5:53 wait, Maru kisses the guy's hand?!?!
+iMMIT1987 -
+iMMIT1987 He meant to bow to the camera
He misses his sugardaddy
you guys aree uploading a bit more lately AND I LOVE IT you guys are doing absolutely great and you dont know how much respect i have for you guys. you guys have only 27k subs but thats because the community is small :( love you guys
I thought he is going to lose his winning streak. Well played Maru. Sorry for doubting you.
+VEspenE_'WingS' maybe but I assume you ever though Innovation NO.1?
People saying it's not a comeback have never played TvP with 40 supply behind
Well, go watch it again =P even the caster said "it's not that much, as the supply difference is because of workers, but stats has no bases to mine" at that moment, army supply was 90 to 92, the supply difference isnt worth it if it's because of probes that are not mining
+markrik1 Points for you
+TRiLoBiT Indeed, all the probes were stuck queuing up to mine on one base while terran had mules mining on top of scvs. Terran was never behind in the game, in terms of both army units and resources.
+Ji Kang Chua Terran was never behind? Look at the supply, maru starts with both less army and workers. After little over a minute he has 35 scvs to 69 probes, that's almost exactly half. Never behind, huh? I'm guessing you play protoss.
ObservableFiction
I guess you don't play terran if you don't understand the late game strategy of terran. Terran in late game sustain their resource income with mules. In a much bigger map terran can literally sacrifice all their scvs and literally mine with only mules so they can have 200 supply worth of army units.
At 0:20 Maru was only 15 supply behind in terms of units, despite the larger supply number difference due to worker count. After the engagement at 3:30, protoss supply is at 109 vs terran's 72, however, if you discount the worker's supply terran actually lead by 52 to 41 army unit. And the fact is that terran actually have comparable income despite the lower worker count, due to the mules's effort. However, the tables turned when 2 of stats's mining base is taken down and about 40 probes went wasted queuing up at a single mining base.
You need to look pass the numbers and assess the situation more rigorously to understand the game better. Numbers can be deceiving as shown in this game.
I don't even play StarCraft 2 or know much about it at all, but this was really fun to watch.
what a great skill
Lol sick viking drop
MARU OP !!!
+Kévin Joly
naw....
When I'll get a job the proleague will be my first and last subcribed and donated channel on twitch, great work Kespa
5:40 That Surge Protector Thooo
Zero comeback is happening. He wasn't behind in the first place.
holy crap I never knew you can pick up Vikings with medivacs until now
Supply counts don't always tell the tale. Keep an eye on the mini map for functional bases and look at the resources.
10-0 in the normal Proleague season, 14-2 including the Playoffs. Just insane right now.
5 years later in recommendations...
Tempests are getting very low, ok I'll have to take your word for it.
I just noticed that the marauders shoot 2 grenades now
how is this a comeback? Maru looked in control all the time
+OrsoBaLorso^Starcraft Before the comeback (start of video) Stats was hugely favoured, we should have included some parts of that in the video. Sorry about that.
Full game here; ua-cam.com/video/dwRpvoZ03N0/v-deo.html
+OrsoBaLorso^Starcraft Stats army was overwhelmingly powerful. In a straight up fight, Stats wins many times over. Maru just is a BEAST.
+OrsoBaLorso^Starcraft seriously just look at the supply, Maru was over 40 supply behind. Being that far behind after a base race scenario is almost auto gg. Stats threw this game pretty hard
+SC2HL Nha, the video is understandable by itself, Stats had a secured mining since the start and Maru was clearly struggling to settle down and stabilize, just a dumbass trying to be a smartass in that comment, you video was just fine and appreciated,
+Burg They were equal in army supply, Stats just had 50 Probes mining on one base. Maru was never behind.
마루갓
Mary
Not that behind because there were lots of probes for the protoss and Maru managed to limit his opponent's mining
What did the mother core provide back then compared to the mothership today?
