  • Note: I refer to Starlink Roam as Starlink for RV in this video because they recently changed the name from RV to Roam. They are the same thing, just a different name.
    I go camping and review the new Starlink ROAM out in the desert. I also show how I can run my business from anywhere.

    Just a quick tech note. "Mbps" is Mega bits per second which is what your phone is displaying. "MBps" is Mega bytes per second. 8 bits to a byte.
    Still, its very impressive.

    Seriously considering getting this. I work remotely so I'm really wanting to go work...remotely. I got my mom SL for her house and she averages over 200Mbps, so it's pretty much on par with the lower DSL plans. My only concern is power because if I go somewhere remote to work, I don't want to do it for just a day.

    Great video! Three things: 1) what campground is that and when did you go? It seems warm and there is nobody there. I am in Evergreen CO so it looks like a great place to do some work. 2) Do you still like using the Starlink after a season of use or did you find it limiting? 3) I see a comment that you only got 6-8 hours on the battery you use. Did you upgrade? If so, to what and how long did that give you?

    Hiii.. Good video.
    Hoy much time do you think can last the Starlink system alone with that Power station?

    • @ryanbales
      @ryanbales  Рік тому +1

      Depends on how much you use it, but around 6-8 hours for me

    How do you keep your computer cool and away from heat? We want to work remotely but afraid of storing our computers in the car while hiking and getting too hot. Thanks for the info with the star link! So cool.

      Laptop should be fine as long as it's not in the sun

      I camped for 2.5 this summer in the west and SW and had no problem. As long as your laptop isn’t left on the dash in the direct sun, it’ll be fine

    Hey Ryan, just saw your video and wanted to ask:
    - Is pausing service mean for the entire $135 a month or just the "RV" portion. I know the service by itself is like $110 so just want to make sure that I can pause the entire thing and not just the RV portion.
    Thank you much, sir!

    • @ryanbales
      @ryanbales  2 роки тому

      Ya you can pause the entire service. So you don’t of anything when it’s paused.

    We’ve just bought a starlink but cannot remove the dish from the stand for storage. If anyone knows how to do this please can you let me know. Thanks

    • @ryanbales
      @ryanbales  2 роки тому +1

      There is a stow button in the app. The you just press the button on the stand and pull the dish out.

      @@ryanbales thank you 🙏🏻 sadly looks like we have a faulty dish. It does not release. We will have to return to starlink 😞
