This DARK Untold Jurassic World Death Is Really SCARY

  • The Dino Tracker website for Jurassic World Dominion has some dark and scary lore about the Dimetrodons in the Amber Mines from the film. Dr. Grant, Sattler and Maisie are attacked by the creatures but the movie says the dinosaur brain chips should have stopped all of this. Halloween is closer and scarier dinosaur ideas are welcome so this canon material is something I wish we would have more of in the movies themselves.

In the movie, Dodgson shows little hesitation in trying to kill the protagonists multiple times, straight up unleashing a Quetzalcoatlus on Kayla's plane and then sending Aland and Ellie to their deaths in the mines. His subordinates don't seem at all surprised by it; he clearly did this before...
Then again, blocking excavation in the amber mine is bad for business, and Dodgson is all about the money. The most likely reason of why the Dimetrodon haunt the caves is that the signals from the chip doesn't work well beneath the whole ass mountain - and good luck flushing out the known man-eaters from the dark tunnels WITHOUT using lethal force (they are precious assets after all).

The Qutzalcoatlus scene was so stupid I had to throw popcorn at the screen. A live one would weigh less than 300 pounds and its maximum flying speed would be lower than the stall speed of the aircraft they were in. It would be like my truck hitting a buzzard, annoying and expensive depending on where it hit but NOT likely to take down the plane.

Personally, I wonder if the twisting tunnels and dense rock of the mine is why they can't bring them out. The letter mentions "their caves" so it seems the Dimetrodon were already troglodytic, contained in a local natural cave of unknown scale, and then accidentally unleashed into the mine. These chips are presumably controlled by radio or wireless, both things that would be unable to penetrate the surrounding bedrock. And even if they could drive the Dimetrodon, are these Caves mapped? Where would they evac the animals to?

  • @Dinoslay
    @Dinoslay Рік тому +50

The Dimetrodon attack was easily my favorite part in Dominion. The lore surrounding the mines is a nice add-on to create some questions about the morality in letting the animals roam free the way they did. It’s almost like safety wasn’t really a priority to those who allowed it.

I would have been a creepy reveal if dodgson told them he sent people down there to be killed over an intercom to Alan, Ellie and Maisie while the the Dimetrodons were being held back by the chips then turn off the chips and said "now you three will be there dinner I haven't fed them in awhile and they are hungry" leading to a whole chase scene.

I have one question. How did they managed get Dimetrodon and Mosasaurus DNA?
I mean, marine reptiles live under water, so they can't get bit by mosquitos; and Dimetrodon lived millioms of years before the first mosquitos.
Funfact: Dimetrodon's posture was more like an alligator than a lizard. It is suspected that it might had whiskers or primitive hair. And JWD Dimetrodon is heavly shrink-wrapped.

    Few things here.
    1. The brain chip hadn't been planned for prior to the Dimetridon outbreak in the mines. Possibly why the Quatz needed the "Arial net" to be controlled. There hadn't been need yet.
    2. The depth of the caves interfere. It has been a while since I have seen Dominion, but I don't remember seeing them in the mix of creatures at the end when they all get "called" back.
    3. They were planned not to have any?
As for the brain chip thing. It seems that it affected Rexy and I would think that it would be something that would have to be done in the egg or shortly after hatching.

I see there being one of two possibilities:
    1. The Dimetrodons were cloned prior to the invention of the chips and were able to claim the caves as their territory unchecked because of this.
    2. Dodgson deliberately kept them unchipped so he could use them to get rid of anyone he needed to. It's also possible that he simply deactivated their chips once he realized he had use for them.

Really shows that biosyn/Dodgson never really cared about these animals. Puts the most ancient animal humanity every cloned back into existence into these dark caves as execution animals where there is no telling if human meat could be poisonous to them. Especially since they mostly ate amphibians. Also leaving the lone Pyroraptor to eventually starve, alone, and in the elements cause it didn't come out right.

