Oooo my favorite thing to answer.
Yes they are real AMGs. This isn’t a C300 with an AMG badge slapped on that back of it. Sure, it’s not a V8. But, what is AMG? Mr. Aufrecht and Mr. Melcher took a stock mercedes and modified it into a race car. AMG is the aftermarket modification company for Mercedes-Benz. That’s what they have been known for for DECADES. AMG isn’t all about V8 engines either. Look back at AMG history and see what they did and how far they came.
The C43 has an AMG-modified V6 twin turbo engine, AMG 9-speed automatic transmission, AMG suspension and ride control, AMG dynamic select, AMG brakes, AMG performance exhaust, etc. This whole car is made by AMG.

I have no complaints about my 2019 C43 wagon. Best car I've owned. Everything stock OEM and maintained by dealer. No interest in mods or beating the rev counter to death. 385 hp is more than enough for me plus PE exhaust. If you look hard enough you can find faults in anything.
Has it been reliable
Wifes getting a mint 18 C43 AMG Coupe 4Matic, great vehicle and she is looking forward to it big time, she is not modifying it and she is not driving around revving her exhaust lol. Majority of people dont modify their cars especially as you get older cause you have been there and done it , however this car just spoke to my wife feature and look wise.
I think Rev Limiter is AMG’s way of saying “Not good for engine, trust us” Although it sucks... 4500 On my 2020 still isn’t enough 😢

Buy the rv3.1 special features so u can raise the rpm’s to 6000 rpm
If you work hard for your money and have owned 2 or more performance cars or bikes, you'll not need a limiter, you just know never to rev it. It's 1. Bad for the engine. 2. It gets hot and things catch fire. 3. It's the lamest thing to do, your car gets enough attention unless you're compensating for something else.
I dont know if this is true but in some cars like Porsche 911 gt3rs if you put the car in manual with the flippers of gearbox the softlimiter Will be gone and you can rev IT all the way up in manual dont know if this is in c43

I think all the newer style Mercedes have the 4K rev limiter. Would you recommend this car as a “starter” amg?

Dude. I have same cars Like you. C43 2016. How did you get burble on P or N ?!? My cars have burble only in S+ . I have new exhaust and down pipes . I want burble when I am in Parking mode or Neutral and I hit the gas pedal. Please respond me .
The burble is from my tune!
The AMR tune I believe removes the limiter. Not saying it’s a good or bad idea, but there are options out there.
In terms of “what’s the point” if your not going to tune the car...I have two words “voided warranty”.
I bought my car new and I’m not willing to have issues getting something repaired under warranty due to a tune. Now in another few years that’s a different story lol.
That’s true 😂 but the good thing about tunes is that you can revert it back to stock. Most dealerships won’t spend the time and energy on trying to see if the car was tuned. It’s pretty hard for even the experts to tell. However, for example, If you bought a brand new 2021 C43 and tune it asap and the turbo blows up within 5,000 miles, the dealership might keep the car for a while to send some information to AMG headquarters to see if the car was modified in any way. Very rare case though with most tuning companies 🤔
I’m in the same boat. Not risking any tunes until my warranty runs out, and I have about five years left.
AMR sucks. They are the best w/ Eurocharged tunes

They’re both amazing. However, the C43 sounds better imo. The CLA45 has slightly better performance but you should test drive both!

mayb ur downshifting too late, prob likes more aggressive downshifts, my 7 spd e400 is like that and thats not even an amg so id imagine yours would be tuned even more to handle aggressive downshifts smoothly

IF your plan was to modify from the start, why didn't you go with a C400, to begin with so your tuning budget would have been SOOO much larger??
Also, you can tune the soft limiter out. How come you haven't done that?
That’s such a stupid question c400 isn’t nearly as tunable as c43, 2k worth of mods in a c43 beats a full built c63s from a dig, with 550 hp with e30. U can never get anywhere close to those numbers with c400

I’m about to buy my first Mercedes this week. I’m looking at a 2017 c43, with 48k miles on it. Any recommendations before I check out and purchase the vehicle? In addition, any problems I should expect; should I buy an extended warranty. I plan to modify the vehicle. Would love to hear your thoughts, let me know!
Definitely look into buying the extended warranty. Also, get a PPI to make sure the car is in good condition. Make sure it has AMG performance exhaust; it makes one hell of a difference

I've had many AMG's he in the UK, and the reason why is the refinement, performance, handling and build quality. The C43 is ideal for the weather here in the UK and makes it a practical car.

Not too sure but I don’t do it often at all. If you do it, make sure the engine oil and trans temperatures are warm enough

Many people said that C43 AMG is a fake AMG for the reason of its engine doesn't have engineer signature badge. But I disagree with this for this reason, not all the AMG engine was manufactured by artificial assembly, don't you know that in German the artificial assembly cost is very high and expensive, if all the AMG engine was manufactured by artificial assembly, demand exceeds supply will happen. So please mind your words on your thought of C43 AMG.

Depends how the car can handle it. That’s why some cars (like the Nissan GTR) can push 1000whp and others can’t

I owned a c43 and the best thing I ever did was sell it during covid! seriously AVOID Benz and use that money as a down payment for a house and buy a reliable Toyota/Honda cause these cars break a lot and shit just stops working and parts are fucking expensive
