Great editing and the shots are amazing. Your videos are full of usefull information and are great for the rest of us to use for route planning. Love your website as well. 😎👍
I live right off the parkway, about 10 miles from 20 minute cliff. The parkway does get repetitive, good way to break up the pace/scenery is to use the forestry roads that parallel the parkway, not many people know about those. Surprised you didn’t mention the MIND NUMBING slow speed on skyline 😂 kudos for braving the cold weather
@@ridetofood Very true. I considered being the first electric motorcycle to do the same route you did here - but thought about how boring it would be 🤣🤣🤣. If I didn't live so close to it, I would probably be more tempted to do so "oh look, another curve. Oh look, another mountain" the parkway is good in short bursts only
Wow, you do an amazing job! Just subbed. I have ridden the BRP twice, and to Mt. Mitchell recently. Such a beautiful ride, the corners and scenery are second to none. It has to be a top 3 motorcycle road in the Eastern US. So much good riding around there. Ever camped at Robbinsville, N.C.? I love how you roll, be safe out there living life to the fullest. When you getting an ADV bike? I have a WR250R, I love it! Your amazing! 🏁🏍🏁
@@ridetofood but it comes with stickers. stickers! 😋😂 Heck of an accomplishment either way to ride the entirety. It felt a bigger thing to me than a 1000 in 24. Such a gem of a trip though.
Wow Staci, you do an incredible job. Great narrating, showing and informing your viewer. Such a joy to watch and get value and information along with the views.
So wild watching this. I did this exact same trip (from north to south) two years ago. It was the first long distance trip I did on my Low Rider ST. This was one of the best trips I've ever done and this video made me feel like I got to relive it, seeing all the same spots that my group went to. Glad you're having a great time!
My wife and I did this trip North to south. Front Royal to Cherokee. I'd really love to do a South to north trip. We chose to stay at all local hotels or airbnb's along the way. Best vacation ever. Even met a fellow car enthusiast at a small diner one morning over breakfast.
I absolutely love your videos. The historical info, riding and talking are the perfect mix. I can’t wait to visit there some day. You be safe out there! 🤘🏻
Hey there, I just came across your channel today. I long time backpacker, motorcyclist, outdoor whatever lol. Love your channel. I have done this several times. I moved to NY for about 13 years and just moved back to East TN and retired. Your videos are making me wanting to get out there more and more. Thanks for sharing.
Simply AMAZING.... what else can be said that hasnt already been said. That area is amazing and every rider should try to experience the BRP and or Skyline Drive. Your work just keeps getting better and better. Your attention to detail is second to none.... 👍😎👍😎
Love this content from start to finish. So helpful and inspiring! I have been following you for a couple years now, and I am thankful to have found you on here!❤ Happy New Year. Let your light shine bright!🎉2024🎉
This was thee best content and narration of the ride, I’ve ever seen. Outstanding, took a lot of notes! 😂 Love when you actually get out and over the miles, tell of the stops you made, where to stop, the gear you’re using. Great resource for our travels, and man really appreciate you and this epic content. Love to learn more about the “Bear cabinet” or whatever you called it!
Glad you enjoyed it!! 😊 The bear box!! Or bear locker. You can google it as there’s lots of good info out there on them that would take me eons to type out lol! They’re very common in established campgrounds where bears are active 🐻
Got it! Thank you! Keep putting the big ride, lodging/camping content out. Gives our community such a great resource for the upcoming season.@@ridetofood
Loved your video! My wife and I live not too far north of Cherokee and we ride a Gold Wing. We hope to ride the entire BRP before the year is over, but we'll see. There are no lack of fantastic roads around here, so if it's not the BRP, it'll be another fantastic ride elsewhere! In fact, we did a nice five hour leisurely ride today up into Virginia. Lots of great twisties and fantastic views along the way! I look forward to watching more of your adventures, and thanks for sharing your rides!! Ride safe, ride well, and ride often!
Fantastic video! I've done that trip in and on several different types of vehicles. It never fails to ground me and bring me peace and humility. It's a feeling that stays with you after the trip for a very long time. I absolutely without question recommend this trip if you need to destress and get away from the rat race for a while. Speaking of... I'll be doing it again myself soon! Thank you for this great video!
Fantastic ride and documentary. Thanks for sharing. Me and the boys got to ride our bikes the first 70 miles up the Southern Terminus last fall. I've been itching to go back and ride the whole thing. One day...
Wow, I love your videos and trips, how lucky I am to be able to visit such beautiful places, and even more beautiful with you there🥰, greetings from Costa Rica.
It's been a few years since a moto camping trip but after watching this video I'm sold. I'm going to start mapping this one out for a spring trip in 2025.

A perfectly timed and executed video! I’m currently planning this exact trip north for this spring with a return down the Outer Banks. Thank you Staci!
I recently vacay to NC from NYC. I drove down I-81. I even stopped in Staunton for 3 days. I cant believe I missed this Parkway. I should have taken this parkway instead of the interstate. I cannot find this on a map. By the way, Staunton has an amazing amount of great restaurants for a town its size.
