yup
SAMEEEE i was waiting for an otto + jerma update😞
''Otto is my little buddy, Otto is my little shadow''
That hits hard man, having owned dogs myself the pain Jerma feels is extremely relatable, wishing the best for him and Otto, our little buddy who has been there since the very beginning.
I love how every time Jerma says "Otto" his tone changes completely. I hope he recovers soon, he really loves him.
Noone lives forever
Unfortunately Otto is about, what 14 now? Dogs tend to only live 10-15 years, especially smaller dogs. Jerma doesn't seem to be doing too good the past few months, I hate to get parasocial but I can't imagine how awful he'll feel once the time comes.
@FreddyKruegerTheDreamDemon i always thought smaller dogs generally lived longer than big dogs?
@@jordynensor2081 Your right. Small dogs like Otto on average have a lifespan of 12-16 years. They can live longer than that, but it isn't common. Large dogs like a german shepherd live to be around 8-12.
@@FreddyKruegerTheDreamDemon i hate how people turned parasocial into feeling any sort of sympathy for a human being on the internet. even if jerma is just a silly eceleb we can care about him, especially when he's being as genuine as this
i commented on one of his sorcery streams YEARS ago that my scottish terrier had just passed due to Addison's disease, and Jerma had taken a moment out of the stream to tell me that he was sorry and that he feels for me. Well, brother, I am still by your side to this day and never forget little moments in life that are made so precious thanks to you. Love ya, Jeremy

man watching your pets get old and start to struggle is unbelievably difficult. i hope otto continues to be as comfortable and happy as possible and i have no doubt jerma will make that happen for him
Having an old dog is even better than having a puppy imo. It feels like you really have a deep bond with them at that point. Hope Otto is comfortable and happy!
There's a feeling of contentness with a happy old dog. Knowing they lived a good life is bittersweet. That's really the best you can do to man's best friend
And even then, you doubt if you did enough. Could you have held them more? Had more walks with them? Played more? They deserve the world and they're happy with you when you just give them a piece of your meal. They love you unconditionally, on your good and bad days.
@@venurian it will never be enough. dogs deserve the entire world but we have to be content with what we are able to give them. of course no one can stop thinking of things like this but being there with your puppy until the end is what matters the most. after all they just want to spend time with you and do not care if the walks and playtimes were not enough.
I hope Jerma spends plenty of quality time with Otto ❤
Otto 😢 the sweetest boy hope he is doing better!
I read his update from a few days ago and immediately said "oh, its idiosyncratic lymphoplasmatic rhinitis". Had the exact same situation with our rough collie: months of scary tests and biopsies, constant rhinoscopies, medications, etc. only to find out its a chronic condition that is difficult to treat and constantly changing. It is unfortunately very characteristic of dachshunds and collies. Our little girl was diagnosed at age 4 and is doing great two years later. Hopefully Otto finds the right medication management that works for him long term! Keeping him in a steamy bathroom while you shower might help him a lot!
AHHH I HOPE OTTO IS OK
he literally says Otto is okay 1 second into the video
sorry.. the video was loading as I typed this
My dachshund buddy, Opie, died from a heart condition at 12. He was very active all the way up until his heart gave out. He began having seizures and coughing, and it just got kinda worse over time, but medicine helped. One day, he started coughing up blood, and I had to put him down. And I say all that to say this: If Otto passes, please don't delay in giving another dog a home (rescue, rehome, whatever), because I had a piece of my life gone for 2 years before I decided to get another puppy, and I feel fucking stupid for waiting. Almost instantly, I was happy (certainly happier than before I got him) with my new little twerp dachshund Frito. I still miss Opie, and he was a perfect little boy, but so is Frito. I hope Otto still has plenty of time left on this Earth.
My condolences to you on the loss of Opie. He sounded like a wonderful dog, and I'm glad that you and Frito both have each other. Thank you for sharing this bittersweet memory
@@PepperoniVT Opie was just an endlessly lovable and cute guy full of energy and he made the cutest noises (he had small dog syndrome real bad, but that just made my heart melt). Frito and I (and his new brother, a miniature pinscher) are doing great now. Thank you for the kind words!
otto is older than most fortnite players. but seriously i hope for the best for otto, its kinda heartbreaking to know he had a seizure :(
my dachshund passed a few months ago, she was 14. she had chronic bronchitis, but in the end her kidneys failed :( i miss her dearly.
