Hello from hot springs ,Arkansas,USA, just found you tonight since I am knitting my first ranunculus and loved to see yours! I also like sun dragon .she has helped a lot. I’m impressed with your English, it’s not and easy lang use . You do great!! Thanks for all your work and I love the song!
Thank you so much! Happy that you enjoyed my video and that you are knitting your first Ranunculus. Yes, Sun Dragon helped me as well 🙂 Have a lovely day! Best wishes from Belgium.
Your video appeared on my feed andI’d already been considering making the Ranunculus, but haven’t bought it yet… but now I’m convinced. It seems like the perfect build-a-sweater pattern, easily customisable depending on the fit, no matter which yarn you might have in your stash. I’m an avid lace knitter and also a spinner, and I love to customise the yarn I spin to get the exact knitted project I want. With this one, it looks like I can relax more where the yarn weight is concerned, customising the increases beneath the yoke for the fit, and I can simply knit the length that I want. My daughter has high functioning autism and positively abhors restrictive clothing and scratchy clothing. I think knitting this pattern with an alpaca, merino and silk blend or a mohair and silk blend might create something that is comfortable, whisper-light and still warm. Greetings from the border between East and West Flanders!
I enjoyed this video and how you explained every detail about the choices that you made upon the Ranunculus. Also how well you rolled that R! Lol As a non native English speaker I can say that I had no difficulty in understanding what you said and I’ll be coming back again for more
Hi from Oregon USA. Love your Ranunculus and your English is perfect and I love the song your son made for your podcast. I also have a UA-cam channel and I love our great and supportive creative community. So nice to have found you. 💖
Hello from fabulous Las Vegas! I’m knitting my first Ranunculus in 100% linen. I much prefer working with wool, and this is a challenge. But with our hot climate in the desert, I think the linen will give me more wear. It’s fun to see so many variations of this versatile design.
Glad I found you! I'm in Oregon and a grandmother of 8. I crochet and knit. Love your video and will be watching more of them. sending love, hugs, prayers.
Hello and welcome to my channel! I’m happy you loved my video. Nice to hear you have 8 grandchildren and that you love to knit and crochet. At the moment I’m having physiotherapy to recover from lower back problems, so I’m not really making any new videos at the moment. But please enjoy all the videos that are published on my channel… I hope you enjoy all of them. Thank you for your good wishes and have a lovely day. Best wishes from Belgium 🌷
I have back issues, too. I'll have to look up what physiotherapy is, never heard of it. Well, heal quickly dear lady and hope you are back one day. Love,hugs,prayers.@@thepiaknits
Hi, Pia. Tonya here from California. Loved this video. Thank you for sharing the name of the tips and tricks YT channel...Sun Dragon Tips and Tricks. I am a new knitter, less than a year in, and I love the Ranunculus. I bought the pattern but have started knitting yet. I enjoyed your Podcast.
Thank you so much Tonya! Yes, Sun Dragon helped a lot for me as well! Good to hear you have started knitting and I’m sure you will enjoy the Ranunculus pattern. Have a lovely day and best wishes from Belgium 🌷
Thank you so much! I’m happy you enjoyed my video and my project. At the moment I’m doing physiotherapy because of lower back pain. This takes a lot of energy. And doing some simple creative things is always helpful. It’s very hot these days in Belgium… looking forward to cooler weather. Have a lovely Sunday 🌷
Hello from a first-time viewer. I really enjoyed your chat about the sweater. I have not made this pattern and after your podcast I think it would be a good one to try after not knitting a garment for a very long time. Also, your English is great...I can't speak another language and admire those that can.
Thank you, I enjoyed your video. Your English is very good, I understood everything even though my native language is Spanish. I am from Chile. I love your Ranunculus, I will knit one very soon
Thank you, Teresa! The Ranunculus really is a very nice pattern to knit and I’m happy with my first one. I’m glad you like my son’s special song for my channel 🙂 Have a good start of a lovely week!
Hello from South Australia first time here and so pleased to have come across your podcast as it is as are you just lovely. I will be a returning viewer as it was a most enjoyable visit.
