Christine was am amazing talent that was quite a bit overlooked while she was alive. She was a prolific song writer, keyboard and voice.. RIP Christine McVie
One of the very first big hit songs from Fleetwood Mac was "Over My Head" with Christine on lead vocals. That song got huge airplay but was lost after other songs were released. Give it time Chrisine's songs will grow on you, she has so much feeling in her vocals.
to many folks sleep on Christine Mcvie vocals and songwriting. it wasn't just Stevie Nicks singing and writing all these musical gems that play as the background of memories for most of a generation.
Where is the evidence of that? I don't know any Fleetwood Mac fans, or any music critics and journalists who haven't given Christine McVie massive props. We know how good she is and what she contributed to the band, and just because Stevie Nicks got more attention doesn't mean McVie wasn't and isn't appreciated.
@@MarkMay-cr6bv I think he's talking about the more casual or non-fans - the ones who associate "Fleetwood Mac" with Stevie singing, excluding both Lindsey and Christine to an extent.
In fact it was the least...Stevie Nicks, that is. Most of the creative genius in FM came from Lindsey and Christine, the driving rhythm came from Mick and John who were there all along.
RIP Christine McVie! Gone way too soon! A few of my favorite songs with her singing the lead are Over My Head, Say You Love Me, You Make Loving Fun, & Everywhere!
Christine McVie had some good solo work as well “Gotta Hold on Me” probably her best work! I was 12-13 when in first saw her music video and I automatically had a huge crush on her! She will be missed RIP Christine!
Christine said this song was about Lindsey Buckingham and knowing he was leaving the band after he made this album (Tango In The Night - 1987) but wanting to believe little lies that he would stay. She said she sometimes liked writing songs that sounded like love songs but weren't and vice versa.
Their song, Tusk, goes to show you their iconic level considering its the college marching band, USC/Trojans fight song. Back in the 70's, Fleetwood Mac had them take part in the song. Ever since then the Trojans marching band has had it as part of their playing catalog. Check it out both videos, Original and Live versions! Live version always gives me goosebumps. 😊
Christine McVie was in the band long before Stevie and Lindsay. Composed many songs and passed away not too long ago You should check out Big Love, and Bleed To Love Her from "The Dance". Lindsay's guitar playing is outstanding. And Silver Spring from that also amazing
Fleetwood Mac has a huge catalog. You should check out some Christy McVie songs where she sings lead on "You Make Loving Fun", "Say You Love Me" and the "Songbird" ballad.
SO THIS WAS CHRISTIEEEE ROBERT! 😊 ( CHRISTINE MCVIE ) R.I.P☹ ANGEL! MORE FROM CHRISTIE : OVER MY HEAD, YOU MAKE LOVING FUN, EVERYWHERE👍, AND HER ICONIC SONG AT THE END OF THE CONCERTS : SONGBIRD 💯
Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks were a music duo before they joined Fleetwood Mac; check out the album "BUCKINGHAM NICKS". After Fleetwood Mac had lost several members, they asked Lindsey Buckingham to join them. He said he would only join if they let Stevie in the band also. The original Fleetwood Mac had some great songs also. Check out "Hypnotized".
She played with them for a couple of years before officially joining the band. I saw her and Peter Green playing together at Filmore west. She was originally a member of Chicken Shack, a British blues band that toured with Fleetwood Mac and opened for them at one time. That's how she met John McVie. Back then her name was Christine Perfect.
The various members of Fleetwood Mac were having affairs with each other and they built that into the music on the album Rumours and this song that was from a LATER album "Tango in the Night". That is Christie McVie on lead female vocals and Stevie Nicks on backup harmony. Christie passed away in 2002 at age 79 after battling off breast cancer and then succumbing to a stroke- RIP
Love watching you youngsters hearing the ish we rocked to daily! We old timers bought the records, went to the concert, and bought the shirts too! We support what we love hardcore. I miss the community, commraderie, the lp liner notes and the art of putting a killer album together. Keep it up!
I discovered Fleetwood Mac in 1986. And it’s been deep love ever since. I was 17 and just really opening up to all kinds of music. Saw them in concert twice. Nothing short of magical!
Ahh Christy's smooth vocals and her piano/keyboarding made their songs what they were. She has some other well-known ones. I think "You Make Loving Fun" is her most famous and then there's "Everywhere" "Don't Stop" which is sung by both her and Lindsey Buckingham and more! Thanks for reacting to her!
When I was growing up in the eighties here in Ireland, this song was always on the radio. Just my absolute favorite from fleetwood mac and a timeless classic.
Did you know there was a time in the History of Fleetwood Mac that Christine McVie,Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham were not a part of the group? The British American band was formed in 1967 London by Peter Green along with John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. It started out more blues rock. More members came and went, Christine joined as the first female vocalist and keyboard player, and around 1975 Buckingham and Nicks joined. The whole history is to complex so you should read up the band
One of my favorites by them! Tango in The Night one of my favorite albums! LINDSEY IS SO DAMN TALENTED SO DAMN SEXY! 🔥 I’ll take Christine on lead vocals over that other one every time too!
