It isn't a leap. We have satellite internet. The only reason starlink users are getting great bandwidth and low latency is because nobody else in their area is using it. That's freakin awesome Trent! Love that starlink is that stable for you. I have a question so does the starlink move while your connected to find better satellites? Also its great you still use "Slarxy" as your gaming name
Once the dish positions the first time it doesn't actually move it stays stationary. It works because it's a super high tech "phased array antenna" and it electronically aims the beam at the satellites switching satellites every minute or so as they zoom overhead at 17,500 mph.
From one Trent to another, this video was SICK! I love all your content man. As someone who wants to work remote and travel the country some day, this was so educational and inspiring! Not only that, but super entertaining lol. Cant wait to watch some more of your content brotha!
How long can you game on that power station with just the laptop plugged in? And how much power does the Starlink pull? I'm thinking about traveling in my prius for a bit, but still want to be able to use my gaming laptop at night.
@@chrisrichfield8906 So basically if you have a power station that holds 2000 watts for example since your laptop takes 180 watts per hour you’ll be able to play the laptop for 11 hours without recharging, and possibly slightly longer if you have a solar panel plugged in. (Math: Since the laptop is 19.5V and 9.23 amp you multiply the Volt and amps to get how many watts per hour your device takes. Volt x Amp = Watt Hours. Also if you get a power station, when you plug it in it will show you how many hours it will be able to power that device, so keep In mind how much power you need. Im not too great at explaining things and made this comment pretty long😅 but hope I answered your question!
I moved to Italy a few months ago, and I've hating, LITERALLY HATING, the internet speeds here. You go from 500mb to 4mb in a little city. And I needed to get something reliable. Starlink, HONESTLY, ROCKS.
A roofless gaming setup in the middle of the mountains with a real gaming chair, now THIS guy knows. To imagine that satellite-based internet relays have been a thing for decades but were a symbol of horrendous lag back in the days. I even remember a test at uni that was based on demonstrating that very fact, numbers were scary, we were talking entire SECONDS of lag (which means plain screen freeze when gaming, a bit like borderline hard disconnect, in case you're wondering) sometimes because of the way TCP tries to correct itself in space in case of packet loss or corruption :D ANd moving dishes were also a thing in live tv broadcast trucks, but what's cool with Starlink is that basically anybody could theoretically afford that kind of hardware, which is kinda cool (assuming it doesn't end up like Tesla of course.)
Imagine being lost in the wilderness for weeks and stumbling upon this guy gaming 😂

For 20 years I have had the most shit internet. When I got my starlink and ran download/streaming tests I got the feeling of the moment I got my very first console when I was a kid. Let me tell you, if your on the fence of getting starlink, it is the TRUTH!!!!!!!!!
Bro! that Ping is high, I def know that Starlink will be upgrading that in the future. They have gain a lot of popularity after years of crappy satellite internet companies. Rooting for you! DON'T STOP MAKING VIDEOS!
Legit living vicariously through your channel. Amazing view there. Can't wait to get my kids out on adventures like this when they can talk words beyond gibberish hah.
I've been waiting for you to get starlink for so long, super excited to hear more about experiences. Video Idea: Do you ever run into animals in the wild?
if people are saying you are crazy ... no bro you are not ..another level of gaming with peace
Lmao both the speed test are better then mine at my house..
Damn. Well I was expecting something like starlink to happen at some point but reality is far more exciting. Nice video. Always making my mood when I see you man. Wish I could live in a van too. Keep up the good work. 👍😉
So much for touching the grass lmao.
Sweet bro loved the video, gaming on top of a mountain man absolutely insane. The shot of you inside your van with the wind blowing looked so peaceful. Can't wait to see what this bad boy will do once you get the ether net chord adapter, for me it cut my ping in half!
the development of a civilization that discovered fire
8:17 the editing is just soo good!
That's freakin awesome Trent! Love that starlink is that stable for you. I have a question so does the starlink move while your connected to find better satellites? Also its great you still use "Slarxy" as your gaming name
Yeah! It’s constantly connecting to new satellites all the time!
And lol… I’m just too lazy to change my name.
@@TrentTheTraveler Is there any interruption in service when it swaps uplinks? Or is it able to maintain connection when it does?
Once the dish positions the first time it doesn't actually move it stays stationary. It works because it's a super high tech "phased array antenna" and it electronically aims the beam at the satellites switching satellites every minute or so as they zoom overhead at 17,500 mph.
This is sick man I’m glad the tech is catching up to the lifestyle 😎
Love this! Thanks for sharing! Can you do a test in a place without clear view of the sky sometime? Thanks 😊
Not a bad idea! I'll definitely put that on the list!
@@TrentTheTraveler even leaves will make connection bad -- its reaaly needs a clear sky
Great idea Sierra Jean!
Imagine ut lost in the woods for weeks, and u suddenly hear this man raging at the game out of no where😂✊🏾😊
Everybody has a Gaming Room Rigs... But this guy ...............has a Gaming Room Mountain
Good question
That depends on the laptop. You need to find the electrical specs (The Volts and the Amps it uses) If you want I can explain how to calculate a little
@@shadow392 19.5V 9.23A 180W
Love the scenery behind
I’m glad Trent mellowed out a bit in later videos…. This was a bit full on
Best advertisement for starlink i have seen so far. :))
The life of a digital nomad has changed entirely with StarLink.:)
7:58 ohh, that's not the first thing you want to see when you first boot up lol
BRO I stumbled upon this channel and subscribed IMMIDIETLY❗️THIS DUDES SO UNIQUE BRO WUT
Imagine one second you're gaming in the mountains and the next you are being eating by bears.
"Brb guys, there's a leopard that bite my lunch"
I cant fathom the thought of potential losing a game of overwatch to a gigachad caveman on top of a mountain
this guy is a type of gamer (Rarest form of gamer) who touches grass while gaming on his pc
I moved to Italy a few months ago, and I've hating, LITERALLY HATING, the internet speeds here.
You go from 500mb to 4mb in a little city. And I needed to get something reliable. Starlink, HONESTLY, ROCKS.
Imagine a bear in the wilderness and stumbling upon this guy gaming
And here's me watching this video on my home wifi. Lagging.