Thank you so much and a warm welcome to our little online creative community here! I hope to be able to edit a new video soon but at the moment I’m patiently waiting for my computer to be repaired. Have a lovely day and see you soon. Best wishes from Belgium.
Greetings from Southern California. This is my first time to visit your channel and I like your style. I'm so impressed with those who produce videos in a non primary language. Your Ranunculus sweaters are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your knitting experience.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you like my videos 🙂 I love my Ranunculus sweaters and at the moment I enjoy wearing my summer versions knitted in a cotton/linen blend yarn. My next video will be out on UA-cam next Friday (if everything goes well). You’re very welcome to watch. Have a lovely weekend 🌷Best wishes from Belgium.
Hello Marjam! I am a new viewer, and I am so happy that youtube recommended your video to me. I love ❤️ your son's song he created for your introduction. It's very nice. Your English is very good👍. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful Rannunculus sweater in crimson and Carmine. These are my favorite colors. What a transformation the blocking made with this beautiful yarn. I am eager to see the sea blue, summer styling of your next Ranunculus sweater. 💙 I love the aqua blue sweater you are wearing in your video. Its styling is simple and elegant. You have given me so many ideas for my own creative journey. ✨️ I am a granny who lives in Alaska. I love creating knitted and sewn garments and gifts for my grandchildren. I am still a beginning knitter. I am currently in the process of creating a cardigan for myself, as well as knitting socks, mittens, and hats for my family. I love those quick and simple projects. I'm sure that as my experience grows, I will enjoy the sweater creations just as much. I am currently teaching a friend to knit for the first time. I love to pass on a skill I enjoy so much. Do you know if school children are taught to knit in Denmark? My mother-in-law was from Ingelstadt, Germany, and learned to knit in school. The school my grandchildren attend, teach hand crafts to the students, adding new skills, with each progressive grade: kindergarten, simple stitching; grade 1-4, knitting; grade 5, crochet, cross stitch and embroidery, grade 6- 8, wood crafts. Music and German language is taught throughout their primary studies. Well, Marjam, thank you for your video. I will subscribe and look forward to your new creations.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you have enjoyed my son’s song as well as my video 🙂 My blue coloured summer Ranunculus is knitted and off my needles and I definitely will show it in my next episode. Creating gifts for our grandchildren is so fantastic! And quick and simple projects are so nice to make. I don’t know if children in Denmark are teached how to knit, but it’s certainly very good that your Grandchildren are learning all those creative skills from early age. As soon as my computer is repaired I will continue editing my next video. Have a lovely day and see you soon! Best wishes from Belgium.
Hi Pia - oh what a lovely video. You are so calming and natural. I have been sat here knitting and enjoying your simple explanations on the ranunculus pattern. I have just bought the pattern and you have helped me so much even before I have started! I am English but live in Sweden - I am an English teacher - and may I say your English is fabulous - if only I could speak Swedish as well! Looking forward to see ing your next video - bye for now xxx
Hello Nicola, thank you so much! I’m glad that you like my videos. I’m sure you will enjoy knitting the Ranunculus, it’s just such a clever pattern. My daughter lives in Sweden too! Learning a new language is never easy, I think… unless you’re super talented 🙂 Best wishes from Belgium… and my name is Marjam 🌷The PiaKnits is a combination of pianist (since I’m a piano teacher) and knitting.
I have a lot of respect for your work. The fact that you can be so articulate in another language and know the terminology so well to explain your making is admirable. I'd like to have that facility one day (I'm studying German) 🤞🏾
Hello from Washington! I just found your video and really enjoyed listening to you. I love the Ranunculus pattern-it’s fun to knit. Thanks for sharing!