I hear this song in 1989 when it came out, and I liked like you, I was 13, recently, I watch a few people react to this song, It changed to loving this song, so either 4 years from or 36 years from now this will be you favorite Fleetwood Mac song, 100 %
One of my favorite songs by Fleetwood Mac that Christine McVie wrote is an underrated (in my opinion) gem called "Hold Me." It's kind of an earworm and has a very catchy hook. As many have said, Christine McVie (keyboards and wife of bass player John McVie from the same band) wrote or co-wrote many of their best songs and was a featured vocalist on some of them. R I P to a very talented musician from a great band.
RIP Christine Thank you BP for reacting to her brilliance. Christine was married to John McVee of Fleetwood Mac. Landslide was Fleetwood Mac song. It was covered by the Chicks, and I personally liked that better. 💙💙🇺🇸🇺🇸💙💙🇺🇸🇺🇸💙💙
B P, Christine Mcvie (pronounced Mcvee) was in a band called Chicken Shack, she was Christine Perfect at that time, they had a hit in 1969 called I would rather go blind, worth a look. 👍🏻
Songbird, You Make Lovin' Fun, Over My Head, Say You Love Me, Over & Over, Honey Hi, Everywhere. Are some of the big songs in Fleetwood Mac featuring Christine McVie and are all great songs! Hope ypu check out more from her!
This one is a banger. Takes me back to late 80's when i listened to all kinds of official compilation cassettes of current years hits and this song was in one of them.
Christine wrote and sang about half of their hits. You should check out “Everywhere” and “songbird” - and also a Lindsey song “I’m so afraid “ the live version.
this is chritine mcvie ~ married to the bass player john mcvie ~ she was with the band long before stevie came but they gelled together beautifully in song ~
In a few years Nicks was with Buckingham, Tom Petty, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and a song writer who wrote Don't Come Around Here No More by Petty. Though the song was written for Nicks and was something the writer overheard he yell at Walsh. Professor of Rock has a video about the song.
YEAH YOU GOTTA DO MORE FROM CHRISTIE FOR SURE! 😊 SO GREAT INSANE DRAMA FILLED😮 PARTY ROCK BAND THAT MADE GREAT MUSIC ROBERT, BASICALLY YOU HAD THE 2 COUPLES ( STEVIE & LINDSEY ) & ALSO ( JOHN MCVIE & CHRISTINE MCVIE )👍 AND YOU HAD THE GLUE THAT HELD THE BAND TOGETHER💯, THE COCAINE BUG EYED ( MICK FLEETWOOD ) THERE YA GO, 40!!!
3 Lead singers harmonizing! Fleetwood Mac is flexing their muscle here. What they are doing may seem easy but bringing it to perfection as they did speaks volumes about their talent. Top 7 Rock& Roll bands of All-Time. The Beatles, The Stones, The Who, AC/DC, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Skynyrd, Queen, The Doors...
I think it's the perfect time for you to react to the live version of Silver Springs. If you want unsuppressed honesty with this band, that's the one to go to. Does not disappoint.
I'll share a little secret with you: when a woman asks you if she looks fat in something, she already knows she's put on some weight and just wants to know if it's noticeable, or if she's managed to camouflage it well enough. And yeah, Stevie and Lindsey were a couple at one time, and a musical duo as well. Before they joined Fleetwood Mac. Check out some of the pre-Buckingham/Nicks Fleetwood Mac, especially during the Bob Welch era; different sound, but some great tunes: "Hypnotized", "Bermuda Triangle", "Sentimental Lady", and the instrumental "Albatross" - good stuff!
yeah stevie had an active love life lol. she's said the love of her life was joe walsh but he could not say the same 🙈 her history with don henley has been famously told, and her insanely complex relationship with lindsey buckingham is legendary lol. this was a lovely song written by christine mcvie (pronounced mc VEE), featuring her on lead vocal but my favourites by her to check out are: over my head you make lovin fun hold me
Stevie was also in a relationship with Mick Fleetwood. Buckingham and Fleetwood both did her dirty. She had great resolve to still get up there and perform with them.
Given the personalities at work in this group, none of the soap opera quality surprises me in the least. The only surprise is how long they lasted in spite of that. Lots of talent.

Before joining Fleetwood Mac Lindsay and Stevie were professional and personal partners releasing an album together in 1973. Stevie has had relationships with Mick Fleetwood, Don Henley, Joe Walsh (not Tom Petty) among others but doesn't appear to have dated in many, many years.
They would close their shows with Christine's Song Bird, a beautiful song. Should check it out. Also, So Afraid & Big Love.... Lindsey Buckingham songs, great guitar. Electric & acoustic. Tusk, Gold Dust Woman, Don't Stop....all can be done live from The Dance in 97. All high quality. Another Stevie song with Petty is I Need to Know...😀
R I P Christine McVie superb voice and such talented musician too.

R.I.P. Christine. Amazing voice and fantastic keyboardist.
