I love how Mark focuses on the best food, and isn’t into vested interests or being paid off by restaurants to promote them. It’s interesting that some of the best food is actually from some of the cheapest most down to earth restaurants.
Does it mean I've been watching too many of your vlogs when I totally remember the soft shell crab restaurant? I do not ever remember seeing such joy and ecstasy on your face as you ate that crab. I would die from the spice but I would try it just to have that look of rapture you had Mark. Ying always looks like she's having such fun. Well done you two.
Mark your videos are absolutely FANTASTIC !!!!! As one who loves to see other countries' cuisine and the preparation of their native foods I love your videos. Keep up the wonderfully interesting Videos.
Hi guys, Mark is just making his face show the excitement of enjoying his food. Everywhere travels and through every country. Appreciation for each bite and country
Oh Mark thank you so much for your videos! This one really reminded me the best period of my life when I lived in BKK. I lived just 300m away from Anusawari and remember all theses good food shops around this area. I used to go out for dining with my Thai friends to this calm and quiet neighborhoods. Bangkok is really amazing and one of my absolute favorite cities for living!
I really love watching someone who enjoys their food as much as I do. Food is the greatest pleasure in life and brings us closer to others. Thank you for your videos!
17:21 I literally thought you were going to go 1990's Total Recall with your eyes ! Does look super though, love soft-shell crab, keep enticing Mark, I wish you all the very best.
I went to Soei several times, its spectacular, the Fish Curry and Crab are outstanding, worth the trip from Victory Monument, you can walk there its just 23.6 minutes away, come hungry and get there early. I am salivating just writing this.
Many years ago my husband and I were in Bangkok and we ate at a restaurant that when you went in they gave you a cart and you picked out your vegetables and your seafood. The fish was still alive flopping on the refrigerated counter. You checked out giving them your cart. We passed through a line of chefs cooking on woks flaming up while they cooked the food. We were led to an outside beautiful area with white tablecloth covered tables. When your food was cooked it arrived hot and very tasty, I had jumbo prawns and a wonderful fruit I had never seen to this day. I was wondering if that restaurant still existed. It was a wonderful experience Thank you Mark and your beautiful wife for providing the travel and food experience we could only dream of. .
*Mark, I've been an avid fan of all your travels and meals but man I've never seen you so happy eating that soft shell crab dish and fried egg salad, Wow Mark enjoy happy holidays and a safe and healthy 2016 brother!*
You noticed those mannerisms too. The guy is great but his mannerism look climatic..( sorry ). What is the purpose of taking such big bites? I,d really like to know.
You should really write a guide for off-the-beaten path Bangkok. Bangkok clearly has a lot more than Sukumvhit, Khao San and the yellow temple - would love to see the bits that the locals go to!
+theubermensche1 Thank you very much, that's a great suggestion. I did included everything within these guides in a free ebook as well: migrationology.com/2weeksinbangkok/ There definitely is so much to discover in Bangkok - even when I live here!
Hearing Mark get so happy about an egg is just amazing! I love food but I don't think I've ever been so excited. Absolutely awesome!!! And I love, LOVE soft shell crab!
Mark, you and Ying should go visit a Hmong village in Chiang Rai! Many of your Hmong American Fans would love to see it! And I would be able to share the video on a Facebook Group page with over 15,000 members who are passionate about the Hmong community. :)
Mark Weins....I literally always put your channel on in the morning as my meditation while I am doing other things...because your voice of excitement...on the back-ground the scream of your son and whenever you say 'ying...Ying" your wife has made me feel good to start a day. Thank you!
This was one of so many amazing videos of yours that I have watched over the last few days. I only just recently discovered your vlogs but I am so happy that I did. I'll be returning to Bangkok in December for the second time and after watching all of your videos I just can't wait to get back and tackle as many of these amazing finds as I can. Thank you so much for doing what you do, it really benefits us travelers with a passion for food
Hi Mark, I've had the same dish on many occasions "Boat noodles" but at a restaurant near Sukhumvit Soi 23. My wife is Thai and loves it. The place is always very busy. You should try it sometime if you are down Asoke way. To find it is very easy. Imagine you are exiting the small shopping mall where the italian restaurant "Little Italy" is: turn left and walk for 30 seconds, walk past the footbridge, cross the small side street and is on the corner. Enjoy :)
Yin has such a beautiful smile! Really made my day to see her in the video riding that bike and giving that huge smile! Happy Holidays to you two! :) I hope to meet you two some day!!
Mark, just watching you having that foodgasm at the restaurant where you had the soft shell crab made me drool. What an amazing place it must be. I could literally taste it!
I like the videos that Mark makes, so don't get me wrong...I usually don't react when Mark adds -y or -ful to words that don't use those suffixes at all but when I heard him say water liquid, I had to laugh.
Marks videos are my safe comfort zone. i am a 3 time combat Marine veteran and as soon as i put on a video of his i am immediately in a good mood. Something about his happiness makes me happy. Keep em coming brother.
First time I see Ying looks so happy smiling at the Muay Thai show. Now we know the secret to make her smile. It's a bit expensive for a foreigner but well worth it to put a smile on a lady's face.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I will be in Bangkok in this upcoming May and will definitely try this place. Loving all your videos actually. Keep up the good work.
Mark, you eat like a fat guy, but you are so skinny!!! I eat like a fat guy and I am fat. What the heck is up with that??? Could it be because I am several decades older than you are and sit around on my large backside watching your videos all day?
+Wayne Warmack 1. He is younger 2. He moves (walks and I'm sure exercises daily) 3. He eats a lot of fish and rice and veges (digests easily meaning metabolism is high).
Myyyyyyy goodness. I ate dinner just a bit ago, and I'm STILL salivating at the sight of that incredibly delectable curry soft shell crab dish!!! I ADORE curry sauces! Probably why Thai food is one of my favorite in the entire world. SO jealous right now!! lol
+drew some of the curries can be really oily and fat due to the amount of coconut milk, however i think he is never fat due to the high amount of walking he does xD
+AWDYDOOD That type of fat is healthy. I think it has largely due to his fast metabolism, walking a lot, and not eating lots of sweets/processed foods. From his videos it seems like his diet consists of wholesome foods with little to no sweets/processed foods.
+Seggi Armandi Yes indeed. Mark commented in the past that Ying often eats other dishes first prior to her taking over the camera and/or starts the shared dishes after the beautiful photos are taken. You can actually see this in the crab dish; notice that a corner is already gone when Mark takes his first bite. And earlier in this series, Mark returns to the table and films Ying eating before he gets settled in. Not sure why someone would think Ying doesn't eat. Oh well.
you make me more miss Thai foods back home there which I do not have them in the last 10 years, and make me very much hungry, thank you very much,, Thai guy in America
Thanks for this video series Mark! I'm heading over to Bangkok in february with my buddy and your videos are a great asset for me to plan my itinerary. I'm not a fan of the spice, but watching your passion for food just whets my appetite so I'll just eat as much good food as I can!
Hey Mark, I love your videos. I've been binge watching for days now! I'll definitely need to hire you and Ying when I come to visit! Thanks for making me hungry!!!
So awesome!! Mark, you all are having way too much fun over in BKK!! Wow, I'm glad actually, that you grabbed the temple chanting during that one meal.. that is so pure Thai.. I remember the first time I heard that, working at a blood drive at a municipal center in Sichon (on the coast north of Nakon Si Thammarat) and early on, the curtains slowly opened and seated there were about 50 monks who began chanting like what we hear in your vlog. Outstanding! Another great installment! You both be safe - Sawadee Krap - and Merry Christmas!
I love your ability to interact with the viewer. You mentioned the fight and I said oh wow the right then you said yeah I know I've never seen one. Your awesome. Keep it up.
This is a video from 2015,i have been watching all your videos,im so obsessed watching it now, next time when i make noodle,im going to buy pork skin, looks delicious, its time for me to sleep ,its 12 at midnight but im hungry now 😍

