1996 yzf600RHC basic engine disassembly for 2nd gear replacment. show complete engine through splitng the cases and investigating gear damage. to 2nd and 6th gear wheels. not a replacemen for service manual but will show you what you are in for, in donig the job yourself. replacement, reassembly, and engine install vids to follow.

Great video, you mentioned something about ''it going bang'' when starting, i got that problem with my yamaha yzf600. its hard to start, sometimes it turns over and then it locks up (bang), sometimes it just ticks and dose not even turn over, eventually is starts, but i really would like to fix it. You know what the problem could be.

if you haven't already solved this problem I would bet this is it. I just diagnosed mine and popped the cover off, a couple gears were chewed up bad and actually binding. The banging sound was all of the gears banging their way past the bad tooth. So Im out about $200 in new gears and a new gasket +oil filter but its good as new. Unless those metal chips found their way elsewhere, which I may go digging for now.
