My favorite will always be the big one from JP. she’s so calculating, intimidating, and cold. She’s the best antagonist in the JP franchise, being extremely threatening to the protagonists without having much screen time
Theorized to be the first raptor to turn male. It kind of make sense with it killing the other raptors.
i wouldve rather seen the 37 velociraptors from the book than the 3 from the movie lol.
@@azrasashima3733honestly I love the three, but if I had to choose I would have eight instead.
Something I’d like to know can the two tribes on Sorna the quilled and tiger stripes breed? They must be able to since there both raptors. I know the Jurassic World app game had something kinda like this with the gen 2 raptor having the stripes of the tiger subspecies and the large white stripe like the males of the quilled subspecies food for thought
They are technically the same species, with probably minimal genetic differences, so I would assume it's entirely possible. More or less like how different ethnic groups of humans can look very different but are still the exact same species.
There the same just one has different colors Nad has quils doesn't really matter
I feel like they would be classed like close cousins, a bit like a doberman dog and a rottweiler dog, very similar but also have their differences
They probably could but they most likely won't. Both of the raptor packs are on different sides of the island and I feel like they wouldn't like eachother.
It's entirely possible
I love all the designs for the velociraptors in this series their so unique!
2:35 because it's deinonychus, which were native to the region of modern Montana.
The raptors in Jurassic park are only called Velociraptors in name. But they are Deinonychus.
At the time of the book/first movie, it was hotly debated and Deinonychus was considered to be part of the Velociraptor genus. Velociraptor antirrhopus, which is confirmed in the book. Velociraptor mongoliensis is the little one from Mongolia.
Three thing
1: Fun fact: much like Quilliam and McFlurry, The Big One’s subordinates also had fan-names being named Randy and Kim, of course they aren’t Canon but may or may not become canon like Rexy some day. And for context if you keep track of behind the scenes stuff then you can actually see which raptor is which in the movie (except for Muldoon’s death) The Big One was in the maintenance shed and Randy and Kim were in the kitchen, Randy was trapped in the freezer and Kim was actually the one who gave Rexy her iconic scars not The Big One like commonly claims.
2: Also JP:TG is considered “soft-canon” not “non-canon” (unless it’s been declared differently recently which if so I’m not aware of) which to me feels like the games events did infact occur just details would be different, obvious ones would be the Dilophosaurus’ colour, adult size and population (in canon Jurassic Park had 5 Dilo’s and in the game it’s like 20) Gerry Harding would have looked different, those raptors I imagine would be the same as JP variant, and of course the main one: Rexy did not destroy the visitor center and some other smaller things (plus Isla Nublar wasn’t bombed but that could have just been called off for whatever reason and the intent was still there) and the games Troodons have been made technically canon thanks to the Dinotracker twitter but again, only on a technicality (same with herrerasaurus but only with their design, they were already confirmed to be in Jurassic park, four of them might I add which was the amount in the game)
And 3: this is a bit arguable but the JP raptors and TLW tiger striped raptors are likely the same variant the JP raptors actually being the females and TLW female design being retconned, again I’m not sure on this but dinotracker (twitter) indicates this, besides it would be simpler
the animatronic for rexy also had its own name much like bruce the shark from jaws, which was roberta.
Actually @TMK411 the raptors were not called Randy and Kim, those were the names of the people who were going to be working on the scene. This has been disproven so many times.
The big one from Jurassic park 1 will always be my favourite!
Great video going over all the raptors from the Jurassic franchise.
Thank you for making this video and ANYTHING Velociraptor related, as they are my number one favorite dinosaur in the Jurassic franchise! I can’t wait to see the of Blue, Beta, and any new velociraptors.
Just imagine how cool would it be to see the Tribe C Velociraptors from Trespasser in a future Jurassic movie. A big tribe of Velociraptors with a big Utahraptor as their alpha.