It was cheaper, provide tht slow barrier thingy, allow pylons to attack, easier access to make a mothership
wow
Yeah didn't see anything that could be considered a comeback
what was up with that hand kiss at the end 5:54 ? wtf
there was no kiss, watch it again, he just bows
terran foh LIFE
This looks like a pretty standard game to me haha
They changed it back.
T E R R A N B O Y S
that ugly scan sign on the minimap lol...sooo bad
How is this a comeback at all? And how was stats ever ahead after that big fight??
Where was the comeback?
+Andrew Davidson 40 Supply Behind vs P ?
+omeirat94 yeah but it was all in workers which he wasn't mining with. The army supplies Mari was up.
А камбэк где?
Muzska...
5:54 wth is maru doing? looks like he is trying kiss his coach's hand or something
+Tricky Smoosher or the coach is feeding him drugs or something
+Tricky Smoosher I thought so too. Prob just a culture thing
+Tricky Smoosher He bowed to the audience.
+Sketch Turner now that you mention it, I think he was actually bowing to Stats or maybe the other team. Could have been the audience too
+Tricky Smoosher +Trackstar +jdennis187 LOL you guys got kissing coach's hand and the coach feeding him drugs over him bowing to the audience? Deductive and logical reasoning skills on point.
Maru and Stats Crazy See-saw Game would have been a better title. No spoiler and more accurate.
i do think it would be better if You didnt spoil the play at the title
+heitor trielli You should go watch the real game then. This is intended to be a highlight, and highlights needs to advertise what they're highlighting.
+Athinira i dont think so. Highlight show what was the awesome part of the game, but it doasnt need to say whats gonna happen. I dont have time to watch the full games, so almost only whatch sc2 from this channel
+heitor trielli Yes, but you also need to advertise your video. UA-cam-videos needs to attract people - to attract people you need to explain why they should watch the video - hence, we might get spoilers in highlight videos. Sometimes you can do without the spoilers (for example "EPIC TvZ - Firecake vs MaSa" doesn't spoil anything except that it's an awesome game), but sometimes you do, like in this video.
In fact, this is no different than going to a news site for soccer news and seeing an article titled "Barcelone tramples down Real Madrid - watch all the goals here". That's quite common, and people ironically don't complain about spoilers there if they missed the match.
So no, in the context if running a succesful UA-cam-channel, video titles do need to explain what the videos are about and why people should watch them. And in case of highlight-videos, that can and will occasionally include spoilers. I can sympathize with you not having the time to watch the full games, but then you'll simply have to accept that compromise.
+Athinira I guess you're right, even tho, the less amount of spoilers, the better
that was stat's fault.. he should have base traded
against a Terran?
+Maxwell Walker yes against terran,, base trade zergs always win
want a bet? terran basetrades are one of the worst tactical decisions you can make. and zergs always win basetrades? they have the least amount of buildings to destroy
Why dont protoss prefer HT's over disruptors against terrans? Seems a lot more reliable, especially when you watch the decent T's split and make disruptors completely useless.
Still think disruptors are a dumb gimmicky unit. Trying to balance an all-or-nothing design is inviable IMO for starcraft. You either rape half the opponents' supply in 1 hit and insta-win the game-- or you whiff and wasted a ton of resources on paperweights.
They're a gamble, but sometimes they really pay off. Plus they give a good peeling factor if you're trying to keep an army at bay.
I agree up to a point. if you throw a nova, the opponent is forced to either back his army, or move closer to the army. its like a bunch of banelings, forces you to move or die
+javierlemusen very true. Honestly if you're not a professional player, which I'm not, you don't usually have to worry about the other player being good enough to properly split.
javierlemusen ya but for banes, it's not all or nothing. There's less variance since you can make banes low cost and viably get some value out of them without having to tech up to and make an expensive unit that the entire game has to revolve around.
+herpderpmonkey that's also true. However for banes I think the best counter is archons.
