and I don't see anything here that they're not doing (i.e. everyone using this yamation paper that I've seen applies the powder as part of the process and double presses). I suppose I'm just curious what you're doing differently when you say you've washed them and they are good to go, as other videos are showing the post-washed shirts faded, except for the pigment-based black ink. any ideas?
Hi @_roshi! In this video, I used regular inkjet ink. The image is still intact but has faded slightly, as I expected. I have since switched to using sublimation ink with this hack, which hasn't faded since this type of ink bonds with the fabric. So, the "hack" uses DTF film and powder with sublimation ink to produce an image suitable to press on 100% cotton. With sublimation, the polyester count needs to be higher than the cotton count, i.e., 60/40, to make the best image for sublimation.

You have to be able to apply enough pressure to properly transfer the image.

No, not if you're using inkjet ink, but I've found sublimation ink works best with this hack. Yes, with the cannon, if you select T-Shirt in the print settings, it'll reverse the image for you

I tried this with a Brother inkjet and it did not do well at all. Print was so light and it didn't print the detail of picture at all. So I am wondering does it have to be a certain type of injet printer to get similar results to the DTF hack using the sublimation printer. My Espon f170 does a much better job so far with this hack.

Regular inkjet ink. No the image won't show well on a say a black shirt, I know from experience🤦🏽♀️ I've since learned that you need different supplies for dark colors.
The DTF sublimation hack uses DTF powder with DTF film plus sublimation ink to sublimate on 100% cotton. Sublimating on 100% cotton is not recommended, thus the hack. With sublimation, you produce the best product when the polyester count is higher than the cotton count, ie 60% polyester, 40% cotton on white to light color fabric.

Great video. Without modifying the printer or ink. So the trick is the glossy paper, powder, cure. Hopefully, colors wont fade away after wash.

The film is a one-time use, but of course, depending on the size of your images, you can fit multiples on the film.

Hmmmm, I haven't had that issue. The powder should only stick to the ink, nothing else.

Do you have to add the white ink to the bottom with every print, or why did you do that versus just taking the first printed image without the white?

What kind of ink used in your printer. Will it wor to dark garments?
Regular inkjet ink. No the image won't show well on a say a black shirt, I know from experience🤦🏽♀️ I've since learned that you need different supplies for dark colors.
Do you need a special program to print ... or you can use any?

I'm new to this... What's the difference between dtf hack and sublimation only
The DTF sublimation hack uses DTF powder with DTF film plus sublimation ink to sublimate on 100% cotton. Sublimating on 100% cotton is not recommended, thus the hack.
With sublimation, you produce the best product when the polyester count is higher than the cotton count, ie 60% polyester, 40% cotton on white to light color fabric.
Oh and did you have to get transfer paper from a company that had canon print profiles?