It isn't a ultaraptor. It was a female raptor who is for some reason bigger in size and more intelligent than the other raptors. She escaped her cell alone and forced the humans to retreat to another place.
All the raptors look cool in their own way. 😎🦕🦖
It's possible there was another pack of raptors on Sorna as well *spoiler warning*
In 'The Evolution of Claire' a pack was flown in from Isla Sorna to Isla Nublar during Claire's time as an intern on the island and was unfortunately responsible for the death of another intern, Justin Hendricks.
There is some speculation this pack and what remained of Jurassic Park's first pack helped form the basis of the genome which led to the creation of Blue and her sisters
Swrve, I think you might have missed 1 color variation that we did see on screen for a few seconds. In the Lost World when Sarah is hanging on the roof and makes the one raptor fall down to the other, I swear one of them looks green compared to the yellow/tan of the other
I thought I was the only guy who realized it, glad to know someone else noticed.
I saw this scene where the raptors fight, I have doubts if in the movie he is really green, being different from the animatronic, or was he green because of the dark environment or the lighting?
I think you guys are seeing things, or colourblind.
I saw it to
The smartest Raptors in the movie came courtesy of JP3. With their ability to set traps, talk to each other, call for help, and even extend mercy (when they found the eggs, they could've killed all the humans). The Raptors from LWJP2 are my personal favorite, as they are depicted as surplus hunters and attack the house beautifully before they turned on each other. Those LWJP2 Raptors felt vastly more vicious and ferocious. The Raptors in JW1 felt way too Circus-ish and Zoo-ish. Indoraptor didn't get the due acknowledgement it deserved. Indoraptor's behaviour should have been along the lines of the Big One from JP1. It was a good development overall, but Indoraptor could have been a tad more terrifying.
I always like the velociraptor in the jurrasic Movies, Btw My Favorite velociraptor is blue and The Velociraptor in isla sorna. + Can you do a story about bumpy or Ceratosaurs.
My favorite Velociraptor designs is the Jurassic Park 3 ones
Same.
Great video, as always. I wonder if Quilliam and McFlurry will become canon names, sort of like how Rexy's name was.
P.S. I still argue that parts JP:TG are canon, though. In fact, I think it's more canon than Trespasser and JW: Aftermath.
Yep, there are several specific references to it in the various website stuff such as the Herrerasaurus being found dead.
@William Afton Oh. I forgot about that.
Quilliam became canon due to a mention of his name in a recent tweet.
Not recent, actually 2 years ago
I got so say, I love all raptor designs, the big one design is a classic, the tiger stripe is nostalgic, the quil varient are intresing and the raptor squad (and beta) are unique. Though the mantah corp varient I could care less, I dont hate them, they could've put a little more effort into the designs. Overall this franchis and these raptos will alwasy have a special place in my heart, even if these raptors tear it out.
I would like to see velociraptors actually have feathers future Jurassic World projects!
There is also the JP3 Raptor referred to as the Hunter was on Nublar until he was killed while Jurassic World was under construction (Evolution of Claire), that's followed by the first IBRIS line which were put down (Jurassic World's website). V-2 was one of them there.
You also have the Desert Raptors (Jurassic World: Live Show). The V-3's mentioned might be part of it, potentially being excised because of the shows issues due to COVID shutdown.
Technically, you might also have whatever hatchlings were in the wild for Jurassic Park, while they don't directly show them, you see the freshly hatched nest and footprints leading away...so, I'd assume they hatched before the storm since the tracks were still distinct there.
What do the desert raptors look like!?
@@herculesgarcia3628 Similar to the JW raptors, I think there might be some images of them on the Live Show site, I'd ended up missing the show when it came near me...
@@AzraelThanatos interesting! I’ll have to search for them thank you
Really amazing video on different velociraptors from all Jurassic movie.
