Just a suggestion… when using sealer like this on cam caps and on head gaskets etc, you only need the thinnest layer you can, it needs to be complete (no gaps) to seal but almost see through… in this case it really is less is more. When you clamp the bearing cap or head 95% of the sealer will be displaced and will end up in the oil and water galleries etc just where you don’t want it. 👍
Noted, we thought we applied a decent amount per the advice given from some big power engine builders, but always great to hear feedback on how we can do it better, maybe we were a bit liberal with the seal. We will def keep an eye out in the future ❤️🙏
That’s a nice tip^ the cam caps for example need the thinnest tiny little layer. Juuuust enough to fill any tiny imperfections that the rubber/flexible material can’t go into
If you plan on revving high (which i know you are😂)Look into lifter shims, I bought them for my 3.2l head…basically they are small washers that go in the lifter bore and space the lifter up higher so if/when a lifter collapses at high rpm it wont separate from the rocker. I believe Ferrea makes them.
George, Stav, You guys are making me want to pick up a MK1 or MK2 Audi TT 3.2 , build and twin turbocharg, or single large turbo. I had a TT225 I bought new in 06. Had Turbo upgraded, all bolt on supporting mods, custom tuned. It was putting down 485HP, 465TQ , it was quick for the time, no problem beating Z06 Corvettes and so many other vehicles. You have me wanting to relive that fast go-cart of a car. This time turned up to 800-1,200 HP with the 3.2 V6.
I picked up two ultrasonic cleaners (3L and 30L) a while back and have to say that they re an absolute game changer when it comes to working on my car and it's engine and transmission.
Try MEK, it is better than Acetone, for cleaning. We used to use this for prep for urethane paint, on bare steel, in power plants. Nice work. It is always good to learn to do the job yourself.
MEK is stronger than acetone, but acetone removes more types of contaminents. We used to use MEK at work for cleaning printer ink. shit will clean damn near anything off.
Are you going to run vvt? Been planning my r30 build and seen vvt deletes are available but can’t find much info. Love the vids. Off work with cvid pretty much watched them all now haha 👌
We have vvt wired in and installed currently. We will be running vvt but may switch down the line to see back and forth testing and see if there are benefits on drag cars.
Hi. Found this build a couple of days ago, exciting to see the different solutions. A question, do you have the part numbers on the long and the short 1/2" ARP head studs ?
We have always had hydraulic fully filled not emptied. So on start up we don’t damage and have to bleed out the lifters. Slightly harder but doable. If we have issue we will try your way
Thanks G, rs3vr is good stuff but most of us are single or divorced guys going thru mid life crisis that cant afford a lambo so we build an affordable vrt, best sounding engine hands down, dont matter 12v or 24v, 12v is just cheaper.
That silver block rocks
“Sounds like Stav’s uhh…”😂 I see you, George👀

Loved the video and details. Keep up the awesome work and build ... can't wait to see this thing put down some passes.
Hey you, Get out of my garage!
LOL! I love the smack talking 👍
I gotta say, I think my favorite part of these videos is Stav's relentless 24v slander.
It’s not slander if it’s true lol

When George said we have it torqued to 25 ft lb , and Stav said that's good enough for this engine, I laughed out loud.
No suggestions here just enjoying the build. Nice to have you both back, STAV seems a little lost without George, lol. Keep up the awesome work.
A team always works best together, thank you for the kind words 💪💪
Love these videos. Can't wait for the next video
Stoked to see this stuff! Keep it up, Malakas!

Put a 12v in it
12 valves never loose

Can’t wait for that finish Malaka guys 🙌🏻
Can't wait until you start drag racing your cars again!

Agreed 1000000%
Keep up the good work and all the detail 👍
Thank you very much sir

Will definitely look into MEK, appreciate the recommendation 💪💪💪
@@MalakaMotorSports Nasty stuff. Wear gloves and masks.
MEK is Good stuff but don’t breathe it in or get it on you it’s savage

Love seeing that R30 come together!
Thank you !!! Learning with every step forward on this journey 🙏
im learningggg for the rx7
Did George call the head bolts telephone poles? 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Yuuuuuuuge 😂
George, where is your Rolex flex showing your steering wheel? 🤣🤣. Bro tat was funny.
😂
Love it! Just did this today with my 1.8T! Have you tried copper spraying the Head Gasket?

We got the stud kit from speed density Motorsports. They make this kit I believe it’s around $525
@@MalakaMotorSports Thank you for the tip, will be in touch with them !
What duration cams did you go with?
This thing is gonna be re-donk-ulious.....
Stock cams?
Engine looking sweet - I like how it looks minty fresh in sliver, is the block stock or is it billet ?
Greetings from the UK 👌🏼
Right now it’s painted silver. After we explore what a cast vr6 block can do we will look into billet.
You can't aneal the copper head gasket before assembly?
Comes already annealed 🤘
Vr6 👍
Stav what is going on with your 12 valve? I have my 12 valve 3.2 in the car.Gary G.
12v 3.2 sounds awesome
Currently waiting on some parts once the vrs3 is sorted we will worry about my B5 and get back into revamping my baby. Lol
where to buy head bolt strut
So this is a 2.8 24 valve vr bored out to 3.0 correct?
3.2 destroked to 3.0 💪
You have to empty out the lifer before you install it for the cames to sit comfortably

May I request your old motor for my Q5🙏
No touchy!!! Lol 😂.
Need more stav and less george.
Stav is a beast
I’ve been telling george but he simply does not believe me lol

We wanna see the Stavs 12 valve build and his videos are more interesting to watch…
Hahaha thank you for the support we got some stuff coming for stavs car.