I think Mark's reaction to the egg and soft shell crab was the happiest I've ever seen him be...must have been out of the world amazing!!

+Pouya Peighami Hey Pouya, great to hear from you, glad you lived around Anusawaree. I lived in the area as when I first came to Thailand.

Less than 90 deg maybe, impossible
You noticed those mannerisms too. The guy is great but his mannerism look climatic..( sorry ). What is the purpose of taking such big bites? I,d really like to know.

When Mark hits the wide eyed side angle u know it’s good
My goodness. I want the curry soft shell crab and the pepper corn version so bad.
Even the egg dish looks fantastic and the crab looks out of this world!
14:00 Fish heads, fish heads, rolly polly fish heads, fish heads, fish heads, eat them up, YUM!
One of the most appetizing video from your Bangkok's series Mark. Those dishes are definitely something out of this world.
Mark does a great job pronouncing the names of the food, but I'd still love to see Ying's face and see what kind of reaction she has haha.
Mark Weins....I literally always put your channel on in the morning as my meditation while I am doing other things...because your voice of excitement...on the back-ground the scream of your son and whenever you say 'ying...Ying" your wife has made me feel good to start a day. Thank you!

+kkz201 Yes, glad you do too!
I love the natural medicinal tones of Thai food. The bottom of the drink looks like burdock.
Thai food must be really healthy bc you never get fat 😑 lucky
+drew some of the curries can be really oily and fat due to the amount of coconut milk, however i think he is never fat due to the high amount of walking he does xD
+drew or mark just have fast metabolism
+AWDYDOOD That type of fat is healthy. I think it has largely due to his fast metabolism, walking a lot, and not eating lots of sweets/processed foods. From his videos it seems like his diet consists of wholesome foods with little to no sweets/processed foods.

+qiao yi ooi but you didn't see what ying did to the foods behind the camera :p
+Seggi Armandi Yes indeed. Mark commented in the past that Ying often eats other dishes first prior to her taking over the camera and/or starts the shared dishes after the beautiful photos are taken. Does any one else think his reaction to the foods he eats is really annoying
+S7H Yeah, head tilt to the right starting to get to me lol
The farther he tips his head to the right the more he likes the food....is there anything he doesn't like????
Sean yes
I dislike when he stares right in to the camera. It's like he is checking himself out or staring at me. STOP IT.. OK.
Pretty simple solution. If you don't apparently like it. Don't watch.
Thanks for this video series Mark! I'm heading over to Bangkok in february with my buddy and your videos are a great asset for me to plan my itinerary. I'm not a fan of the spice, but watching your passion for food just whets my appetite so I'll just eat as much good food as I can!