Another stellar video.. the videography is on point (as always). Would love to see a break down of your gear sometime. Either way, you're making this region go higher and higher on my bucket list. For a first timer, how much time should one budget to see the "essentials"? (aka not stop at every lookout lol)
I discussed gear at the beginning of this video for two minutes lol! I’d say 3 days is a solid trip. Two is doable in the summer but in the fall it’s pushing it. I cut out a ton of stuff because the days are just so short in the fall. Just depends what all you want to stop and see. Overlooks are only one thing out of dozens you can see/do!
@@ridetofood oh I meant photography gear! The drone shots are fantastic, as is all the b roll. And thanks for the time recommendations. I would assume a week if you wanted to do this and tail of the dragon and associated rides
Another Great video! I've done the parkway the whole way 3 times now. Along with sections of it. Like you mentioned, there's always something new to see & do. One of my favorite roads to ride. Hoping to take the adventure bike down sometime & ride some of the side roads.
Damn great videos sure wish I could ride with you if you're ever in the midwest Illinois Chicago area we have plenty of open and nearby riding roads that are beautiful in the spring and summer
My folks have a house in Front Royal, near the start of Skyline drive - when I lived close I would try to ride up there as much as possible. Beautiful scenery a fun twisty roads. I'm in Ohio now and picking up a dr650 tomorrow, can't wait to venture back out that way to hit up Skyline and BlueRidge Pkwy. Great video!
Always look forward to seeing your videos, Staci. You never disappoint. This is one of your best along with the previous Smoky Mountain video. I can’t wait to see where you go in 2024. You’re amazing!!!!

Awesome video of the BRP! You captured the calm of that ride I love! Peaks of otter camping and restaurant are really nice and big meadows blackberry ice cream pie, dam… I think I’m going to plan an October trip now that I’m seen this, thanks for that.
I really appreciate this early Christmas present. I feel a little guilty because I didn't get you anything. I can offer a simple prayer for your health, happiness, and safety. You're the best. Looking forward to whatever you do next. Happy holiday. Bill
You certainly aren't slumming when it comes to the food! Even the scram and eggs look good. Should be an awesome ride. I'd like to do the Cherohala Skyway drive. Supposedly not as crowded or twisty as the Dragon.
Yes I was with you the whole time loved it. I have to handed it to you you young lady are incredible. facing those cold temperatures like you do. and let's not forget brave camping like you do. I'm a man and I'm not sure that I would be able to camp. Like you do love falling you go long horns.
GREAT VIDEO! I am planning my own trip to the Blue Ridge PKWY and surrounding areas. It is on my bucket list for next summer or fall. You have just answered many of my questions. Thanks. I'm a little too old to camp but I am looking for some B&BS along the way. Merry Christmas and have a great new year.
Hi, just found you on utube by chance, you are fantastic! Thks for taking me along on your beautiful videos. Had my first Harley Superglide in '78. At my age I don't need something too powerful, so I just bought a 24 Honda Shadow ABS 750. Your travels inspired me to ride again after 45 years. I live in El Paso Texas right next to NM which it's also beautiful and I'm planning my first short ride to Santa Fe. Just joined your newsletter and enjoying your travels. Thks. again, and stay safe.
Waoooo!! I’m speechless right now..I’m excited that did you made this trip because I felt I just for off my bike when the video ended. Thanks for sharing. Adding it to my bucket list asap 🏃♀️. I will completed this ride this year on the same bike. Yay!
How far were you from Buena Vista VA? I need to exit there this summer to meet my sons for a Family Civil War Homage. How do you keep your meats safely cool in the summer? I’m a 72 y/o newbie riding my ‘18 Wing with sidecar for my Australian Shepherd. April through August planned.
no idea where BVVA is! google maps could probably answer that better than me. stopped in to a grocery store an hour before eating at camp - to each their own but I wasn't worried about meat going bad within an hour in that scenario.
Such a great ride. I am staying close the blueridge/skyline interchange in a toy hauler. Those artic blasts played hell on my camper's plumbing. It's finally warmed up a little and I was able thaw my camper. I have a 2010 Electraglide Ultra Limited. If you need any work done on your bike while in this area, I highly recommend Cyclelogical in Mt Crawford. My bike is there getting a big bore kit.
First of all, I truly love your videos! You're riding in my back yard. Definitely ride up to Mt. Mitchell on your next trip. I live in Franklin and ride the BRP often. Which SeatoSummit mattress do you have? TIA!
Great video, hoping you had the chance to do Grandfather Mtn and enjoy Forrest Gump Curve.....the Mile High Swinging Bridge is awesome as well with views beyond compare. I gotta go back soon :)
Stumbled on this while watching dandanthe fireman's videos. Wow! I live in Roanoke VA and travel the parkway a lot and the skyline drive twice. North and South, Spend a week in Maggie Valley every August and will see if we can catch little Switzerland while there. About 100 of us gather there and split up. I am one of the leads and we will plan our routes soon. Thanks to your video I will add this ride. Its only 11/2 hour ride there. The TOTD is old and over rated done it a bunch of times. Great Videos Thank you for this i will be tuning in a lot more....