The ability to fly your deathball anywhere on the map with boosted babyvacs. Ah... such great balance. And to think that Blizz changed the way recall works from WoL to HoS because they didnt want you to recall your deathball anywhere on the map but only back to base. But terrans? Yeah sure, fly anywhere you like and drop bases like paper towers.
I was really disappointed in this game. I'm a KT fan and stats threw this game hard.
And people say protoss is op
Not even giving compliments to his opponents? Maru is cancer
wow, its impressive how tier 1 units can crush anything with stimpack... thats idiotic
Yaya. stop whining! Have to listen all day long; "This is Op" or " Oh not that race is cancer " or " This is so unbalanced" BLABLABLA. SRSLY just shut up. This is so fking annoying. If it's too unbalanced in ur mind then stop playing or watching sc2.
+Account Seller " If it's too unbalanced in ur mind then stop playing or watching sc2."
ded gaem bro.
herpderpmonkey Nope. It's not
+Account Seller " If it's too unbalanced in ur mind then stop playing or watching sc2."
that is a very good point
If you do not enjoy playing (watching) SC2, then dont play (watch). I dont understand why people who do not enjoy the game keep watching and picking the negativity of the game, what a big mystery
We have SC2 broadcast 5 days/week with proleague, SSL, GLS that is only in Korea, not count the WCS and other smaller tournament. There is still a significant number of the viewer and unless there are statistic data to prove that the number of viewers is plummeting then the game is far from "ded", SC2 is still pretty healthy
+javierlemusen yea, tier 1 units. With 3 3. With medivacs. With vikings. With liberators. Totally tier 1 everything. And that damn protoss, right? His stupid tier 1 adepts and stalkers. And disruptors. And tempests. And archons. Damn, this stupid game is just all tier 1, god damn blizzard!
O.o
Fuking Blizzard fix toss!!!
Not that insane. Looked pretty close to me.
+Pamah Only Terran players know the feel. :/
BIAXlD3NT They have OP Mules and Comsat tho.
+Kleavers comsat? lol wtf are you talking about. This isn't brood war. Just look at the supply and then you will see why this is a comeback. Winning a game when behind by 40 supply in a PRO game is almost unheard of.
Kleavers Mules won't save you when you're playing vs a competent player.
+BIAXlD3NT Only protoss knows how it feels that when you are ahead in supply but is not ahead in advantage simply because terran can just force a base trade as shown in the video. There is no known way to counter this.
The possible scenarios after 0:25 are:
1) toss retreat from their attack and tries to defend their base (which stats did)
the disadvantage is terran will have enough time to snipe a few nexus before the slow protoss army can return.
2) Go for the base trade
everyone knows its the suicidal move here, terran would lift their buildings and protoss in this case with slow ground units will never win the game. Terran will just have to slowly out position protoss units and tear down their structures.
3) Recall
This is the only effective way to stop a forced base trade from terran and probably prevent losing your structures. However, it is not without a disadvantage, your attack plan ends up foiled and you have to slowly travel across the map to reach terran base. Which the terran would have already catch up in supply by then.
This is NOT a comeback. PERIOD.
sloppy unit comp
its not a comeback if its some bullshit island or isolated region with rocks a terran can camp on. i cant tell you how stupid that is, thats like if i was playing smash and i was down to my last life and i picked up a star that lasted for the rest of the game so i was invincible. not really a comeback there.
+luxon4 so what is a comeback then?
+Michael Pearson Comeback is when the odds are against you (you're more likely to lose than win) but you fight back and beat those odds. If the odds are in YOUR favor (eg having untouchable bases or having an invincible star), then youre not really coming back from anything
It is not an 'Insane' comeback, most of the supply is probes not mining, misleading title.
SC2 commentators' passive voice is getting more and more on my nerves.
5:10: "...and that was the last hope of Stats; he can't stop the mining of Maru, whereas the base of Stats just went down."
vs. "...and that was Stats' last hope; he can't stop Maru's mining, whereas Stats' base just went down."
I get that they're on stream and thinking quickly, but this is ubiquitous among SC2 casters. You won't hear the same thing on pro sports streams.