My personal favourite is the male jp3 ones because I really like there colours and quills I honestly wish they had more apearences because imo they got the least amount of action out of any raptor in the franchise
We’re the only ones who think this but I totally agree
That's not the big ones eyes in the beginning of Jurassic Park. That's raptor was killed as it was killing the man. They were shooting it with spas 12 at point blank range.
man I really liked the back story that Jurassic park the game brought wish they would find a way to canonize it!! great video love these saga vids you've been doing
@Pee Pee the rest of the game doesn't really take away from the story either from what I remember. In my mind it's cannon!
@Pee Pee but did we see it crushed I can't remember? I'll have to do a play through again
@Pee Pee that's right and that's was more in line with the book. Anyway I believe some of it can definitely be canonized and others not so much!
The JP Velociraptor is acruallt Deinonychus. Whichbis bigger and did live in North Amirica. Deinonychus antirrhopus is called Velociraptor antirrhopus in the JP universe. Where it is seen as a subspecies of Velocoraptor.
It was a hotly debated topic at the time of the first movie and book whether Deinonychus was part of the Velociraptor genus. It was basically Michael Crichton making that decision on the side of them being part of it.
What if little eatie from camp creatacous was the baby Rex from the lost world? Is she?
Outstanding video dude keep it up dude
Wait, i didn't know the raptors in JP were originally placed in this huge paddock under the Trex paddock (look Isla Nublar map, the laddock that looks like a claw). So they attacket the fences there on weaknesses and were replaced into this smaller paddock thing. i always thought they always had been in this little thing because of the intro
The big one is my favourite raptor. Also the big one is the fridge raptor? Please respond if you think differently.
My brother loves these videos, he just started playing jwe2 and his velociraptor very died of starvation. His favorite velociraptor is blue and echo
The Velociraptors are probably the only reason we keep coming back to these movies
You mean all dinosaurs and not just Velociraptors?
True but I would still watch it…
I would still love these movies even without raptors
Facts
No?
We don't know how the "Big One" was treated to turn her more aggressive than her subordinates. I highly doubt that she was created that way. Something (again, don't know what) must have triggered her, and, for whatever reason, she took it out on all but two of the other Raptors. It's possible that she may have been abused or threatened. Perhaps, she got into a fight with some of the other Raptors since she was brought in as a new member. Maybe, she was teased or tormented by people before they put her in with the others. We'll never know, but something definitely turned her much more aggressive than she would have been if she had been left alone in peace.
That so-called "holding pen" was much akin to a prison ward. I'm sure she must have felt like that, too. In her already unstable condition, she became frightened, confused, and disoriented by the experience of being moved to the prison ward. We don't even know *HOW* they captured her and put her into the crate in the first place. With all she's been through, is it any wonder why she tried to escape and attacked Jophery in that scene? She did what any captured animal would do in such a stressful situation. She defended herself. This is what set the film and the entire franchise in motion.
This is why I have no fear or hate for any of the Raptors in this franchise. They are *NOT* evil, no matter what anyone says. I will never believe that, even if I was held at gunpoint. So, no stranger online will ever convince me to turn against these misunderstood animals. I love them a lot and will continue to do so until my death.
----------------------------------------------------
By the way, I heard some background music that sounded very familiar in this video. It wasn't anything from any of the JP/JW franchise, but it was very familiar. Does anyone else recognize the music playing in the background?
Brother man, we are all here cuz we love the raptors and defend them. Nobody wants to fight with you over something that's universally agreed on. You don't need to worry so much about other people's opinions to the extent that you try this hard to reach the word count on your essay
thank you for mentioning mongolia that means a lot to me
Let me guess... an Oreo McFlurry.
Swrve the V2 Velociraptor that was supposed to be part of the Raptor Squad in Jurassic World was the same Raptor that killed Claire Dearing's Boyfriend in her prose Novel the Evolution of Claire.
QUILLIAM!
I hope Blue and Beta meet some other raptors.