As always, fantastic artful beautiful informative fun amazing thoughtful content. Thank you! And I just received my more miles t-shirt, so thanks again. Merry Christmas indeed!
Did you visit Luray Cavern on Skyline Drive? I think the Skyline drive portion is more scenic but I haven't done the whole blueridge (in car though). I plan on doing these in motorcycles this coming summer. The whole ride is beautiful in fall- wear a transition glasses with uv light blocker and the colors just pop, too much colors that its overwhelming at times. Also at big meadows marker 51, is the gas station running or under construction still?
Another great piece of work Staci and a perfect compliment to the last video. You’ll never run out of things to do and see no matter how many times you go there. I only had one time when it wasn’t awesome cause we rode in mile after mile of fog on the BRP. Once again , thanks for excellent entertainment and stay safe.
Great video as always.... the noisy night of sleep is rough.... I usually pack earplugs, but then am paranoid about a wild critter eating me while I sleep soundly!
I follow you on You Tube a lot. I am curious if you ride with a traveling companion for safety or not? I was also interested in your helmet set up. You did a great job hy-lighting your motorcycles. Loved it! Great videos. No wonder you are a photographer by trade.😉
Great video Staci, i just don't know ya do it in the cold like that! lol!!! The views were gorgeous though! That's definitely on my to do list....sláinte!

I tend to plan everything at least 6-8 weeks in advance if I can help it. I cant remember exact timeframes since this was nearly a year ago
Waoooo!! I’m speechless right now..I’m excited that did you made this trip because I felt I just for off my bike when the video ended. Thanks for sharing. Adding it to my bucket list asap 🏃♀️. I will completed this ride this year on the same bike. Yay!
Awesome!!
My bike is there getting a big bore kit.
hopefully the you'll be ridin in good weather soon! thanks for watching!!
First of all, I truly love your videos! You're riding in my back yard. Definitely ride up to Mt. Mitchell on your next trip. I live in Franklin and ride the BRP often.
Which SeatoSummit mattress do you have? TIA!
thank you! everything is linked in the video description :)
Great video, hoping you had the chance to do Grandfather Mtn and enjoy Forrest Gump Curve.....the Mile High Swinging Bridge is awesome as well with views beyond compare. I gotta go back soon :)
Unfortunately didn’t have time but it was on the list!
Awesome!!! Glad you enjoyed it! :)
As always, fantastic artful beautiful informative fun amazing thoughtful content. Thank you! And I just received my more miles t-shirt, so thanks again. Merry Christmas indeed!
Yay!! Thank YOU! 😊🤘
Wow when i get over there im going to do this thank you Staci keep doing these so i can get an idea where to ride when i come over there
Did you visit Luray Cavern on Skyline Drive? I think the Skyline drive portion is more scenic but I haven't done the whole blueridge (in car though). I plan on doing these in motorcycles this coming summer. The whole ride is beautiful in fall- wear a transition glasses with uv light blocker and the colors just pop, too much colors that its overwhelming at times.
Also at big meadows marker 51, is the gas station running or under construction still?
I think the gas station was open! I didn’t utilize it honestly.
Thanks Wayne!
Absolutely best motorcycle travel content ever, true biker living the lifestyle..thank you for taking us along 👍
Thank you!!!
Hey that was fun, enjoyed the video, have done much of that parkway before, very well done✌️
Thank ya!!
Great video. Doing it in June and heading to Wyoming from Clover SC last week of Aug 2024. Like your cooking gear!
Sweet!!!! Gonna be a rad trip!
Your awesome Staci! I've benn on the parkway , bits and pieces but never the whole thing. Thanks for showing me what I've been missing. Be Safe!
Glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for watching 🤘
nice campong stuffs...and nice video. ~
Tell me about that sleep pad inflates… I’ve never seen that before. Possibly an over view of your camping gear. Thx..
It’s an air pad! You can read more about it here: bit.ly/3SQskXD
I made a short a few weeks ago about my camping gear setup I used on this trip. 👍
Great video as always.... the noisy night of sleep is rough.... I usually pack earplugs, but then am paranoid about a wild critter eating me while I sleep soundly!
Haha I understand! I always pack them but rarely use them.
I follow you on You Tube a lot. I am curious if you ride with a traveling companion for safety or not? I was also interested in your helmet set up. You did a great job hy-lighting your motorcycles. Loved it! Great videos. No wonder you are a photographer by trade.😉
traveled solo for over a decade - dont need a companion for safety! I'm wearing a Bell Race Star with a Lexin G16 Comm Unit. My go-to!
Great video Staci, i just don't know ya do it in the cold like that! lol!!! The views were gorgeous though! That's definitely on my to do list....sláinte!
heated gear is a game changer lol thank you!!
Maybe the favorite ride out east. Every state west of texas has a better ride.
Excellent video! Thanks!
LIttle switzerland has several options. My wife and I love to go to the Big Lynn Lodge and get a small cabin overlooking the southern vista. Breakfast and supper are included in the price.
🤘
P.S. I Christened the sidecar the “Bucket Listin’ “ More truth to it at my age than yours!” I’d send a pic if I could but can’t see where. 😮
ill take your word for it!
