You gotta read that Hush story, the movie is lightweight trash IMO, but the comic story is gold! I'm on the fence about this fig... I like how it looks but i'm also worried about the cape, the option of a wired or regular cape like Mezco did with supreme knight is probably the ideal scenario. The truth of the matter is comic book renditions of capes is that they take major artistic license with the cape size, flow, and shape. In real life most people's capes would not be feasible, so in toy form they start to look silly if they get to big.

You haven't read Hush? An iconic Batman story. The cape is big buuuut his cape was big in the story. They actually scaled back the cape on Superman(his cape is also big in the comic)

I do appreciate your honesty and thoughts about the cape and figure overall. Though the cape is not practical in a real life sense lol but we are talking about a comic character. Based on the Jim Lee style art from the Hush comics it’s pretty accurate. Thighs could be a bit thicker IMO but still overall sculpt,likeness,articulation and paint is on point. Love this figure and best Batman ever maybe figure of the year IMO
Yeah it captures the art style perfectly, but it's not practical for a figure.

Jeez they nailed it, I think this may be the best 6 inch Batman ever. I will be getting the black version tho since he's expensive and I like the color better.

I love the figure and the Cape. Boog needs to strengthen his Posing fingas in order to step up to task of managing this Glorious Bolt of Blue Billowing material. This man's drunk off that ML Kool-Aid. Ive seen incredible photos of this figure everywhere and in-hand I can attest to its greatness. I collected this Line of Comics and it just happened to be the Last run that I was picking up at my Local Comic shop before it closed down for good in the Early 00s. This is EXACTLY the way the cape and Bats looked in that run and Im glad Mafex went all in on the style. Hope to get even more characters from this line, at least a Nightwing.

That’s scary, I cringed when you popped his knee now I’m scared to buy it, is it ok? I never bought Mafex and I was looking to see how are they and this figure looks amazing and I been looking for something along this line to buy one.
Batman’s cape has been depicted large on multiple occasions from blowing in the wind to even being able to cover him and another person in it.

EVEN as action figure it’s in the way in set ups. It’s not practical for anything but solo shots of him standing on top of buildings.

Awesome channel! As a fellow collector, I appreciate your insight regarding the quality of various Marvel and DC collectibles. I agree that Jim Lee Hush Batman Mafex figure is terrible especially the cape.
Mafex should've taken a cue from Hasbro since their 1970's Target exclusive Storm figure has great interchangeable capes made from plastic and not that cheap cloth material Mafex had for Batman's iconic cape.
Although I’m not a huge fan of the cape, it’s definitely accurate to the Hush story line in the comic.. that’s how Jim Lee drew him.. so Mafex definitely stayed true to the source material

Funny, it wasn’t until I watched your review that my excitement for bats was toned down a little, and I think it was actually the lighting lol. I still am glad to be getting him though as that articulation is awesome, but I damn near dropped my phone when I saw that knee pop off, I pray and offer offerings that my Batman doesn’t have that issue. But thanks for the review- perspective welcomed👍🏾

I would almost agree with you on the Mafex vs ML Spider-Man if the technology on the butterfly joints was better. Go to a double ball jointed butterfly joint instead of a hinge and it would be in the door.

SHF JL batman is kind of weird but idk why i still like it, I think i like that he appears really buff and he's just really fun to play/pose around with. I also got him on a clearance sale on a black friday so maybe that's why haha I modded him as well, took the mid torso joint off of the old mafex BVS batman (had to sand it to fit) and put it into the SHF JL batman torso, I think that fixed him up real good too. Anyways, lots of batmans on the market so def alot of choices for everyone. I think alot of people are excited for superman is because there isn't as many good superman figures out there and this could be a good definitive comic superman (at least that's my hope as well).
So glad that i changed my mind on this. I wanted the superman and this guy but man oh man that leg falling off and that blanket/cape is a pass for me
What's up buddy it's been a long time, 15 years I think. I had a bunch of figure channels back in the day that got taken down due to copyright. I've been collecting again for the past 2 years. It seems like the AF community is dead Compared to what it was years ago. What happened to the guys. Century, Realistic, Anthony James, JRA, Web x. Did everybody quit UA-cam and collecting. My new channel is different it's all about my different hobbies but I've been collecting like crazy again. I'm glad to see that you and your brand are still around. Is ACBA still growing?

Really a great looking Batman & no complaints on the cape for me but proportions are a bit too slim for a Hush Jim Lee style Batman imo. The Revoltech AY Batman is much more Hush-like Jim Lee style proportions imo while also being a really great looking Batman so that's still my #1 Bat. Thanks much for the detail & objective review.
Batman using bed sheets as capes now?
The cape, mold, price range & paint job of this figure made me skip this one and bought White Knight Batman by McFarlane, which is in my opinion get the better proportion and true to the source material with reasonable price.
Can’t really pose that figure though.. imo, this is the best articulated Batman figure
Yo, boog! Don’t bother with the animated film, it’s not that great and changes a lot of things for no good reason, including the identity of Hush himself! No spoilers, but Hush isn’t even Hush in the film. Not a solid adaptation, but this review is 100% solid 💜

Great Job!! I thought you did a fantastic job unveiling the visual aesthetics of the figure, in addition to the flaws in regards to the structural engineering!! I like the figure, however, Mafex has serious QC issues that have yet to be rectified! It would seem that the company’s price point expectation is high, but not the product itself! Mafex is a wash for me!!!! It’s better to keep their products in the box and look at it because if you touch it, your doomed!

Right now it’s the most hyped Batman figure , both blue and black variants so I guess it’s still MAFEX for the win. Btw , MAFEX Spidey 075 is still GOAT 6 inch Spidey , I really don’t know how you can place Marvel Legends above him

Good review Boog, I love this figure but yeah I agree the cape needed to be smaller. It's crazy how a figure this expensive is prone to so many issues. My alternate Batman head has a shit paint job and his left shoulder joint is very tight and I'm scared of breaking it. Also the animated movie is ass. It doesn't adapt the story nicely at all, you're better off reading the comic.

Totally agree about the Cape being too Spawn like. A strong enemy like Bane could just grab hold of that cape & swing him around like a rag doll! Is it just me or does the cape on the Black suited version look normal sized? Is this figure in scale with 80th anniv ML Cap? That will be the deciding factor in whether or not I make my 1st ever MAFEX purchase.

Jim Lee draws batman and most of his male characters more beefy and stockier looking. So yes, this is too skinny for a Jim Lee figure. Think it looks pretty nice, but just doesn't scream Jim Lee to me.
The new spiderman is hot and can go toe to toe with mafex spiderman. I held off from getting previous ML spiderman because of the articulation.