@user-zk9zr7cl1d mine had liver failure at around the same age. It's a shame the breed has so many health problems
Ah yes "idiopathic" aka "Fuck knows what's causing it, I can't figure it out."
No
@@erwins_arm Idiopathic literally means "arises spontaneously with an unknown cause". So yes, he's right.

You're the alternate
turns out we cannot know everything. Frustrating thing, really.
Jermmmm, my 15 year old dog just finished chemo. if his old, fat ass can get better, so can Otto. sending healing vibes!!! you're the best dad for doing all the diagnostics, even if the diagnosis is basically "welp." when dogs get old, their bodies start doing all sorts of weird stuff. quality of life is key and it sounds like Otto still has it. lotsa love.
Man I’ve never heard Jerma like this, you can tell it’s been affecting him
For anyone worried about what that is, it's basically just inflammation inside the nostrils that doctors can't find the source of. Otto will likely be ok, just a very uncomfy nose.
thank youu
Poor Otto. I've got sinus and nose issues too and they're no fun
Awww.. the little lil Otto... Getting so old.....
I had a little old lady dog that was 13 and experiencing a lot of lumps, bumps and irregularities, and she suddenly passed last month. I still miss her to pieces and I'm glad Otto is still kicking :,)
I'm sorry about your little friend. I'm sure she was happy with you
I'm so sorry about ur little buddy mine passed a year ago and it still feels like I lost her yesterday
Holy shit this notification scared me. My dog Steve is like a carbon copy of Otto, down to the carrot loving and everything. Love seeing the little guy.
This same thing happened with my 15 year old dog this past year before she unfortunately passed away at the end of June. It's so hard watching the animal you love most deteriorate so quickly. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her and wish I could give her just one more kiss. Cherish every single moment you have together as tomorrow isn't promised. Big kisses for Otto and hoping he bounces back
What has been happening to Jeremy? He said something at the end and changed the subject.
I believe he's referring to his back problems
@@FreddyKruegerTheDreamDemon which is probably what he meant by ''one thing after another''
He's been suffering from chronic back pain and some variety of GI issues for a while now. I hope he can get it figured out, I've been in the position of bouncing from doctor to doctor trying to figure health shit out and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
We all love our furry friends, it sucks when they aren’t well..hope Otto can recover soon!
Those Otto Adventures videos felt like yesterday but in reality it was a decade ago.
He's an old boy now. Sad to be sure, but we'll all get there eventually
my cat sort of recently died, had her for my entire life, so I understand the feeling of watching your pets grow old. Not playing like they used to, etc. Otto is still a good boy tho ❤
also Otto is 14 now?
Itsh Ot-to
Man, i have a dachshund too, and hes turning 12 soon. He really hasnt had any problems until recently where hes really starting to go blind. I hope otto is doing alright and lives out the rest of his years as happy as he can be
The fact that i'm pretty sure you can hear Jerma's voice crack as he talks, i wish for otto to recover quickly.
I’m glad this started with the good news
DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT
Stay strong little old man otto
it’s always so heartwarming to see jerma open up and say something kind or meaningful or whatever.
ottos such a sweet dog im happy he's okay
Exactly 2 weeks ago I had to say goodbye to my best friend, a 17 year old Cat, his name was Wojtek (Voytek). I know how hard it is, but whatever happens, just stay positive and be gratefull for he has lived a long, happy life and was loved to the brim! Wojtek is safe now and just like Otto, he will never feel pain again...
yeah i am doing fine thank you
I am very glad Otto is happy, I wish all the best to him
Stop scaring me, man
Poor boyyy 😭😭 I hope Otto is alright ❤
Stay strong Otto!! ❤
Dang. My cat passed away at 16 and he also started sneezing a lot a couple months before we had to put him down. He eventually started sneezing blood and struggled to breathe to the point where he started wheezing. And you could hear how painful those breaths were for him. I really hope Otto doesn't have the same thing our cat had and I wish him the best
Wishing Otto good health and a long, happy life.
Just had put down my cat 3 days ago cause he got liver failure, and he was only 12 years old. Hope Otto stays healthy for plenty more years, cause losing a pet is a pretty big bummer.
Worst part about something like this is the insanely predatory vet bills that will make the average person go broke just trying to save their baby.
The way he calls him his little buddy almost made me cry. I hope the rest of Otto's days are comfortable and I know he'll be happy because he's got his Mr Jerma :]
I went back and watched the first video Otto appeared in back in 2012 (its linked on his wiki page). Poor buddy. Precious old man.