Hello and welcome to my channel. I’m glad you enjoyed my video and that you like knitting the Ranunculus pattern. At the moment I’m recovering from lower back problems and I’m not really making new videos. But if you like you can enjoy my other videos and silent videos as well. Have a lovely day and best wishes from Belgium. 🌷
Hello from Tennessee, USA! First time viewer here, love your style and your projects. I know Rebecca from the Sun Dragon store, she's very knowledgeable and her store is full of beautiful things, including art supplies. Your son created a beautiful song, you must be proud! Looking forward to seeing more episodes ❤❤
Thank you Raquel! And welcome to our little online creative community. Yes, Rebecca’s videos about knitting the Ranunculus by Midori Hirose helped me a lot. At the moment I’m knitting my 3rd Ranunculus 🙂 … this time one for summer. I’m looking forward to be able to make my next UA-cam video but I’m waiting for my laptop to be repaired to continue editing. Have a lovely day and see you next episode 🌷
Hi Marjam, You have just come up on my feed and oh what a lovely podcast, I have enjoyed every second of it and of course subscribed. Your Ranunculus's are beautiful and the colours are just my cup of tea. I am knitting a Whitmoor Sweater at the moment in a copper shade. Your English is excellent and your special song created by your Son is lovely too. See you again very soon. Take care and happy knitting Amanda from Lincolnshire UK xx🧶🧶🧶
Thank you Amanda! And welcome to our little creative community here. Whitmoor sweater is a pattern that I don’t know… I will look for it on Google 🙂 Have a lovely weekend and see you soon. Happy knitting 🙂
Thank you so much Candee! Yes, learning another language definitely is a challenge. Sometimes I’m trying to learn Croatian, but there’s too little time left after doing all the household chores and spending time on my creative projects 🙂 Have a lovely day!
A lovely podcast. First time watching & I enjoyed seeing your sweaters. I have knitted 2 ranunculus & am now doing a summer one. Thank you from Scotland 🏴
Thank you Christine! Great to hear that you too are knitting a 3rd Ranunculus 🙂, I’m halfway my 3rd one in a cotton blend yarn for summer. Have a lovely day in Scotland and see you soon.
Finally, I’ve cast on the Ranunculus! And your podcast clarified my stumbling block - the increases to determine size. Your explanation was so clear and simple so I shall proceed with confidence. Thank you❤
Hello Jackie, I’m happy you’ve enjoyed my video! And glad that I could offer some help with the Ranunculus pattern. Have a lovely day! Best wishes, Marjam 🌷
Thank you Crystal! I very much enjoy making my videos. And to me it’s an ongoing learning process and the perfect motivation to practice my English speaking skills. Yes, I’m very happy with my own special theme song. It’s composed by my son during the first lockdown due to the pandemic. I’m glad that you enjoy the video and the music too 🙂 Have a lovely Sunday!
You are so lovely and your English is beautiful!! Thank you for your Ranunculus.. I am just beginning mine in DK w Suri Alpaca held together. Sun Dragon was so helpful!
Good morning and welcome to my channel! Thank you for your appreciation 🙏 I loved to knit the Ranunculus pattern and I have yarn to make another one. But at the moment I’m doing physiotherapy to recover from lower back problems and I haven’t been knitting for a while. Yes, Sun Dragon is very helpful, I can recommend it. Have a lovely day. 🌷
This is the first video I watched of yours and found it so peaceful and relaxing! Your English is amazing as your second language and your knitting is beautiful too! You also remind me of Meryl Streep so much, the way you speak and look and even your mannerisms just reminded me of her. Looking forward to more videos!
Hello and thank you so much for your nice words! I didn’t know I would remind anybody of Meryl Streep 😂 … At the moment I’m recovering from lower back problems and I’m not really making any new UA-cam videos. But you can enjoy all my videos on my channel… You’re welcome! Best wishes, Marjam.
I'm always so impressed by people who can make videos in a different language. Your knitting is beautiful and I absolutely love your accent as well. I can't wait to watch more of your videos and hear your piano pieces. What a lovely podcast ❤
Thank you so much! And welcome to our little creative community here 🙂 I hope to finish editing my next video for next weekend. Have a lovely weekend and see you soon!
Thank you for sharing. Your podcast is very calming for me and a joy to listen to while I'm knitting. I just finished my first ranunculus sweater and it's light blue. The only difference that I made was added short rows before the hem to have a long back. I referred to the Love Note pattern for that technique.
Beautiful red Ranunculus Marjam. I knitted a winter one and have some Holst Coast for a summer one. The Drops Belle sounds lovely. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it next episode. Thanks for the tips and tricks channel as well.