Like in one of the episode dodgeson/biosyn were interested in kash's brain implant chip to control the dinosaur but since the original person (kash) die by the velociraptor and the main crew destroying the chips and what if dodgeson/biosyn tried to recreate the dinosaur controling chips but wasn't able to recreate the chip to its fullest potential but rather a waterdown version of the original chip and thats why they can't control dinosaur in the movie

I mean the Pyroraptor... it's a raptor, possible it could've found some way to get it out or disable it being hyper intelligent (granted it is in the brain rather than elsewhere like when Indominus removed her's), however yeah is a bit odd that some of them were just let loose. Maybe I'd chock it up to they just didn't have the resources to keep up with all of them, especially if they started breeding quickly and out of control, so maybe the Dimetrodon down there don't have any being a 2nd or 3rd generation that never got chipped. Very possible there is an oversight on the writers parts, but anything is possible... life finds a way.

    1. They were bluffing with all the dinosaurs being chipped. I suspected that only the most "valuable" ones were chipped. Or in other creatures there were different types chips/prototype chips/failed chips.
    2. Certain animals, like the flying reptiles, pyroraptor and dimetrodons were used as a way to prevent trespassers, kill disloyal workers etc. The flyers would be able to take down potential helicopter and airplanes that they didn't want around. Pyroraptors running about the mountain range surrounding the valley could keep out and in people trying to go through the mountains to escape/enter. And ofc the dimetrodons were kept there as an easy way to get rid of unwanted people and would prevent anyone to go into the mine shafts without permission to for example steal the amber from there.
I also thought that perhaps the dilphosaurus had to get chipped still, perhaps it was newly arrived or it mananged to get past the chipped somehow (by being sneaky or something) or the chips all started to malfunction as soon as biosyn fell during the fire, leaving the dinosaurs room to wander around?? Idk it was just pure speculation while watching the movie

Therefore, I believe that animals have learned to bypass this control. The dimetrodons... are nice additions to the 3rd installment to the Jurassic world trilogy and nice little build up to them in the previous movie with a taxidermy specimen in the Benjamin Lockwood manner... I mean males about as much sense in a build as the subtle line crosshairs told drift in age of extinction about how Optimus prime will be brain washed in the last knight after taming grimlock...
But all and all alot like the komodo dragons from the movie komodo even having the hatchlings from walking with monsters life before the dinosaurs having them climb trees to avoid being the victims of cannibalism... these were the apex predators during the Permian time period and yes they were known as mammel like reptiles but I myself admit I haven't been keeping up on recent studies of that's valid or not anymore and outside the Jurassic franchise this animal made multiple appearances in other media and prehistoric documentaries even having a fire breathing individual over sized in the classic land of the lost series done by stop motion...
Also I like to know what you think of the smilodon inclusion in Jurassic world camp cretaceous season 4 and what you think of the two Syfy channel original movies sabertooth and attack of the sabertooth on dragon curve can't wait to see what you think of them it's all kinds of cheesy but yeah being only 8 or 9 in 2002 and 11 or 12 in 2005 when those movies came out yeah that just speaks for itself...
Take it easy my friend another great video. 💪😎

This might sound a little ridiculous but I think the dimetrodons are allowed to be in the mines because they can use the brain chips to simply make them not move, since it was possible to do so in camp cretaceous, so Dodgson just didn't care to get them out because of that ability, in his mind they can just freeze them when they need to, do whatever they need to do, and unfreeze them afterwards, again this is probably a ridiculous idea but it just popped in my mind as a possibility so I thought I should share, the idea of them being used to get rid of snoopers is an excellent idea though

Maybe the chip only worked part of the time and the company figured that part of the time is better than not at all. Then once the Dimetrodon entered the cave it entirely stopped working.

(1:01) Thats what I was thinking, of how the Dimetrodons found a way out and decide to live in the mines. That or maybe Biosyn left the mines abandoned after they collected enough DNA and decide to leave the Dimetrodons there (kinda like the Nothosaurus in Camp Cretaceous season 5). Speaking of season 5 they did show how Dodgson got the brain chips (or at the very least was inspired to make slightly different ones than the Mantah Corp brain chips), so maybe the Dimetrodons broke out and took over the mines way before Biosyn made the brain chips. ⛏🪨🤔🤷🦎💀
Not gonna lie the music in the beginning of this video sounds creepy as hell (kinda reminds me of the "Godzilla vs Biollante" soundtrack). 🎼😨🌹

I loved the dimetrodon scene in Dominion but it really could've been een more. by that point in the movie we already expected/knew that there was no true danger to any of the main cast, so the terror factor is null and void
as for the animals themselves, I've always, since a kid, LOVED them. so, I'm all for it.

