i just started finger boarding, and i see a lot of comments saying that they can’t even flip the board. i was having trouble with that aswell. the way i got the hang of it was by doing it on my bed or on a couch. that way the board can flip back easier because there’s less to stop the board from flipping. i sat in my bed and did this for a few hours, it really helped. once you get the hang on it then you can move to a table. doing wallys also really help getting the motion (plus they’re fun asf).

I swear down, couldn't do an ollie at all. My mate took my fingerboard to prove it wasn't just the board, so now I'm practising like hell. Can't ollie yet, but the wally is so fun to do, and then I grind along the top and drop down again. Looks sick as hell

*Back-foot impossible hack:* For me, the easiest way (and the most authentic/realistic way in my opinion) to somewhat consistently land a back foot impossible, is to first line up the tip of your front finger near the top edge of the middle of the board, and your back finger placed the same position as your front finger is, except your back finger is in the pocket of the tail of the board. (Board-ception MonkaW)
Do not go too far or too low, but if you feel the need to adjust, try experimenting by shifting your front finger wherever you might feel like you would set the trick (In mention to the second step). Second, you need to scoop your back finger into shuv-it motion and curl your finger (literally curl it) and try to dig under or wrap your finger around the pocket or tail of the board while in the air.
If you feel like the board didn’t pop high enough, try to put and/or set your mind into picturing yourself doing a tre-flip, but instead, physically attempt a back foot impossible, that way, you are tricking your brain into scooping your board faster, and popping the board higher, while wrapping and curling your back finger around the pocket and tail of the board.
Moral of the story, sometimes, picturing or imagining yourself doing a different trick that is in a similar motion as the trick you are actually about to attempt might help you get the board in motion better. I hope this helps, and have a great day! Go shred! 😎🤙

Lol I can't even do the flip back
Edit: I'm been playing around with it and I finally succeeded when I stood up (cause I was frustrated) and hit the tail as hard as I could, it flipped over (over exceed a little) but then I kind of got it after that. I think my mistake was that I was hitting it way too soft and it wasn't really popping, it would like a droopy pop and then it slide forward. It may help you guys if you just try hitting the tail (really at the edge) quite hard.

Originally I used to use my Pointer and my Ring finger on the board and my Middle finger represented an arm.
That way you could literally use your Middle finger "arm" for Method Grabs etc.
Using your thumb as another arm you can then hit vert and Hand Plant with the thumb while grabbing with the middle.
That was like 20 year ago though before Flips etc became the bread and butter of skate

This is a very good tip. If you’re watching this practice on your leg and off obstacles in your free time. You can eliminate rolling the board all the way over such as the 3rd finger as well and it’ll be just as clean. Once you get it down. Focus on the hight of the ollie by trying to get over an obstacle. Then you’re GOLDEN and for a kickflip just make a peace sign after the ollie.

Hi this helped me a lot actually And I would use it if you’re trying to learn how to fingerboard and I am new so it was right when it said for beginners so I appreciate you helping me and I did pick up a book on how to use finger boards and it came with your tech deck so I’ve been using that a lot lately