Thank you Emma! I definitely will knit a winter Ranunculus again, for next autumn/winter season. Knitting with Holst Coast for a summer Ranunculus cultus is really a great idea. Will you knit with the yarn held single? Or held double? Knitting with Drops Belle feels lovely. I will tell you all about my experience with it in next episode. Have a calm and creative Sunday! 🌷
I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast, Marjam, thank you for your hard work in putting it together! I loved the intro and the special PiaKnitsong and it was really interesting to listen to your process of making your first Ranunculus jumper- I look forward to seeing the second one when it is complete!
Hello Helen and thank you so much for your comment! Yes, as you know, making videos is a lot of hard work. But I really enjoy the learning process. The Ranunculus jumper really is a very interesting pattern. Of course I will show my second one in next episode. 🙂 Have a lovely and creative Sunday! 🌷
Thank you, Lisa! Great idea to try the Ranunculus! Maybe when you’ve finished your Lopapeysa? I’m glad you like the jazzy music composed by my son. Enjoy your Sunday … when I’ve finished replying to the comments I’m going to watch your new video, looking forward. See you soon! 🌷
Thank you Debbie! I’m glad you like the colours. Colours are so important to me and I want to wear more colourful garments everyday. Enjoying beautiful and favourite colours can lift us up. Have a nice Sunday! 🌷
Thank you Marjam. A very nice video. And your English is very good. I have made 6 Ranunculus sweaters and found Sun Dragon videos a lot of help to me.💜🧶
Thank you Mary! It’s not always easy to do my video in English. But by practising we get better at anything I think. 🙂 Great that you have knitted 6 Ranunculus sweaters! I’m knitting on my 3rd one. Have a cosy day and see you soon.
Hello from Scotland! I’ve just found your channel. I have knitted two Ranunculus jumpers so far, and now I really think I need a red one!! Yours is a lovely shade of red.
Thank you Margaret! Yes, red is a very beautiful colour for the Ranunculus, I like it a lot. It’s so much fun to knit our own jumpers or cardigans in our favourite colours. Have a lovely day in Scotland and see you soon.
I've made four of the Ranunculus sweaters by following the Sun Dragon videos! I didn't wet block them but rather used my hand held steamer which was perfect. I enjoyed your video... first time viewer I also want to add that I only made short rows in the back I made the smallest size and don't have a large chest so I wanted the front higher The fit is perfect!
Hello Gia, yes Rebecca's tips & tricks are very helpful. I think I will try to block my 2nd Ranuculus by using steam. Wet blocking is a lot of work. I like the Ranunculus pattern a lot, it can easily be adapted for any size I think. Thank you for watching my video and I'm glad you liked it. Episode 25 will be published next Friday. So have a lovely week and see you next time!
Hello from Ontario, Canada! I am knitting my second Ranunculus. The first one was a short sleeve, oversized version in linen yarn. This one is a long sleeved, more fitted version in non superwash wool. I think I will probably make a third one as well. A t-shirt style with a DK weight, cotton blend yarn. I love your red Ranunculus! It is such a great shade of red. Happy knittting :)
Thank you Jennifer! Lovely to hear that you too are going to knit a third Ranunculus. So far I can recommend the Drops Belle yarn, has a nice drape and is really affordable (just sharing information, I'm not sponsored at all )Have a nice day and see you soon.
Thank you. I started a Ranunculus and found it an interesting and challenging knit, however it was knitting up very small so I abandoned it. Now I have seen yours I may try again in a larger size so I will add it to my long list! Thank you again and happy knitting wished from Scotland.
Thank you Morag! Don’t give up on the Ranunculus, it’s such a nice pattern and you can easily adapt to any size. The yoke is the same for all te sizes and the shaping starts when increasing at the raglan for the armholes. You just continue increasing until your sweater has the size that you need. Last weekend I cast on my 3rd Ranunculus 🙂 … I will tell you all about it in my next episode, but at the moment I’m patiently waiting for my laptop to be repaired, so… no video editing possible for now. Have a lovely day and I hope the Scottish weather is nice today! (Don’t forget to try on your Ranunculus several times while knitting it, so you can see how it fits you) Good luck and enjoy.
