Since I've started watching you about a month ago, my entire family has fallen in love with your videos. My mom calls your the "Handsome guy". We love how you are so enthusiastic about your travels and positive attitude.
Dai Pai Dong is usually for local people, and that's why waiters/waitress don't speak much English. I love the way you explore local food in different countries. Keep traveling and eating! Stay safe during this pandemic moment.
Mark is the best. Some others are good but I love how he shows not only the food but the countries. Some of the places I have only read about. The family adds to it.
One tip for ordering in this restaurant without an English menu. There is an app called open rice. Type in the name of the restaurant and there are all the photos of the food. Point it to the waiter. Bam! You got it
You can also use Google Translate and hold it over the characters. It will translate it for you. Sometimes it may be hard to tell what it actually is (Crazy names = Crazy Translations), but you could always Google it!
*I'm noticing in all your video's in sequence the closer you both get to home the happier you seem and much more at ease, fantastic foodgasm tour today triple thumbs up Mark & Ying!*
Rate My Take away and Mark Wiens are my favourite u tube channels. They absolutely brighten my day and cheer me up no end.Since I am elderly and partially disabled I need all the cheering up I can get, especially after this horrible year under the shadow of the pandemic.
So sorry this series will be ending soon! It's been truly wonderful traveling with you and Ying! Every time I travel it's all about the food for me too!
Clams in black bean sauce... Hong Kong was always one of my favorite places to visit - I'm jealous! That combination in that city just brings back memories. Thank you!
you are so famous with this move , after you take a bite for a taste ,you always lean to your right side with an "ammmm" sound , i like it ...keep it up mark thank you
Watching Mark's videos are a love/hate thing for me. At the beginning I always think to myself, "wow this food looks great, I'd love to make it to Hong Kong and try some authentic cuisine one day." But 5 minutes in I'm hungry and regret clicking on the video.
i guess this around the world tour is an amazing experience for everyone. lots of us are now inspired to go on a travel to anywhere at least once in a year. thank u Mark :) :) :)
My dad is born in Hong Kong before he immigrated here to Canada 🇨🇦 where he ran and owned a Chinese takeout restaurant. My family is planning to travel and tour to Hong Kong soon and totally would love to visit these BBQ stalls. If you see all of these video footages of these chefs chopping the roast goose, pork belly, char siu in such a fast pace and also in a safe manner, it's impressive!
Every time when he eats something I know it's time to "LEAN TIME TO HIS RIGHT" . I love ur videos Mann specially those plates filled with good stuff, plz make more..
Hey Mark! To remove the shell on the mantis shrimp, you can flip it over on its back, use a chopstick (thinner would be better) to poke it into the shrimp's body at the base of its tail and push the chopstick through toward its head. So now you have a "mantis shrimp skewer", flip it over on its stomach and hold the chopstick against the flat surface on your plate, and grab the tail and lift up, and the shell should come off in one piece.
I read your bio and loved it! I'm a Christian too and have my own local tv show here in Hawaii. I just subscribed to your channel and also to your website. Outside of your work, do you get to witness to people from other countries? I could imagine the opportunities God must provide. On one episode, you were in a tent I believe somewhere in the Jordan? Well, a man that was peeling away meat from a dish you were eating was wearing a ring on his thumb that had an inscription that said "I love JESUS." I thought that was so cool! Did you give him that ring and was that man a Christian? Anyway, thanks for doing what you're doing and I pray that God will use you in an amazing way! God bless you Mark and I look forward to hearing from you!
+peu cakma Then go watch Food Ranger then. Nothing is more annoying than when people go on other people's channels to whine and complain and promote someone else's channel.
Mark bro....what I like in your clips is your smile and the way you enjoy consuming the food. We all love your clips and you make me hungry every time I saw your vlog. Thanks for sharing your Hong Kong experience. God bless you. Keep them coming. 😊👍👍👌❤
Love watching Mark's videos! He is always cheerful (that's what traveling and eating is about, right) and no matter how much he eats......he is still skinny.
Weldone Mark. Keep up the good work..you truly making the world small and reachable to us all by bringing many beautiful countries and cultures to us such a great way. I don't know what else to say other then keep having fun. Thank you
Exactly! It's pathetic how people are trying to tell him how to enjoy his food. What's next? Are they going to start lecturing him on how to dress? How to walk?
You and Trevor James (aka Food Ranger) are the best channels that keeps me connected with home sweet home by showing all the food back in China. One the great things I love about home is all these street Food that doesn't have here in Canada.
Mark, I enjoy your food vlogs in HK. I am jotting down all the food places you visited. You are the best food vlogger. We like your ttrademark head swing to the right and facial expression after you take the first bite. Very funny. Keep vlogging. Take care.
mark, the easiest way to peel a mantis shrimp/prawn,may i suggest that you hold the prawn with both hands with the hard shell facing you and press it from the head down to the tail, you will see that the hard shell will come off easily.
Thanks for all the world tour clips. I enjoyed them very much. Wow, you impressed me every time. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Dave in The Netherlands.
I appreciate the fact that Mark has finally spoken the truth...its near to impossible replicate any of these meals in a chinese restaurant if you are non-Chinese (may be other than expensive ones). They will not give you any attention...you simply dont exist for them...if you are non-Chinese...rude...always in hurry ppl.
I dunno, he gets a bit "masturbatory" with it. I get that his enjoyment is real, and I can respect his lack of self consciousness, but I usually skip his videos now bc he and his content don't seem to be evolving. Also his videos are too long, as someone else mentioned.
So glad to see you try out local Dai Pai Dong in lesser known places in Hong Kong! As a local in hk, I say the best restaurant are found in local housing estates 👍🏻 thank you and keep up the good work!
His face when he takes his first bite of really good food.. That's what i look forward to when i press play, it makes me feel like i can actually taste the food. Good food is good I love you Mark!! (no offense Mrs Wiens)🙊🙊
Wonderful video and the food looked stunning! Puts anyone's tummy to grumble. I've always been a sucker for Asian food. Thanks Mark and Ying for sharing. Blessings. Iván from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
People go to Hong Kong for shopping, I go to Hong Kong for the food. HK has over 3500 restaurants. This means you can go to a different location for breakfast, lunch, dinner everyday of the year for about I0 years. It has good food and good deals if you know where to look. Ask the locals, even the subways have tons of shops in them and their 7-11 stores have way better food selections. You can use your subway card to buy from 7-11 too.
Just a tip, there is a higher chance, if you eat inside the bbq pork place they usually give you the better part of the meat compare to taking out. If you buy take out bbq pork, you can ask them for the leaner portion or more fatty part, they will try their best to give you that.
Woof !!! What a food marathon ....Thank you Mark, thank you for this amazing ride for 4 months ... Such joy !!I have nothing more to ask...You have visited my city Kolkata and tried authentic bengali food... Thank you Love from India
Watching this as i sit here eating my lean ham and pasta salad with a can of diet coke. I wanna say eff it and go get some chinese food for real! Great video Mark!