Man's best friend is exactly what it says and much more. I have a sister who took in a black pit bull as a stray and even she is feeling the effects of age. Time flies by fast but we seem to never have enough of it. God bless Jerma and Otto 🥲🐶❤️
in 50 years im gonna hear the jerma waiting music randomly and burst out in tears as memories of streams past flood me.
Watching your dog age and have random health issues and pain really sucks. Same is happening to my family right now hope Otto recovers
I think it would have been funny if the video cut right as Jerma was saying that he too was feeling rough, because clearly we only care about otto
Idiopathic means the disease is of unknown origin. Rhin- is the root for nose and -itis is the root for inflammation. Lymph- is anything involving the lymph nodes or lymphatic system, i.e. immune system, and plasma refers to blood plasma. So basically it's inflammation of the nasal cavity mediated somehow by the lymphatic system, though it's not really well understood. Interestingly enough, it can also lead to upper GI abnormalities.
this isnt even my dog, why am i tearing up??? :((
Because he’s a good boy :(

I don't watch Jerma but I still needed to click on this video to make sure Otto is okay
BE SAFE JERMA AND OTTO i hope they are both ok ❤❤❤❤
shoutout to the viewer andy who replied to jerma saying otto is 14 with "he's older than you"
Praying for the little man to have a steady recovery
I love that we as a community care more about Otto's health more than Jerma's
14 years i know how its like raising a son like that
otto... poor baby, i hope he does better!!
Sending love to Otto❤
My childhood cat is getting old and sick, I'm not sure he'll survive this winter. Honestly I'm terrified of losing him, but I know it's going to happen soon or later. Earlier today I was almost crying thinking about it. I'll cherish him until the end. So I feel for Jerma here.
I can already tell i’m gonna be shook up when he comes online one day and gives us the bad news.
I remember bring so distraught when cancer took my last dog i had to take a day off work. Hope Jerma gets to spend a long time having fun with his little buddy
I'm not crying it's just raining inside my house. Watching your little buddies get old is such a unique and awful pain I hope Otto is still feeling like himself❤️
Thankyou for the update. I wish Otto and Jerma many healthy years to come.
Thankyou for the update. I wish Otto & Jerma many healthy years to come.
Honestly makes me think of my cat, who is 19... she constantly has a blocked nose, but she is doing okay... I hope... we have been treating her the best we can, and she is still quite energetic and playful, but still. I hope Otto recovers ❤
Unfortunately this is barely a diagnosis. "Idiopathic" = unknown disease/cause. This basically means they do not know what is wrong with the dog, but will try random things to relieve symptoms until something works. Here's the Irish Veterinary Journal's quick summary of the condition:
Idiopathic lymphoplasmacytic rhinitis (LPR) is a common inflammatory disorder of the nasal cavity in dogs due to unknown etiology. It is characterised by non-specific clinical signs, including nasal discharge, epistaxis and breathing problems. Diagnosis is usually based on the histopathologic identification of infiltrating plasmocytes and lymphocytes in the nasal mucosa and the exclusion of other underlying diseases.
oh man. my late shih tzu Lucy also started having occasional seizures that were usually caused by stress and it did make things more complicated when it came to her healthcare and grooming up until she passed (from kidney issues not the seizures). I hope Otto’s rhinitis treatment goes smoothly and that possible seizures don’t complicate things too much! We love that little guy
My kitty lived to 17. In his last few weeks he was having these awful seizures and a lot of confusion and crying out all the time. It was terrible seeing my baby suffering like that. When you recognise that their remaining time with you is counting down it's always sad.
I feel so much for Jerma :( I hope Otto remains comfortable and happy, I know how hard it is to see your pet miserable. I lost my young/middle age cat (8-9 years old) this summer and he degraded over the course of 1-2 months. He was also my little guy and my shadow. I miss him a lot. Hoping that Jerma keeps seeing a happy Otto until the end, because watching my cat become something he wasn’t was one of the most gutting things I’ve experienced.
Its such a cruel fact of life that pets, the sweetest things with only unconditional love in their hearts, only live a percentage of our lifespans and every owner will have to say goodbye eventually. I'm so happy otto is doing okay for his age and i wish jerma the best when its time, hopefully as far in the future as it can possibly be
UGHHJEJFDJ i can’t even stand to think about otto being sick + jerma having to see him like that😞 must’ve been a hard time but i hope these two make it out of their confusing sickness well together
I remember when Jerma showed off puppy Otto, nearly 12 years ago in one of his videos. Can't believe how fast time flies. Jerma obviously really really loves Otto and I hope he stays comfortable and happy with his favorite human.