Your song is a delight to listen to! Family of many talents! I have made 2 Runculous sweaters myself. I, too, had to watch those videos multiple times. They were very helpful. I enjoy learning new tricks in knitting as well. You look so lovely in blue and red so those sweaters will be a staple in your wardrobe 💙 Thank you for sharing
Thank you Darlene! I’m happy you like the song and I’ll tell my son he can be proud of his work 🙂. Yes, the Ranunculus pattern is really addictive. I’m now knitting my second one, but I already have the yarn to knit a third Ranunculus. I love colours and my goal is to wear more colourful garments every day. Have a nice and cosy Sunday and see you next time! 🌷
Hello from Lower Alabama, USA. As a first time viewer I am so happy to have found you! Your podcast is extraordinary beginning with the beautiful song your son created for you and ending with your motto and finished, blocked garment. Your English is very good. I am making my first rununculous and consulted the You Tube videos. They were very helpful. I am encouraged by seeing how the lace yoke looks after blocking. The sweater you are wearing is so lovely. Will you share the pattern name please?Thank you so much for the time you spend to share with us. I am anxious for your next video.
Hello Linda, Thank you so much for your compliments! Yes, I love the song my son composed for my podcast… I’m very proud of him. Happy that I could offer some help with the Ranunculus pattern. At the moment I’m not really making new videos because of a recovery period from lower back problems. But you can enjoy all the videos on my channel. Have a lovely day and best wishes, Marjam 🌷
I forgot to mention… for the pattern of the sweater I’m wearing I used the following book: “The Knitter’s handy book of Top -Down Sweaters, by Ann Budd. And I made the pattern myself, based on the design on page 23 (Seamless yoke sweaters. Good luck! Marjam 🌷
@thepiaknits prayers for tour back issues. I, too, am undergoing treatments for my back with 5 bulging discs, stenosis and spurring. Knitting I can do in my wheelchair.
I clicked away from this pattern because it was like a giant sack! Now everyone I see is talking about how wonderful this pattern is, and it looks different on every person! I might have to change my thinking! I like Joji and Hintem Sturm (sic) patterns for their ease of construction but maybe I need to branch out.
Hello, I understand what you mean by the Ranunculus looking like a giant sack. I wouldn’t knit it myself in this oversized version although it can be a beautiful style for some. I would definitely recommend the pattern because once you have knitted the textured and lace yoke (the instructions are the same for all the sizes) you can start increasing at the raglan and you just go on until you have the size that you need or want. But don’t forget to try your Ranunculus several times in between to check. Last week I cast on my 3rd (!) Ranunculus 🙂 and I will tell you more about it in my next video (as soon as I have my computer back from the repair service) In the mean time… don’t be afraid to try the pattern. Have a lovely day and see you soon.
Hello my first time here and I love what you had to say also your English is very good. Can you tell me how to get the pattern for those lovely jumpers.
Hi Marjam, Your Ranunculus' are lovely. That Belle looks like a great yarn too. I have yet to knit one, but I do have some pink singles & pink mohair for when I get around to it. I give you a lot of credit for podcasting in English (yours is excellent) and being able to speak 2 languages is marvelous. ☺❤
Thank you Eliz! Yes the Belle yarn is nice to knit with. I’m looking forward to see the result when my second Ranunculus will be of my knitting needles. Pink will be a fabulous colour to knit your first Ranunculus! And my English is not perfect at all but I learn a lot by watching videos made by my podcaster colleagues. Not only about knitting and sewing techniques but especially by listening to their English 🙂 Have a calm and creative Sunday! 🌷
Thanks, Maryam, I was interested to see you choosing 5mm (and even considering 4.5mms!). I have one Ranunculus in a kid mohair/silk + lace weight cotton/linen held together, on 6mms as per the pattern. It's too holey to wear without something underneath - a camisole at least. So I'm interested in a less holey version and may copy you by using 5mm. BTW, in English, because the Brits(and Canadians) use numbered needle sizes and the Americans use a *different* system of numbered needle sizes .... it's become standard to call millimeter sized needled just that: 6mm needles (not Number 6 or even Size 6). Did you get your 6mm needles for your birthday?