Hey Swrve, I love your videos! I was wondering if that raptor in the opening scene was actually the big one because it gets killed and the big one remains through the movie only dying at the very end with the T-rex. Just thought I would point this out. Keep up the great work tho!
Next make about ceratosaurus
The Big One is my favourite
How did the raptor get to Montana? They are legitimately deinonychus. Deinonychus was found in Montana. At the time of the original film’s release, Deinonychus was still classified as Velociraptor antirrhopus as it was hotly debated. If you read the book too, they are very specifically referred to as antirrhopus. The animal we refer to as velociraptor today is Velociraptor mongoliensis.
Yeah no blue was a lot younger than beta you can tell by there size and with blues head shape being similar to the hatching from Jp1
Velociraptor go brrrrrrr
Nice review, I remember Klayton Fioritti making a similar video.
And I know this video is about movie canon but do u think the desert raptors from Jurassic World Live Tour r still alive ?
Maybe in that universe there might be two species of velociraptors one that lived in North America and one that lived in Asia. The one that lived in Asia might be Turkey size tires in real life jurassic franchise is based on real life paleontology.
Jurassic raptor design is taken from Utahraptors and Deinonychus. Not actual velociraptors
They are legitimately deinonychus. At the time of the book and the first movies, it was hotly debated whether deinonychus was part of the velociraptor genus. Velociraptor antirrhopus (Deinonychus antirrhopus) was found in Montana. Velociraptor mongoliensis was found in Mongolia.
Rotten Tomatoes just deleted multiple positive reviews for Jurassic World: Dominion, this is scummy as hell.
Maybe Blue’s future offspring could be a ‘replacement pack’ to compensate for her sisters
So Swrve here a question, if the raptors v3 are not considered canon although we have a sample of how their render could be in the franchise, do you think or do you consider that it is the same case with the Geosternbergia species? as we get a glimpse of what an animatronic/render might have looked like, but it was never made canon, and was replaced by Pteranodon Longiceps at the end of the Lost World.
This may be a unpopular opinion but personally I like the JP Raptors more (yes the JP 1) they seem more realistic in a weird way
Everyone loves the JP raptors. And yeah they are the most realistic for their time.
My friend really likes your videos it makes him happy keep doin good.
Man what the hell man what the hellllll
Shut it tyler
@@dunce8804 mannnnnnnnnnnn
Epik
Edit: Quilliam is very cool
For the unincluded blue raptor, LEGO actually made a blue one in in that exact colourisation. Whether it's just a coincidence, I think not🤔
With the crazy amount of Velociraptor genetic variant I think I figured out a way to more scientific separate them....
Velociraptor Montanensis • Prehistoric
Velociraptor hammondi nublarensis • 93
Velociraptor tigerensis sornaensis • 97
Velociraptor ingensis sornaensis • 01
Velociraptor masranii nublarensis • 15
You forgot about the airplane velociraptor that says alan and disappears
@Swrve time to do a play through of jurassic Park the game!!!!
The eyes of the Raptors on JP3 were the best. reminds me more of birds.
Even though Trespasser isn't Canon Anymore I has some awesome raptors
Unfortunately Trespasser was never canon even before Jurassic World as it’s timeline continuity was very mixed with film/novel lore and at the end of the day it didn’t add up to the film timeline.
I love velociraptor of Jurassic franchise including blue and her daughter beta
Hi I like you channel and videos
I would love to know about the raptor in The Evolution of Claire & how Claire went to from that girl to who we meet in Jurassic World. Thank you!
Because it is awesome to see the Isla sorna raptors again.
swrve u missed the some uncanon raptors the jurassic park tresspasser raptors cause in this game there were to more raptor tribes on sorna the red dotted raptors and yellow and black stripped raptors and the final boss was the alpha raptor with black and red stripes
The title of the video literally has "Movie Canon" in it, so the Tresspasser raptors are ignored.