I had a dachshund like Otto awhile back. Unfortunately, they have health problems stack up quickly where they get older. Jerma seems like a great dog dad and I'm sure Otto will be fine, no matter what happens.
My cat was just diagnosed with nasal cancer about 2 weeks ago, luckily the diagnosis got ran back and he was Re-diagnosed with a really bad bacterial infection. Has to take pills for a good 6-9 months and hoping it works. But those couple days where we thought he had just 3 months to live was absolutely devastating, ive never had an animal die and im so sorry for anyone who has. I can only understand a sliver of the devastation that must cause. Love to jerma, love to all 💗💗
I hope Otto is ok in the future he’s a very cute dog and I’m glad Jerma is his owner because it really seems like he takes care of him
I have a 14 year old mini schnauzer, who is also really slowing down and showing his age. I've been following Jerma for nearly 12 years now, and it's been special seeing how both of us cope with our dogs getting old since they're the same age. Unfortunately I've had to move away since then and he lives with my parents, and I miss him desperately. So much love to Jerma and Otto.
I just found out my elderly dog has terminal cancer. Its so hard to just accept something like that. Knowing that theyre old and reaching the end is one thing, but having a hard time limit is something else.
My condolences for jerma and anyone else losing their best friend.
My dog just passed away yesterday. Praying for Otto and glad his life has been full of love
I have an old dog who has been having health issues. I know the pain of seeing your little buddy suffer old age ailments. I hope Jerma and Otto are doing alright!
My dog passed away earlier this year and watching Jerma clips/comps helped me out of it a bit. Wishing Otto all the best this kind of stuff really sucks to go through
this year has been so absolutely bad, really just one thing after another for everyone. i wish the best for everyone going through a hard time, and i could not imagine what jeremy must be going through. i lost my childhood dog a few years ago and was absolutely devastated, and we didnt even know anything was wrong until the night before he passed. im thankful that otto is at least showing signs so thay jeremy can do his best to treat it, as for my dog it was just much too late when he started showing symptoms. i hope everyone here feels better and everything gets better, shit really sucks here lately
Between Mabel (Dawko's dog) and Otto, it's a rough time for my favorite pet owners of UA-cam.
one of the cruelest jokes the universe plays on us is the ungodly short time our little buddies are allowed on this earth.
Man, I really hope Jerma is doing better personally when Otto inevitably passes away in a few years as much as it pains me to say. He really loves him, and it would undoubtedly really hurt him a lot so I hope he can be in an environment otherwise in life where he can sort of cushion the blow if that makes sense
idiopathic means they dont know whats causing it. always a terrible downward spiral with pets getting old. sucks every time
I lost my dog after knowing him for 10 years to stage 4 liver disease, I hope everything goes well for Otto and Jerma both
My doggie (a chihuahua mutt) is also 14 and she has chronic illness ... all you can do is hope they live another day in happiness. Its truly all you can do.
Just lost my 15 year old dog in June and I'd be lying if I said there won't be a hole in my heart for the rest of my life where she used to be. But it's better to have loved and lost and all that. If only Otto and all good dogs could live forever.
i was just thinking last night that i hope jerma knows his fans truly love and care for him. i know all the clips i see are of chat teasing and joking with him and i know thats just how he and chat engages and its funny and good but i hoped he knew that under all the jokes and teases we love having him. im glad to see this and see chat showing care and concern 💜
i wish the best for otto, i hope they can figure out a cure for him. anyway, at least he's happy
I hope Otto turns out okay. I'm a little worried about him.
I can't imadgine loosing my pet. I'll probly be off to a mental hospital or dead.
Precious Old Man. His Legend will live forever! Long Live Otto!
I was beginning to wonder about Otto's age/health. hopefully he'll get well soon
God. My dog of 8 years died last month, just 3 weeks after my granddad passed too. It's been really hard on all of us, especially my dad. She was his shadow, his little buddy. She was like no other dog. I feel for you, Jerma. I hope Otto will be okay and live comfortably and happy with you for years to come, or at least for as long as he lasts. I know he will be happy and safe with you, until the end. I wish you both good health and happiness, and want to let you and everyone else know that you are not alone. This extends to everyone who has or had a sick furbaby. Good luck, everyone 🙏🤞💜
