So I’m kinda new to hockey as a fan. Do you have to have a RHD and LHD on the same line? Or can they both be same same hand? Why does it matter what hand they are dominate with? When they are playing defense aren’t they ambidextrous enough to use either when defending?
Also, they want the best out of the player when they’re on the ice. Not worth having someone switch sides if they’re best on the strong hand. Has more to do with offense, breakouts, etc. straight up defending with your stick doesn’t quite matter what hand
When you’re playing on your off side… you have to pick the puck with your backhand everytime the puck is laying along the boards, which makes mishandling much more likely. Also complicates defending a forward coming with some speed off the rush a little bit On transition, the blade of your stick will be in the middle of the ice (with puck on your stick) rather than closer to the outside / boards, which makes a turnover lot more costly (breakaway right in the middle, vs having to come alongside the boards)
No, you do not pass on a player like demigod!!! It would be one thing if Levshnov was the next Cale Makar but he’s not he’s not even the best defenseman in the draft
@@Chewbachiwell I dont think Cale Makar was thought to be what he is today. If the Flyers and Devils knew that they probably would have picked him. I hope everyone passes Demidov over until the Flyers so he could play with his boy Michkov. Its a hope but a little more realistic for the Flyers would be Catton or Helenius.
Plenty of guys in this years top 8-10 players are great and look like great draft picks, plenty of teams and fanbases will be satisfied with the new player they get, but when it comes to the Blackhawks at #2 there is only one correct selection: Ivan Demidov. And it's not even close.
Verbeek is kicking the tires on Demidov, huh? Usually not the type of player he goes for. That skillset though. Hard not to take a good look at it. Something tells me if Demidov interviews well with Anaheim and Chicago doesn't pick him, he will go to the Ducks. If that's the case, they really can't lose; Demidov or Levshunov; arguably the best winger in the draft or arguably the best D in the draft and an RD at that. Good times ahead! Go Ducks!
First, I thought Chicago would go for Lindstrom, because I had him ranked 2nd, but over time I changed my mind. I don't think Chicago are going to pass on the opportunity because of Demidov's potential high ceiling. Demidov and Bedard could become the next best dynamic duo since Selanne and Kariya. I am not kidding, which is why I am skipping over McDavid and Draisaitl, because they're not that dynamic. This time around, the Canadian would be the right handed natural shooter, and the international player the left handed playmaker. I project Demidov's ceiling somewhere between Mogilny and Kovalev. I think his floor is something like Igor Larionov or Esa Tikkanen. Like OV in his beginning, Demidov has some Pavel Bure blood, but all three have different styles. His partner Bedard's shot is better than what Selanne's was. So if you put Demidov with Bedard, it'll be like putting a Mogilny with a Lafontaine who shoots better than Brett Hull. I don't see how Chicago can escape picking Demidov! The Sharks will get Celebrini, so it's only fitting that ANA picks Demidov if he is available. It'll be like Crosby vs Ovechkin all over again. Celebrini vs Demidov! I project Celebrini's ceiling to be somewhere between Crosby and Toews. He's going to become captain of the Sharks pretty soon. In this scenario, SJ and ANA become the best teams of their division and battle it out in the years 2030! Maybe then in 2030 the Hawks regret picking Levshunov because he became a 4. Or maybe they regret picking Lindstrom even if he reached his "John Leclair" ceiling because he only lasted as long as Lindros did or because it took a bit a time for him to become a solid starter just like Leclair; a late bloomer, while Demidov was already a star at the age of 20. You started off with a quote by Cam Robinson saying that Demidov "WILL" be signed and "IN NHL NHL BY NEXT SPRING". He then goes on to say he "SHOULD be ready to cross over by the end of the NHL regular season". It is specifically described as loud buzz for a reason IMO. Meanwhile you yourself mention Michkov using words like "Could".... "IF".... "Probably", and then adding "Might" with Demidov. Smh. Russian prospects are different than any players, from any other country. With NA players or Euro players, if they are good enough, and get signed, then the percentages say they'll definitely play in America or Canada at some pro level. As for Russians, there are always concerns of their game transitioning to the NA game, as well as the Russian government hoarding their players and not wanting them to go to the NHL. Basically there are always risks with Russians for a reason, because there have been problems with them in the past. Like most Russian prospects, there are no guarantees. Until someone has an actual ELC, and is 100% in America/Canada and playing, there are no promises that cannot be undone, especially with how Russia doesn't honor NHL contracts these days. It is all just rumors and best guesses these days. Quit stirring the pot when nothing is set in stone. Everyone needs to get on the same page about which exaggerations to stick to. 😂

Both Michkov and Demidov are from the SKA. From the other hand Silaev is from province and owned by current Igor Larionov club Torpedo. Way more adequate person and the club.
