- The Spinosaurus, also known as "Assest 87" was a dinosaur that was first introduced to our screens in 2001. It quickly became a fan favourite with it killing off a Tyrannosaurus Rex and having one of the best designs in the franchise. But what as the story behind this Menacing Creature? Interesting how people really don't like Jurassic park 3 but spinosaurus has a huge fan base which appeared only in this movie.
I liked the third one spino and dr grant but not really the rest of human cast lol
It's not that people don't like JP3. Its just that they like it LESS than the first two.
JP3 is still a good movie overall, especially considering its troubled development. It definitely has some great moments. The main problems with it are its plot, which comes across as irrelevant, not really adding anything to the previous two movies (it's just a chase story) as well as a few annoying characters and a couple stupid scenes.
Overall its still watchable, even enjoyable. It didn't really "ruin" the previous two movies by any means. It just didn't really add anything to them either.
I rewatched the movie and noticed how it could have been turned into quite a good horror film with good char development and more but it really does not fit into the jurassic park genre then, if they made a remake but made it a spin off horror, now that would be much better and also i feel a few changes to the script with some strong emotional plot points and more characters would have made it a lot better oh and add in the Spino hunting them even more cause this is and was no normal spino.

Park 3 is my favorite movie
I love the Spinosaurus, but the only problem is, even if he does appear in seasons 4 & 5, we never get to see his character. Yes, he's subject to cruelty and we know about the Amalgam Testing, but we've never gotten to see one on-screen, and this is what the audiences wanted to see what happened to Isla Sorna.

Everyone used to hate him, but now Spino is one of the most beloved dinosaurs of this franchise, I'm just glad he's ok, enjoying his retirement on what was once Mantah Corp Island.

Yeah, I first hated the spinosaurus because I thought the T-Rex he killed was Rexy.
Seeing that when I was twelve had me like:"No! No! You can't kill the main T-Rex of this series and just replace him! What is wrong with you people!?"(Yeah, I thought Rexy was a dude back then...)
But after learning why this dinosaur was so aggressive, I no longer blame him for his actions.

Spino had a bigger character arc in the fanbase than any Netflix original ever had.
In all honesty, if the Spinosaurus really was on the mainland, I think we’d know considering how much of an ecological impact this thing has. It’s probably still on Mantah Corp island. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next

I find it really tragic that the Spinosaurus had to have such negative experiences with humans, hence shaping it to be the way it is. Hopefully, it becomes more neutral towards humans if it gets a more fleshed out storyline in future adaptations.
Yeah I'm hoping that the spinosaurus will warm up towards humans in the future.
It's really tragic that the spinosaurus has a negative experience with the humans and sometimes I imagine that if I rescue the Spinosaurus from certain poachers or evil people that want to use the spinosaurus for notorious purposes I would watch over it with my very life and protect it and keep an eye on it and if I keep protecting it and still watching it over it over the years it will learn how to trust humans and then I might form a bond with the Spinosaurus then the Spinosaurus will learn how to trust people.
I doubt it'll ever get over its mistrust of humans. From grazing its spine with a plane, to mind controlling it and who knows what else. I think it'll always zero in on chasing humans.

Ikr? I have always wanted to see a project/ movie done all about site b and how it was before it was abandoned. I find it eerily creepy with the baby dinosaurs in the test tubes in the lab, knowing they are long dead after the island has been abandoned and nature took it back.
I really hope to see more of Asset 87, especially in the new series coming soon. Also can you do Bumpy next

Loving these story videos Swrve, I loved learning the story of my favourite carnivore ever since I first saw Jurassic Park 3. The Spinosaurus is such an amazing speices and hope that if there's anything to do with the franchise in the future that the Spinosaurus will return once again!
Me too I love this story the spinosaurus is such an amazing large carnivore ever and Jurassic park 3 is what got me interested in the spinosaurus and I would love to see it again in future franchises but we're just going to have to wait and see right ?

The one that is weird for me is Toro the carnotaurus. Camp Cretaceous season 5 had him moved to Mantacorp Island, but he also was supposedly the carno at the end of Fallen Kingdom.
If I remember correctly, they never confirmed that they two carnotauros were the same, so I guess this seals the deal.

This makes a lot of sense. I always was annoyed thinking the spino's skeleton was at Jurassic World outside to be exposed to the weather. Since that was the only one they had, it just seemed like a dumb idea.
Honestly my jaw dropped when the Spinosaurus was victorious over Big ET, but I guess the producers for camp cretaceous didn't want to recreate a death scene for the T rex

I really do hope we get to see the spino in live action again. It was cool seeing it in Camp cretaceous but i would much rather see it in live action where it isnt cartoony looking lol.

Seeing the spino again was awesome, the second I seen it in JP3 I fell in love, seeing it in CC was also great which made me like it even more.
Apparently the Spinosaurus was meant to appear in JW Dominion, where he would’ve helped Rexy defeat the Giganotosaurus, but this idea was scrapped and was instead replaced with the Therizinosaurus helping Rexy in the final fight.

I think it was very clear in the film that Ramsey was talking about the Tyrannosaur when he talks about Alex predators. Given that he mentions right after that BioSyn just got Rexy in the valley. It would’ve been cool if the writers meant the Spino, but they definitely were talking about the tyrannosaur
I remember someone disagreeing with this theory, since they also stated that Rexy would’ve been wreaked by the Giga. That’s what they said, not me.

