@SanurDiaries definitely a help. We stayed at Hyatt in June/July and we all loved it. The teens loved relaxing by the pool and my husband and I loved walking along the beach walk. I'm staying at Sagara Villas and suites in January, look forward to being able to explore the area again and sample more of the delicious food options you have shared. The list is growing 😊
I've got a few more up my sleeve as well. My only fear is that I might need to start going further afield in order to not run out of places. Of course there are hundreds of places in Sanur, but I don't to review a hundred pizza places for example.
Another fabulous video Adam! So much helpful information from your lived experiences - you are helping so many people! I learnt about Labuan Bajo a few weeks ago from another channel I follow. I agree with you - it's absolutely gorgeous & well worth the trip. Looking forward to more of your interesting& great advice in the future🤩🤩
I love this format Adam, so informative and different from the main reviews/videos. Please keep it up. Have been to Komodo twice, recently much tamer than many years ago when one really could walk amongs the dragons with only the guide with a small wooden stick to protect us.
Interesting to hear about your more recent experience at Komodo. The thing is, with more and more tourists visiting such a unique place, they have to put in some controls on numbers. I have heard that some of the islands in the area are being devastated by the numbers (such as Padar). We as a species do enjoy loving places to death!
Loving this format, if I haven't already said so on Episode 1!! Small manageable segments that are meaningful, relevant, and current.... And the 'around indonesia' one is especially interesting!! You sir, are a very well travelled person!!! I'm a (SCUBA) diver and I've visited Komodo Island and wielded that ubiquitous staff to ward off advances of these notorious beasts, not that any made the move, and you are right - those dragons are amazing to watch and observe. On the note of your reference to ICON Mall and the weather - it was welcome news for me as my family and I will be there in early October and the information is exactly the kind I'm after, to keep the children entertained! Thank you so much!! Finally, still loving the little translations from Indonesian to English (in blue) - they are helpful in identifying exactly what you're talking about as well as for us viewers to know how to say, or spell them! Cheers for sharing this upbeat little video!! I look out for them almost every day!!
Thank you very much for the feedback! Always looking to improve and keep things moving forward. Not sure if I will have enough to talk about for a video next week, but if I don’t… and update on the weather. It’s even hotter today and a storm passed through last night. Definitely not a wet season feel yet, but it is on its way!
Thanks for this latest video which we found very informative and as always enjoyable to learn more about living in Sanur, looking forward to your next video Adam and thanks again, cheers Denise and Wayne
Glad you enjoyed it! I'll keep putting info about properties up as I come across things that I think are good examples of what's available at certain price points.
Have been enjoying the new content. The news and insights into the Bali/Sanur lifestyle are great! Something I would like to know about is how the pre-paid electricity works in Bali. I know You can get a card and fill it, but I am not sure how or where you get it, and how the whole process works. It's very different than where we live now.
Fantastic question and something I can answer in the next video I do. I’ll answer here as well… basically, pre-paid electricity comes with a smart meter. You buy a “token” from a number of different places such as Indomaret (I buy mine online through GoPay)… you are then given a 20 digit code which you then plug into the meter (it has number buttons on it). That will top your meter with the amount of money you paid for the token. It’s easy and cheap.
So informative… Re buses, my guess is that the public bus system won’t be available to download from outside Bali as it may pose a security risk, plus, I’m certain it would overwhelm their local infrastructure which isn’t prepared for plane loads of tourists. It would also impact the both the locals who likely use the bus system and the car service businesses who rely on tourism.
Yeah maybe. If they put buses on every couple of minutes to places all around the island, I’d say the traffic issue would be decreased somewhat. It’s a start anyway!
@@SanurDiaries yes, definitely shifting away from tourists renting scooters to using tour buses or tour vans instead would be the best for their infrastructure!
Hi Adam, I just thought of another idea for your show. A Bali cooking show doing a private cooking class showcasing a dish each cooking episode. which intern promoting the cooking schools in the area. It would be educational and entertaining for all of us. I did a cooking class in Sanur, last time I was in Bali, at Bamboo Shoots cooking school. Highly recommend and learnt how to make my favourite dish Matabak 😋 Oh, also nice shir, did you buy in Bali, if so where?
Yeah I could do something along these lines. I do have some ideas, but it would really require a private class with no other participants. I'll see what I can do.
Oh yeah, forgot to add. This shirt was bought in Australia. It’s a Ben Sherman linen shirt. I couldn’t find the exact model online, but you should be able to google Ben Sherman linen and find something similar.
Interesting you should mention that... last time I was there I had to work at night in -4º conditions... it was brutal! And the heat in Bali is different even to the Queensland heat in my opinion. I just sweat so much more in Bali.
Exactly the issue. But if you view it as rental, you can get your head around it. Especially if you already own property in Australia and rent that out in order to “pay” for the place in Bali.
@@SanurDiaries Oh right well then yes that's different as your getting capital gains for the future. BTW, thanks for making my day about the Big Head topic, I LOL 😂😂
OK, so I think you might be referred to a particular visa type called an investment visa. This is separate to the property rules. You can long lease a property separate to whether you have any right to live in Indonesia. The right to live in Indonesia is determined by your visa type and there are many different options that a visa agent can help you with. I know people (viewers of this channel in fact) who have long leased properties first and then figured out how to get a visa later. I haven't really talked about this stuff on my channel yet because I'm not qualified to give advice and it's an area that really needs the help of an expert. Needless to say, if you want to live in Indonesia right now as a foreigner, you. If you want to lease a place for 30 years legally, you can. It's just a matter of getting the right professional advice so you don't get ripped off.
An update from @BalilifewithRichard is that Aussie Orange is still open, but for how much longer we don't know.
Great information again. Really enjoy this format, and still love your reviews as well.
Awesome, thank you!
Fabulous content categories Adam....relevant, entertaining, inciteful. Keep up the good work!
Much appreciated Lynne!
Thanks Adam for your content. Have used many of your videos to assist with our last family holiday and also my upcoming solo trip in January.
Fantastic! Glad it’s been helpful for you. I know it’s sometimes hard to get a lay of the land and hopefully the videos are helping with that.

Glad you like!
I love avocado juice with a shot of chocolate through it, yum.
Absolutely!
Currently staying in Jl Pantai Sindhu at wayan homestay. Warung Orange is still open 😊
Thanks for the update! Must have just been late opening when I went past.

The cinema is great and Sanur now has an IMAX
Yeah that's definitely a positive.

Another informative session. Looking forward to any goss you have along the way. You dont work in Perth by any chance when your back in Australia?
No I don’t. Recently I’ve been heading into Queensland.
@SanurDiaries oh OK thanks. No climate adjustments there!

@SanurDiaries I haven't been to Queensland so prob best not to speculate ha! But yes Bali brings on that sweat for sure.
What happens in 20 years as leasing you getting no capital gains, it's a tough one 🤔
