The car looks fantastic. The period correct wheels will likely be sorely misunderstood, but really suit this build while adding a modern touch. Nice choice.
Not a huge Toyota fan but those wheels hit me right in the '90s nostalgia.
One thing that won't be misunderstood is that the wheels cost more than the last supra i bought.
You can be periodically correct without using shitty looking oem Supra style wheels lmao. They’re actually terrible

My little tip about wheel alignement is to check or do the rack center point. If you have a steering column that allows the splines and hub to be anywhere around, having the wheel straight doesn't mean the rack is centered. You can align the wheels to the correct values but the rack could be off. ZF racks usually have a pointer on the shaft and the body, or you could do a lock to lock with a piece of tape at 12' o clock on the wheel and dash and see where you land.
I had to align my BMW several years ago because the shop just not get it right my steering wheel was always off center. I just do it myself now set the toe to 100% where you want it Mark tie rod ends. Take it for a drive and note the amount of steering wheel misalignment. Turn both rods equal amounts until the wheel is straight. Reviewing my Honda Civic manual from 2000 actually shows you how to do this with just a ruler and some string and how to calculate Pythagorean theorem Honda manual claims you can get it more accurate than a laser system.
@@Nathan-gj8ch the string method works perfectly fine. But when you are dealing with multiple angles adjustment front and rear, this is where a laser is great, you can visualize what are the angles before and after. About your ride, considering it is okay suspension and tire wise, if the shop can't make it right then change shop, but if you have worn out bushings or uneven tire wear, you can put it dead straight on a laser an it won't go straight on the street. Make it straight by adjusting tie rods and based on the wheel is just hiding the real cause

When you guys showed the wheels by themselves, I really wasn't digging it. They just looked so plain. Then when you put them on the car, they really looked nice. You guys made a great choice for the wheels. Very nice build.

Like others have commented, I wasn't sure off the car but once the package was together it's looks just right. Also approve of the matched wheel clocking when you first revealed it. I do this everytime I change from summers to winter...maybe a little ocd.

*Brake Caliper Paint* It clearly says to bake that on there. And just believe me when I say, if you bake those @200F for 60min the finish is considerably more glossy and smooth. It also lasts longer and it way more durable. Not my first rodeo, so if ya want a couple nice tips: Get an old large enclosed AV cabinet and add a cheap kitchen hood vent and plumbing to it, perfect little paint booth for smaller part (up to a short block depending on cabinet size) and an old used electric oven (once you bake paint in a oven, don't cook food in there....).
The wheels are super cool. I think a slightly more aggressive looking tire with more square shoulders would really take them to the next level.

Looks amazing. Thank you for shouting out Rock Auto. I will grab the turbo brakes+rotors+pads which I have been looking at buying for a long time. This is pretty much the exact setup I want on my Supra. Mine has a silly body kit but I have bought all the original black trim body kit and I will also just have a lip on the front. I'm still not sure what wheels to go. I wanted complete OEM but I can't seem to find the stock wheels anywhere

I dig the wheels in general, but they seem a bit out of place with the spicy wrap color you went with. If the car was still black like oem or the classic supra red I think they'd look a lot more at home.

I think the massive center caps on those wheels make them look alot “softer” than they otherwise would. Looks pretty solid none the less

I'm admittedly not a big Mark 4 guy but this car looks amazing. Love that y'all went with the GT build keeping the auto and stock twins, not many people would go that route but it's honestly very period. Would love to see a similar build with a Soarer/SC300/SC400 as a direct comparison.

Car looks great. What a transformation! Work wheels are one of my favourites so I prefer the work wheels but its cool what you've done. The flexus wheels were perfect though!
I never would have imagined adding a lip to OEM MKIV wheels would make them look this good. They actually remind me a bit of SSR Koenig and RE-Amemiya AW7 hybrid wheel, but obviously without the exposed hardware.
Considering this is meant to be the 'beater' Supra, those OEM+ wheels finish it so well, Hopefully when you sell it it goes to a good home for a decent price.
Looking forwards to the next Supra project and this will be the big power version!

Strangely I didn't like the wheels until the outside shots. Then in the sunlight and seeing the car rolling, it all made sense. You guys have created a very cool stock plus legend.

Awesome job guys! One thing to note: seems the radiator/intercooler in the lower front looks very exposed to the rocks and debris from the road, any plans to add some sort of a small mesh grill to protect it?

Really like what your trying to achieve, personally wish the centres were colour coded to the car with the polished lips, as I’m not sure on the two tone mat and polished. Could do with wrap.

I've enjoyed this build... not just parting it out or throwing it together willy nilly, but bringing it back to a proper state says a lot about your values, and I appreciate it. With regard to the wheels, they definitely fit the OEM+ vibe you guys were going for. But the tires NEED MORE SIDEWALL! Both front and rear. Otherwise, great job.
I lOVE when people hate on getting OE Brake calipers from RockAuto...especially 4 piston calipers :D REALLY a GREAT deal!
Clean but I would have definitely went with stoptech dimpled or slotted rotors. Possibly a darker gray later on the face of the wheel.
I would have shot some paint on the rear calipers but other wise that looks really good. Just seeing black wheels replaced by wheels in any other finish makes me happy.

I can’t wait to put Conti Extreme Cons on my car, I’ve always done Pilot Sports , but you guys have really turned me onto going with Contis next.
I personally would like a bit wider or spaced out wheel, I also think a more flat edge tire would look better, but that is nitpicking for sure. I think is a great gateway supra for a jdm fan, but with prices now on supras its probably a 100k car ;)
Those wheels are awesome, totally dig it. Never heard of augment either, but turns out I've seen their stuff all over but never heard the name.
Firstly, I think the billet centre caps would look a bit more sleek.
Secondly, if the front spacing to the string was 55 and the rear was less wouldn't that mean toe in?

The car looks unreal! Absolutely my dream car. Supra's have become so extreme that OEM+ is the only way to be different. Absolutely a dream car. I probably cant afford it, but please let us know where its being listed. Id love to have a crack at purchasing this car. This is legitimately my dream car.
Those wheels are really something special. They look amazing! Although I think they would look even better with slotted and/or perfurated discs for the brakes