Me and this Spino have quite the history.
JP 3 was the first JP movie i watched, and i was probably one of the few who admired the Spino for being able to kill a Rex. Naturally, with more recent evidence, i have accepted that it is impossible for an accurate Spino to even consider fighting one.
Still, with the impact it left on me, i identified myself as it in my childhood. Embarassing as it is, i used to call myself "SpinoEye"
Horrific name, i agree, hence why i don't call myself that anymore.
And here i learn that i share the same number with it. "87."
I love the still animations. I'd love to know how you do it. Art and animation are not my strong suit but I do find it interesting.
Didn't Dogson know about Mantah Island and when he found out that "Asset 87" is Spino and that Biosyn was behind its creation so technically Spino is Biosyn's Asset and sent a secret covert team to extract it?

I got the impression the apex predator rivalry with Giganotosaurus Ramsay Cole was referring to was with the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Since it was recently captured and introduced to the new environment at that time.

Ramsay's "At least for now" when talking about the giga being the apex was in relation to it being the *only* apex. The "for now" being in reference to Rexy who was about to be added to the area after being captured, since it would then mean the giga was no longer the only apex. Unfortunately, no relation to the spino.

Love the story of the Spinosaurus I always wonder if the spinosaurus was still around after the events of Jurassic Park 3 the spinosaurus is my favorite big carnivore the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies plus the Giganotosaurus and the T-Rex and the Spinosaurus is one of the most ferocious of predators on isla sorna and and Jurassic Park 3 is what got me interested in the Spinosaurus and will be in my memory for years to come and I'm glad the spinosaurus returned in Jurassic world Cretaceous season 4 and you are right it's probably still living on mantah Corp Island as of 2022 and I'm glad that bumpy the Ankylosaurus was able to survive from the volcanic eruption of isla nublar and that she's able to live on mantah corp island. If it was me I would take bumpy and the rest of the Dinosaurs like Pierce the kentrosaurus and Toro the Carnotaurus and big eatie and little eatie the T-Rex`s and those three Baryonyx I would take them to the Biosyn valley or I'll keep an eye on them and watch over them and protect them and if there are illegal breeding facilities that specializes in cloning smilodons and selling them to Black markets or underground fight clubs I would find them and I would shut them down and I would find a good home for those smilodons I think I would take him to a DFW sanctuary in Arizona where I'll keep an eye on the smilodons and I'll protect them and if I find the spinosaurus on mantah Corp island I'll probably take it to a DFW sanctuary that specializes in housing dinosaurs anywhere around the world or anywhere in the US where I'll keep an eye on the Spinosaurus and maybe study it and if there are other Spinosauruses anywhere in the US or around the world I would find it and I would bring it to the DFW sanctuary where the spinosaurus wouldn't have to be alone.
I'm just a big fan of these dinosaurs at the movies and all I ever wanted is to protect them from people that want to use them for sinister purposes and I want to protect them with my very life and if any bad person who wants to harm the dinosaurs I would have them arrested.

Can you do the life of Toro? I think it will be a good idea, and also Toro is one of my favorite character (Giga is my favourite. Toro is a 5th.) I would like to see how he evolved in the series.
I think it's reasonable to assume that even if the specific 2001 Spino might be done for, the DNA itself is probably still available to somebody in the universe and could be used for production. This feels especially plausible considering the sheer amount of industry espionage.

I’ve always loved the spino. He’s so badass. I know a lot of people don’t like it, but Jurassic Park III has a special place in my heart because my dad took me to see it in the theater as a kid and the spino was so cool to me even then. I think it’s ridiculous that people hate him just because he killed some random T. Rex (there’s no way it’s the same T. Rex from the first movie. It wasn’t even on the same island). I’m so glad the spino is finally getting the appreciation he deserves.

See, I was familiar with a different story for the Spinosaurus, as told in the Scan Command/Dinosaur Battles Game. In this, the player actually creates the Spinosaurus, who eventually goes wild after the Dino Voc technology you use to control it is taken offline.
I love the rewriting of history that is "Oh it was just a juvenile and it wasn't really the same Rex, blah blah blah" They totally underestimated what killing a tyrannosaur would do to the series. How good of an idea was it to kill of Optimus Prime back in '86? How smart of an idea was it to whack Han Solo and Luke? Make zero mistake that was a Tyrannosaurus the way we have always known it and they totally missed the mark by killing it. Now we apply bandaids to the issue "Oh it wasn't fully grown". Hahaha.
To be fair, the Trex that was killed wasn’t Rexy, and I’ve heard some cases of it being a sub-adult.

Turning it into a “abused” character is stupid. They ruined what made it so terrifying and scary. It was the apex predator that killed and hunted because it wanted to and nothing could stop it. It was the embodiment of pure evil in the JP films. Aaaaand now they ended up ruining it, like the T Rex and Raptors.

They were rearing the young dinosaurs before moving them to nublar that’s what was happening
Most of the Nublar Dinosaurs are born on Sorna even Rexy/Roberta notice at the end of JWD, Rexy met Buck and Doe in a friendly manner meaning they might have known each other when they are young or they are Siblings.
7:22 one scene in Jurassic world the T-Rex destroys the Spino bones and I thought it was kind of like the T-rex getting revenge on the Spino for being killed
That's the skeleton of one of the old design of Spino it's similar to the Isles Legacy Spino.