@@Bagelgeuse he also said some uncanon raptors aswell tho that were from video games
I like you did another species video. Now just do a Barryonyx species video, namely of the Barryonyx trio. I really wanna see your opinions on limbo being dead, and chaos being in fallen Kingdom.
It is known to super fans the Velociraptors are actually dienonichus comfermd by the Jurassic Park book by crichton.
Blue is my favorite Raptor! 🤩🤩🤩👍🏽👍🏽💯
Make an "Every Sauropod that wasn't added in the movie just to be killed by a carnivore" video 💀
Can you plz make a abounded Jurassic world during Jurassic world and fallen kingdom
Pretty sure the green raptors were from sorna since these dinosaurs have a bunch of tribes and the show did say that they did grab some dinosaurs from isla sorna. Finally they added green raptors though, those are the second best velociraptor colors in my opinion.
You should make another sanctuary build but with every dinosaur
Let’s play Catch Quilliam And McFlurry! :D
Can you maybe ask klayton fioriti if you guys will do a collaboration together let alone make more videos on dragoncurve and his first channel which is the Jurassic Park one
10:30 This looks like if a Quilliam and a Tiger Raptor Breed
Jp raptors : prehistoric serial killers tlw raptors : wild animals great jumpers and the definition of aggression jp3 raptors: intelligent and dangerous animals but overprotective parents jw raptors : trained military animals camp cretaceous S4 and S5: closest the franchise can get to bringing the clever girls back to their classic jp roots
The eyes of the JP3 raptors are the best looking.. more bird like
Will you do every hybrid
the books raptors were so much scarier, not only were they one of the species breeding they started with 8 and ended with 37.
I like the Tiger Stripe Velociraptors in the lost world even though when the movie came out Some people couldn't barely see what color they was but yeah I like those type of raptors
Best raptor, Quilled male raptor from JP3
i kind of always thought the raptor skeleton from the first movie was a closely related species to what was in Mongolia.
I Think the raptors from camp cretaceous are the pack from sorna that didn't get to be in any of the videos
You should do story line of mosasaurs
I still remember what they sound like...i had nightmares when i was younger
Big one is OG and beats all the other🦖
We don't know if there are going to be other raptor like blue or beta
If they won't be the last of their kind
Did we need to see what happens in the future in the Jurassic universe
They also said the big ones pack is also cheetah speed
If there is movies down the line I would like to see them take place on the five deaths maybe or maybe not including sorna
tHE AtROCiRAPtOrS rED TiGEr PANtHErA GHOSt ArE AWESOME i LOVE tHEM ! ALSO BLUE & BEtA tOO tHEy'RE AWESOME!
I wonder why subject v2 was so aggressive? they aren’t born man eaters, so somewhere in its life it learned it can easily kill a human, I wonder when though or why
I’m shocked that he isn’t a universal employee because he knows hella
Nice
I hope they make a tv series or something about isla sorna I would love to see the sorna raptors return
or a movie I think
Can you do triceratops, brachiosaurus, and paras
Can you what about ashroshi raptors and pyro raptor
0:58 DANMARK!?!?!?!? ME HOME
My second favorite types of dinosaurs in the movies. But why wasn't the Indoraptor, Pyro Raptor, and Atrociraptor wasn't included too? Aren't they part if the raptors? Still love your videos Swrve. Keep it up
Raptors yes but we talk about Velociraptor
Read the goddamn title, bro
maybe these velociraptor v3 are the red sorna ones
Sorry, is the Big One the same that ate the worker at the beginning of JP, Muldoon’s “Shoot her!” girl?
My favorite velociraptor is mcflurry and quilliam
And the red velociraptor fun fact: the red velociraptor is supposed to be in the jurrasic park3
Do a theory of the baby raptor
Jurassic world aftermath is actually confirmed canon
Yes it was it isnt anymore
@@creativenamesmth oh Ok
Finally, someone who understands that film logic doesn't have to correspond to the real world
