Nice early harvest. Mine start coming next week, but it's an off year. In January, the Moorpark apricot arrive. I trimmed my Rocoto today, a true beast.
I always wanted to graft a moorpark onto this tree because I wasn't getting much fruit but it seems to have found its feet now. If I net it better next year it will be great because not much else is ready at this time of year here. Cheers George 👍
Its interesting our Elche pomegranites are dropping flowers as well. Looks like a lean season. Your place is so neat and a credit to you. Love a good apricot.
Thank you Patrick. I'm going to modify my fish pond filtration from the current natural bog filter which takes up enough space for 3 or 4 fruit trees next year. Cheers 👍
Great looking harvest to me, I'm doubtful if apricots would be that early in summer in our climate. I have one in a pot so I'll be interested to see how it does
@@UrbanBounty I got it last Winter, probably a 2 year old graft at the time from the size of it ( 3 seasons old now ) so will probably have a few flowers next Spring 🤞
I'm guessing it was fruit bats or lorikeets early morning. Whatever it was is chewing through the red tie band and then sliding the bag off. I even found a bag down the street. It/they must have learned over the years and seen these bags before
Thats early which is good - im getting rid of peaches and curl issue for Plums and apricots - Ben Hur is frustrating - We Should Complain to grower - those are mainly male flowers mine had none agajn - could be tbose magician rats - they even chew my tomatoes thru tha bag 😳
G'day mate, yeah I haven't been able to find any footage or blog of a Ben Hur with lots of fruit but it keeps us trying because it always looks like it's going to be good next season. Might be rats actually. I had forgotten about them. Without stone fruits you'll have more room for tropicals.

Thanks mate, I originally started a bird attracting garden but people told me an edible garden is more rewarding and fun they were correct 👍
