Very good information and well explained Dom. It's amazing how these innovations have come about so quickly but with more vanlife and off grid than ever before, they have strived to capture the market and have done it well.
Absolutely, so much technology to make alternative lifestyles a lil bit easier :)
Good video Dom 👍 I don’t think it’s only off gridders that’ll now be using more of these portable power banks and panels, the rate the energy is going up in the UK, more people will use at home to save a few pennies, we do.
Many solar panels appearing on the roofs of garden sheds around here and I doubt that they are used to charge the lawnmowers.
Agree with both of you, makes so much sense to make/store your own power not just off grid but in all circumstances now with the price of electric every where, in the UK, solar for the summer and a wind turbine for the winter :)
I have owned my Bluetti EB70 about 1.5 years now. (I also own and prefer my Bluetti AC200 Max) I get about 83-85% capacity from the 716 wh EB70. I also own and have ran my Starlink using only my EB70. At night with no solar input I run out of electricity/battery in about 5.5-6hrs in cool but not freezing weather. My Starlink is the largest user of power in my house. And it ran my EB70 empty when completely charged each night. I get almost 24 hrs use of Starlink from my Bluetti AC200 Max for reference. Love this Chanel and just wanted to share my experience.
Thanks for sharing Phil, it's pretty good info 👌🙏👍
Hey Phil, if you wanted to keep your starlink system 24/7 for a hole year, what solar power kit would you suggest? your Bluetti AC200 with 200V solar panels? (No other devices would be connected to the power station, just starlink)
I'm looking to instal something to have permanent internet and never have to touch it.
I would suggest a minimum of 800 watts of input panels daily if using solar for a Bluetti AC200Max. If you were to add another 2000 watt hours of storage to that (expandable) it would help you out. You should be able to run continuously with some exceptions like bad weather. However the sun/solar will let you down at times of bad weather for a few days. Please understand that I am no expert or authority on this matter. @@Rights-project-23
Thank you!@@philpartlow7744
We have 600w of panels and in Nov it's not enough to power starlink other than short bursts here and there
Thank you Dom. All the best. 👍🐾🐾😎
Great video Dom 😀
Thank you so much for the great explanation! 🙏👍Answered all my questions now. Take good care.🥰
Glad it was helpful! :)
Definitely the most clear information we had until now! Thanks a lot!
Glad it was helpful! We're super pleased with ours especially now the monthly cost is so low! 👌
Excellent video!!!!!
That answered a lot of my questions Dom, thank you.
Pleasure :)
Very useful info 👍
Excellent information, very useful. 🙏👌
Cheers patti :)
Great video! The amount of people who have been telling me there's no way I can power a starlink and laptop for 8 hours a day made me almost reconsider a solar generator. I appreciate your review/walk through!
We're running both everyday (sometimes, running 2x laptops) here in Portugal and still staying at 100% on our solar, depends on your weather
Yeah StarLink! Thanks for the video! 🌀💚🌀
You bet! :)
Excellent information Dom. We have just purchased the EB70 and solar panel and will be ordering the Starlink when we get to our land in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the fabulous information. Elaine and Darren.
Excellent, both fabulous bits of kit 💚 enjoy your land, you must be excited?
Enjoyed your explanation . Enjoy your vlogs. Keep it up. Lots of love from Florida.
Thank you so much 😊
Top wafflings Dom! Very informative 😎🌞
Haha do love a bit of a, waffle 😎
That EB70 would have been a good choice for me if it had the option to connect an extra battery.
Agreed, there are other options with additional batteries mind :)
Great, thank you, just ordered one x
We love ours so fast! 💚👌
Very good information. Thanks for one and only clear video on youtube
Pleasure glad it was useful,, we're, still loving it especially since the price dropped on the subscription 💚
Very good explained good job.
Pleasure and thanks :)
Great vlog guy's 👍
Thank you 😁
Great video. Lots of info. Thumbs up from me, sir.
Thanks very much 👍🙏😊
Drinking game: a shot everyone he says Bluetti 😂
You can play the updated version soon just reviewed the newest bluetti 👌😁
Yes I just waiting on it to be avaible in Australia last time I looked it’s was behind it getting units out but I check again
Thanks!
Pleasure 💚😁
and the good thing is that the monthly cost of using Starlink in Portugal is that the price has gone down!
I know, week it arrived dropped by a third!!! happy days :)
Great review dom 👏 regarding the power banks there also good for the house incase of power outs and in my case to cut the cost down a little on my elecy bill. Throw the solar panels out and done yes its an upfront cost but I'm planing on using one in the van to when I finish her
Yep agreed, wise with the price of electricity! 💚
Thanks for the info, been looking into StarLink as an alternative to our cable internet now, and for our travels in the future. We live about 60 miles from one of the locations where Space X is launched and have seen day and night launches, quite a spectacle.