Hi from the UK! My first visit here and instantly subscribed, love your voice❤️. The sweater is beautiful and I am inspired to make one. And Tobias’s music is lovely, really relaxing and uplifting at the same time. Thank you for a beautiful video, love Pippa xxx
Thank you so much Pippa! I’m glad you liked my video and my son Tobias’ music 🙂 Yes, the Ranunculus sweater is such a great pattern. I’m sure you will like to knit one yourself. Have a lovely day and see you soon.
Hallo Pia, Witch Size do you Knit for the Red Ranunculus and how manys Stiches are you started. I am Form Germany - I understand you very good.
I ve not knitted a ranunculus yet I usually knit in pieces on straight needles just a preference but can use circulars in ur opinion would it knit up in dk yarn single with no other mohair or other yarn do u think?
Hello Glenda, The Ranunculus is knitted top down in the round on a large size needles. The pattern recommend needles nr 6. I knit it with nr 5. And you can use any yarn. If it’s’ a very fine yarn you wil have a lace kind of garment and with a DK it wil be a warm jumper for autumn or winter. You definitely can knit with DK yarn held single, no need to add mohair. It just happens that I had these two Holst yarns in my stash 🙂 Have a lovely weekend!
Hello! Thank you so much, I loved listening to you. I love the sweater you are wearing too!
Yes, you're doing a GREAT job speaking English. Your blue sweater you're wearing is also beautiful.
Thank you for sharing❤ beautiful knitting

Hi from Quebec Canada. I’m starting the Ranunculus so your podcast was very helpful. Thank you!
Hello Joanne, great that you are starting to knit your first Ranunculus! i'm sure you will enjoy the process. Have a lovely day and happy knitting!
@@thepiaknits Thanks for your reply Marjam - I am just watching your latest video!!
Liked your presentation .Looking to trying my first ranunculus. Thinking of using a worsted weight in red or rose color.
Take care and happy knitting
Amanda from Lincolnshire UK xx🧶🧶🧶
Thank you Amanda! And welcome to our little creative community here. Whitmoor sweater is a pattern that I don’t know… I will look for it on Google 🙂 Have a lovely weekend and see you soon. Happy knitting 🙂
Your English is very good. I haven’t done to well trying to learn another language. Your sweaters are lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Candee! Yes, learning another language definitely is a challenge. Sometimes I’m trying to learn Croatian, but there’s too little time left after doing all the household chores and spending time on my creative projects 🙂 Have a lovely day!
First time viewer. I also knitted the ranunculous sweater. Could not have done it without rebecca at sun dragon and H. Midori’ tutorials . Thank you
Thank you for watching my video! Yes, I agree… I also learned a lot by watching Rebecca’s Ranunculus videos. Have a lovely week!

Thank you for taking up the challenge of making videos. I enjoy them. And how wonderful to have your own special theme song!
@@thepiaknits I will hold my Coast yarn single but pair it with a strand of Titicaca
@@emmabutcher Good idea! That’s how I knitted my Red Ranunculus. It will be lovely.
Only just started watching your pod cast, would love to knit the Ranunculus sweater, but where can I get the pattern from, Roberta x
Lovely sweaters, Marjam. I am tempted to try one! Super cute and jazzy music for your channel, too. So glad you are feeling better. 🥰
This is so lovely, my daughter loves to knit. Kudos to women.
Your sweaters are beautiful! I love the colors you chose. I also enjoyed how you explained about them.
Thank you Debbie! I’m glad you like the colours. Colours are so important to me and I want to wear more colourful garments everyday. Enjoying beautiful and favourite colours can lift us up. Have a nice Sunday! 🌷
Just found you and really enjoyed your podcast look forward to many more
Thank you so much! And very welcome to our creative community. Have a nice day and see you soon. 🙂
Thank you very much for your lovely inspiring video! 😊😍 What pattern, please, is the blue sweater you are wearing?
You look so lovely in blue and red so those sweaters will be a staple in your wardrobe 💙
Thank you for sharing
@@thepiaknits thanks that was so kind of you taking the time to get back to me greetings from edinburgh Scotland
Sorry sorry Marjam - why did I call you Pia - silly me !
Well… Pia is very logical: Pia knits 😄 You could not know. It’s cute. Don’t worry 🌷