The whole movie was a complete messed up, I don't know why people think Fallen Kingdom was so bad, it wasn't great really but it was good as a movie that tried to be more darker just like the novels but Dominion in other side... it was even worse than JP3, one thing that I can't tolerate is brain chip, I think everyone knows how much Camp Cretaceous season 4 and 5 hated by fans for this topic, it was just too fiction for this franchise, at least for now.

I think a really cool plot for a future Jurassic world movie would take place far in the future and all the contents are coming back together again into a new Panja, and the climate is rapidly heating up due to global warming. Many of the modern animals and humans are struggling to survive because of constantly getting hunted by dinosaurs and the extreme heat, but also because of the DX disease which doesn't really affect the dinos, but is like the Spanish Flu to humans and modern animals. The Earth would be reversing back to the Mesozoic period and humans are struggling to not go extinct and trying to protect and preserve modern animals from the same fate.

In my opinion, I think a couple of Troodon would have been better to pop up rather than the Dimetrodon. I see Dimetrodon being something out in the sunlight making use of that sail which may have absorbed the ☀️rays for heat regulation. Not hiding out in the cold dark caves.

  • @ODSTMoody

I'd like to call back to the original Michael Crichton novel, when they find the nests of velociraptors in the caves. What if the Dimetrodons are in the caves, and are able to breed? No brain chips in ones that are born out of captivity, therefore no tracking. I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to assume that something is going on in those caves that Biosyn doesn't know about. It would make sense, given how they portray Dogson as having quite the ego and assuming everything is under his "control".

  • @CasualPrince8

I completely disagree about the Dimetrodons potentially killing the protagonists being 'silly'. The reason it works so well is that they would be pretty much useless antagonistic creatures in any other location, but the cave is so claustrophobic and small-scale that it's easy to get cornered and the Dimetrodons work perfectly as the sort of 'monsters in the dark' style antagonists.

Unfortunately all the questions regarding the dimetrodons, the aerial deterrent, and pyroraptor can all be traced to the infamous rushed production of Dominion. If there's something I'm missing I welcome anyone to point it out and correct me, but I'm just hoping this isn't how the Jurassic Park franchise ends movie wise.

Tbh. Yeah. This is another example of purely missed opportunity. It’s so sad to think for all the extra time this film got to really work a script to be the best it could be, we somehow ended up with Dominion.
The theri scene was amazing and had a tension we haven’t seen in honestly a long time. And this? This just adds to the idea that this movie would have been AMAZING had they not pulled punches. There was no tension. Too many ideas that never got proper show time. Dimetron in this hypothetical scene would have been chilling if they’d have given it love… I’m so sad this was never really played up.
    Rip fan hopes

However, the most interesting thing is that these caves are empty. Dimetrodons have to eat something (I doubt deer would be allowed there). If Biosyn wanted to get rid of the dimetrodons, they would just seal off these caves and wait until they starve to death.
However, dimetrodons are able to survive there. This is very disturbing. I guess Dodson made sure they had something to eat (and he probably had many enemies)

Dominion, to me, could've been a two parter at least. It would've been better. So many characters in so little time overall.
They could've split the story in two, have part 1 starting with the Chekhov's Gun of the locusts and hints of Biosyn and the genetic modifications before moving to be predominantely about Claire and Owen and how they try to find Maise before they meet up with the OG trio.
Then part 2 recaps and does a flashback to the OG trios side of the story and how they end up meeting with Claire and Owen by the end of the film. Or something like that.
Plus, I wanted to know what happened to the Blackmarket woman, whose name I forgot, who set the dinos on Owen.
So many things I wanted to know and not mentioned.