Ee-van, not Aye-van.
Ee-von actually because you have to say it with the Russian accent of course. 🤣
Grav baby give it to me straight!! Don’t lead me on like this if you haven’t heard that from a reliable source!
Blackhawks will take Demidov at 2
Only “confirmed” by his agent lmao
There is a picture of him beside Levshunov who is 6'2" and Demidov looks at least 3 inch shorter.
How is this new news, or a change in stock? He’s been projected to go 2nd or 3rd for as long as I can remember.
demidov has A skating atleast
Doug Dimmadome
Hawks need scoring now, not a RHD.. Demidov takes pressure off Bedard to produce and carry the team.
Demidov to ANAHEIM!
Wouldnt shock me he goes 1st overall
Flyers badly want Demidov just don't believe they can get down that far to get him
Demidov will just go to sochi to develop
Hoping the habs take him. C'mon let the habs just get a star for once.
Hawks should take him. They have a few good young defenders coming up.
A D-Man with a C- defense rating??? No thanks.
Bhawks can’t lose, either way
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Too much talk for potential how you guys listen too these UA-cam podcasts is beyond me 🤣🤣🤣
Levshunov isn't going to sell a lot of season ticket packages, Demidov will. If they don't take Demidov they will end up having to play against him.
I’m hoping the ducks take him at 3.
Verbeek openly stated he is looking for a top six winger or a top four D-man...especially an RD. With Verbeek meeting with Demidov I have a feeling it will be either him or Levshunov. Either way the Ducks young guns are going to get even better. Just a matter of time before they are a powerhouse and legit playoff team again.
How low is he gonna 10th
10th would be a HUGE drop IMO, I honestly don't see Montreal passing up on him especially if Lindstrom is gone!
@@GravitehHockey hot take but I think parekh goes 2nd
@@TheJimmyStDenisShow Parekh's game is not super translatable to the nhl..
@@TheJimmyStDenisShow Earliest that Parekh goes is 6th. Farthest that Demidov drops is 4th.
Good grief, bruh. Too many pucks to the head.
Bedard and Parekh would be sick.. Parekh and Korchinski at the back
We should be talking about the "real" downsides: Knee injuries and MHL. Not contract doubts.
I've heard the knee injuries are healing well and seem to be flukes, but yep the MHL can be a worry
@@GravitehHockey Hey, Grav. He said in an interview this week that he hasn't been on ice since the 2nd knee injury during the MHL playoffs, but will be in 2 weeks. Ironically, right after the draft. My spidey senses are tingling big-time 🕷😄. I smell some Russian propaganda, haha.
lol at this guys gambling ads now, I swear its his only reason for creating videos
Bro always put the habs logo in the thumbnails for the delusional habs fan clicks
Here we are after the 1st round….Demidov is a Habs….
XD
Guy grows 3cm top 5 baby lol. Sillyness
When you’re talking about a player from Russia “almost signing” doesn’t give the most confident vibe.
if hawks take demidov hes gonna resign in the khl. he doesnt want to work for that player molestor franchise.
Quit trolling
