- Bought myself a Gopro Hero Max to get that super wide FOV and killer stabilisation. It's got a lot of potential, need more time with it to tell if it's the one.

I don't like the look of the footage. It's too streched out and looks just unnatural. Hypersmooth on wide (or superview) is nice to look at and gives you a slight sence of the action going on.

Thoroughly enjoyed the musical nod to Sprung at the beginning.
I didn't really like how the footage looked, but there was something super nice about being able to see the bike moving around beneath you.
Maybe you could record in the taller setting, then crop down in post. That means you can still nudge the camera up or down a touch if its mounted pointing slightly in the wrong direction.

I think its great. On my 43 inch computer screen I can almost feel like I'm there, it gives that super wise perspective like when you ride IRL!
Ever since reading about the MAX I've had this same thought about using this type of cam so glad you filmed it, though the stretch definately looks meh. But the FOV is 👍
Beautiful track and colours, I couldn't stop watching it. Camera wise, I would really love to see the difference using the GoPro 8, I actually really liked seeing something filmed differently like this dispite the huge wide angle/etc
It looks like your arms are 2 m long and as if your bars are 400mm

I love the psilocybin purple hazed fringiness... really sweet. Were y'all trippin? After watching your Mr. Fantastic elasto-man arms work that tiny handlebar I think I'm trippin balls myself
I can't get over the tons of chromatic abberations (= pink fringing around contrasty edges, e.g. trees vs sky)
P.S.: I prefer the look of the footage from the chin mounted gopro 8 (like Phil Kmetz) or, if you want to use a 360 camera, check out the rearward mounted stick on the helmet Ali Clarkson tried with the Insta 360. Don't know about the safety of these compared to the chest mount though...

I have the same problem with the OneX, you need to get the lens closer to the bars, the opposite of the gopro, where is looks best further away. But then the camera gets smacked around when things get rowdy. 360s best for B angles imo.
Perhaps it was the weird colour hue or the bizarre arm stretch ratio but it reminded me of crazy 90s mtb videos featuring the likes of Rob Warner et al. Not sure if that's great or terrible tbh 🤔😂
Distorted is the word I’d use . But the position of it counts as it has 360 vision! Having it on an extendable bar mount could yield some awesome footage which I’ve witnessed on a Drone Film channel, I’ll add the link shortly!

It is smooth, but that's about it for good things, the footage is distorted in many ways and the audio is far from perfect too.
The thing that is annoying is that break in the image in ~1/4 from the sides. It's probably also a bit too much of a stretch of the image, but the stability is great and the riding looks mint! Makes me wanna go ride in the uk for sure, so many great areas to ride!

yeah, it has been written already. The bad stitching of left right and middle doesn't work properly. The total view ist better than the cropped in hypersmooth footage I get from the Hero 7 though. I'd use this cam for cool B-rolls mounted on different parts of the bike, giving different angles, but not a s a chesty anymore. Maybe on a spinny mount? I donno ;)

As long as you ignore the weird effect on your arms the central section which is the filmed bit is great. As you say 16:9 and she'll be reet!

I like it but kinda of looking like your in a round setting. Nice video colors good but I’m on a iPad 11 so maybe the color is good. But on a laptop maybe different to view but the 360 cameras looks like a circle effect. Being your using the front or one camera. Maybe the same effect.
I lasted 3 min. purple tree highlights? that aspect stretch does some trippy stuff to the side frames... when you rinse your gopro in acid please wait 8-12hrs for it to recover before recording ^^ an episode!

It actually made me feel a bit ill watching it. The blurry bits at the sides made me feel like i had a migraine coming on! Definitely prefer the 7 or 8!
Weird pov footage. Looks like you are riding 350mm bars. But i am not a fan of pov in general. Thx for all your work and videos in general. I really enjoy watching them.

The hero 7 pr 8 is better in my opinion for a chest mount. Maybe try an other point of view

Hi, maybe you should better crop to 16/9, instead of the lycra thing. Losing some of your thigh action, though…!?!.
The dynamic range seems quite limited, but there are probably much better results possible, as the recording is very light in general. The color, as in the video above, is 'not good'.
Really don't like that kind of half 360 footage :x not very watchable to enjoy the action to its full extent, a classic wide angle view on supersmooth is far enough, especially on the new 8
The warping is really disorienting and makes the trail look flat, I'm not sold at all sorry mate
It dosent look to good, but might be ok for a race runs etc. So you dont have to faff around with gimbals and trying to race an enduro.

Too wide and distorted, the middle of the frame seems to disappear into the distance, can't really see any detail in the trail. Prefer the look of normal gopro footage to be honest. Some weird squelchy noises (which weren't the terrain!) too lol

eeeeerk... What the heck is that ? Is that from GoPro ?? Wtf I actually think that's the worst camera quality they did since the beginning of the brand. Omg these edges are awfull and the chromatic aberration is overkilled. I personnaly hate it and I think I didn't had to precise it x)