Hi Mark, thumbs up to all of your food vlog. May i ask if do u use any navigational apps when looking for the dining places that u go to? Thanks in advance
I think the delicious way to savour that crispy shrimp is to eat it's shell. My colleagues and I have planned to visit Hong Kong in November ... just to enjoy our eating...Thanks a lot for this wonderful VDO.
Char Siu literally 叉烧 means roasted with a fork, and choy sum 菜心 means the heart of the vegetable, and bok choy 白菜 means white vegetable in reference to the white stems. The japanese chashu came from this Cantonese dish Char Siu. Japanese Shumai also came from the Cantonese dim sum 点心 dish Siu Mai 烧卖. I usually just eat the pork skin and discard the fatty chunk underneath it. The same goes for roasted duck which I would eat the skin and the meat, but discard the fatty part.

One tip for ordering in this restaurant without an English menu. There is an app called open rice. Type in the name of the restaurant and there are all the photos of the food. Point it to the waiter. Bam! You got it
Or, you could show respect and learn the correct language...Screw your app!
You can also use Google Translate and hold it over the characters. It will translate it for you. Sometimes it may be hard to tell what it actually is (Crazy names = Crazy Translations), but you could always Google it!
Yea you're not allowed to eat in our supreme country unless you learn our language and have our Cantonese blood and eyeglasses.

When Mark smiles and starts leaning to his right, we know the deal! 👍😀
Hello Mark this video is very good i enjoyed it a lot.
Mark's descriptions of the taste of food are incredibly precise. Good reference for tourists. I think the last fish pot dish is a Szechuan cuisine.
Mark... well done for the entire food mission tour.. May the Lord bless u and your family.
Every time when he eats something I know it's time to "LEAN TIME TO HIS RIGHT" . I love ur videos Mann specially those plates filled with good stuff, plz make more..
I always noticed that and then he comes up with oh wow!
Hey Mark! To remove the shell on the mantis shrimp, you can flip it over on its back, use a chopstick (thinner would be better) to poke it into the shrimp's body at the base of its tail and push the chopstick through toward its head. There are no words to describe food but mark describes it well......😎
Mark! Editing out your enjoyment of the foods you taste (as you taste them) is a really bad idea. It's part of what makes your channel unique.

Yup. When he shows his sheer joy, I make a mental note that I need to try it too!