I saw it launch too was indeed a sight to behold and pleasure on the info, really pleased with it :)
Any power station can actually charge the Starlink. The only thing that I don't like about the EB70 is that it charges slower than most power stations.
I've 4 power stations and it chargers quicker than 2 of them especially fast on decent solar
Could you confirm- cost of Bluetti, name and cost of your solar panel’s, and the average time they take to fully charge the Bluetti?
Thanks for the great video!
Hi, there's a link in the description which will take you to full specs and prices
ALways enjoyed your content, think you guys are brilliant with nice nature, nearly at 10k subs, look forward to seeing you there and beyond, persistence overcomes resistance, Ali G in Dan House
Aw thansk carlos, been a struggle to get to nearly 10,000 think not enough drama for some haha
Nice,, I have also gotten the Bluetti EB70 to review,, and I do agree,, it is awesome,, my video will be up friday,,, you beat me to it :-)
Yep great bit of kit! And lol, however I've had ours a month!
@@TheWildlandersOffGrid :-) I did the video in a few days,, got the kit Tuesday and filmed the last little bit Saturday.
I am in Castelo Branco now,, so see you at Lidl :-)
Hi Dom great review of both Starlink and Bluetti. Quick question, do you think the Bluetti is a better Power bank than the Jackery? Keep up the good work. Thanks
Both solid but The bluetti charges quicker 💚
Good review! One question tho, Have you tried using it while charging, like, 24/7? Do you think it is possible and won't damage the bluetti eb70? planning to use it like an UPS for my starlink and laptop.
Thanks Choi, I haven't but the bluetti is designed to be used whilst charging. I'd just turn off your starlink at bedtime and anytime you're out....
If you were building a campervan from scratch to use for almost permanant living, would you go for the set up you have shown us? or whats already on your van?
Weve a small solar setup on the van made up of Victron stuff but with 500w of solar and 350ah of agm batteries. In the shade house were adding a slightly bigger 450ah system, which is still considerably bigger than the Bluetti EB70. You can though get bigger ones. So for ease and portability, the bluetti, for a more permanent van system either a bigger battery or a 'system'
Hi Dom, thanks a lot for making these videos, they are extremely helpful. I'm looking to purchase one, but I have a question.
if you wanted to keep your starlink system 24/7 for a hole year at a fixed location, what solar power kit would you suggest? your Bluetti EB70 with 120V, or you would go for something more powerful? (No other devices would be connected to the power station, just starlink)
I'm looking to instal something to have permanent internet and never have to touch it, would truly appreciate your advice sir!
Hi mate I'd get something more powerful, also depending on your location and sunshine. Here in the summer no probs to run but we still generally turn it off at night and in the winter we can't run it 24 7 on a bigger system to the bluetti as again not enough sun. I'd at least go for a box with 400w inputs for panels and turn off starlink at night on a timer. The rest as in will it power it all day is, down to the weather and location...
Great bits of kit though ❤️🌞☔
Sir hope you see this may i have a question? Is possible to running it whole day none stop or will it damage the bluetti
Hi not sure on the bluetti but I'd imagine it can be charging and also on all day
Which version of starlink are you using here? I'm guessing portable residential not the rv version as the rv version is rated over 100w. If you are using the portable residential information do you have any real world knowledge of the rv version's wattage? Thanks and great video.
Hi both units are the same in terms of kit. It's pretty low usage 70 or 80wats to start up and then hovers around 40w.
@@TheWildlandersOffGrid Interesting. The website is saying for the flat high performance in motion dish, its rated for 110 - 150W. I wonder if this is a misprint or maybe some new upgrade on the motion RV. None the less thanks for your reply and your videos. They are greatly helping me solve big challenges before me and my other half hit the road for permanent nomadic life in a short while. Cheers!
Pleasure, we Che ked ours on a portable solar box, and def o ly around 40w showing after boot up 💚
Thanks for the great video. What is the cost of your vodafone contract? Is it close to the 65 Euro starlink cost?
Hi its more expensive for Vodafone as, 3 of us
have a look into the raspberry pi 4 use very little power! less than two amps, and many use them for video editing and more!..
Good tip! Laptop is on its last legs so definitely will do :)
How long does it run without being plugged?
Really depends, what you run off it
How many hours will it last to power starlink?
Depends if it's also charging off solar but on days, with reasonable sunshine will go all day long
Where’s the starlink modem?
What do you mean?
👏👍🌟🍀💐

You're confusing watts which is power delivery, with watt-hours which is energy.
No we weren't
@@TheWildlandersOffGrid try listening again, watts = power , watt-hour = joules= energy. You keep mixing watts and watt- hours
Heard you the first patronising comment but yes still not confused 😉
Phew 65€ a month for broadband!
Half what were currently paying as with a gaming teenager and being UA-camrs with HUGE file sizes to upload its a bargain. Plus being off grid the signal on 4g is PANTS!
Elon does it again 👍💙❤️
