Thank you so much for acknowledging this card size (5x6.5 also) I work primarily in this size. It gives me so much for space for creativity. Also lets be real; THIS is a greeting card. Check the stores. The A-2 is just a note card. It always gets on my nerves that the industry refers to them as "standard size" I do find ways to use the little dies on my full size greeting cards, but it is frustrating that SO many things are really too small for what I do. As such an influential papercrafting leader, I hope you will let the manufacturers know how much we would like dies etc. to be sized up for the actual "standard" greeting card. A shout out to Spellbinders for making embossing folders larger!!! More please!!!
When I first started making cards, I followed other card makers and made A2 sized. My family, however, thought they were too small, so I started making larger sizes. I now ONLY make 4x6, 5x7, and slimline. There are so many beautiful products (coverplates, dies, and embossing folders) that I have to pass on because they don't fit my cards properly. I was over the moon when I saw Honey Bee Stamps came out with 5x7 nesting scalloped frames! Finally, I had something pretty I could use. I also didn't feel left out of the trends anymore. Thank you, Jennifer, for making this video. I never thought of changing the 'size' of my dies. I will now be able to buy beautiful products that I couldn't buy before. I apologize if I sound redundant... but thank you, thank you, thank you!! 🙏🩷
Hi Jennifer. In the Uk. 5x7, 6x6 and A5 cards are very popular. It costs the same to post A5 as A6. Thank you for spreading so much kindness. I really appreciate all the inspiration xoxoxo
Yay ! 5x7 is the size people buy more on card shops or larger. In the UK people think the bigger the card the bigger the love 😂. Absolutely incredible cards . X
Love making 5x7 cards . Love all your ideas!!! Jennifer wish you could do a video using Bibi Cameron's trellis cards in different colors. Your cards are gorgeous Jennifer. I love the unique ways you stretch your die cuts for different looks.Thank you for sharing all these ideas 💖
Oh, Jennifer, I feel you custom made this video just for me! I now make 5x7 and slimline cards on a regular basis! Thanks so much for all these tips and tricks to stretch my supplies to fill the extra real estate! ❤
Thankyou Jennifer for sharing many of your God given creative talents. It is so wonderful to really see how many different looks you get from each product. Very helpful I just fell in love with Bibi Cameron's talents when you showcased her tutorial the other day. Also, I really am impressed with how these family run businesses have gone way above expectations with their designs...fabulous.
Especially loved Bibi's Hummingbirds. Can you please do the opposite in future, make smaller cards ? Craft shops seem to sell cards in small sizes that are awkward to decorate, some help doing so would be gladly appreciated.
Thank you for showing how you added dark green to the leaves! I really like how you made the 5 x 7 card and then used the leftover stitching dies for another card. Thank you for the inspiration!
Thanks for a very useful (as usual) set of tips for 5x7 cards. Bigger cards are also a good way to start using up a stash! It's a slow but steady use of materials.
So many pretty cards, I love this new line from Bibi I have them all on my wish list. When I get paid again this month I will be getting some of them and then next month the rest of the line. My parents loved hummingbirds and had over 10 feeders at different places in the garden and would sit and watch them throughout the day. Every time I see one I think of them in Heaven watching the birds.
Hi. Thank you for sharing this informative video. Generally, a 5x7" card is the smallest card I make and most are larger so I found this video very useful to think of ways to expand these ideas further. Thanks again for sharing your lovely cards and ideas. Have a great day.😊
Thank you for this video, Jennifer! 95% of my cards are 5x7 and I've quit buying anything that doesn't easily fit that size. So glad to see more products for "real" card sizes, but you've given me ideas for smaller sets I already have.
Your cards are so beautiful! I found that I enjoyed making 5×7 cards when I made a few at Christmas. I really appreciate your tips on using dies meant for smaller cards on 5x7s. .
Thank you so much! This is really helpful as I mainly make 5x7 and slimline. The only time I make A2 is for some thank you cards. I too love the Spellbinders embossing folders because they can be used for various card sizes.
Thank you Jennifer…. I Love 5x7 cards favourite size…. Always look more classy than the smaller version more popular with most makers I watch from the US x
I love, love how your mind works. So enjoy stitching on cards and love all of your ideas. I will have to try some 5x7 cards. Thank you for all do and sharing it with all of us.
So beautiful! You always make such gorgeous cards! You are such an inspiration! It’s thanks to you that I am going to try to do stitching on my cards. I am subscribed to the Spellbinder’s Deluxe Caboodle Club so I will be getting dies for stitching. I’m glad you did some 5 x 7 cards. I prefer 5 x 7 cards. The A2 cards are just so small.
Wow what a fabulous video! Can see all the work you put into it. That’s a lot of work for me. I’ll stick to the A5 with regular materials and leave the 5x7 cards to my Anna Griffin supplies as all of her items are made for 5x7. You always inspire me no matter what you do and I thank you for doing all of this hard work just to share with all of us! Thank you Jennifer!❤😊
I love 5x7 cards and they are great for when you need a card that is large enough for multiple people to sign, etc. I just wish I could find more cover plate dies for 5x7. I often use my silhouette Cameo to make coverplate die cuts for 5x7 cards. Great video!
We spend so much on supplies, why skimp on the card size. I have lots of colored paper, that it is not a waste to me. How many cards do you do a year? Them A2 can be justified. How much money in ink, stamps, dies, or even supplies for electronic die cutting machines do we spend? I only have dies, so the money I save on the rest means I can make a bigger card. A2 is just too small for me. I've been making 5x7 cards exclusively since 2010. Thanks for thinking of the 5x7 card community ❤
Hi Jennifer, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful tips and tricks on your card making 👍 I thought your video was so helpful & you gave very good & very clear instructions step by step from start to finish thank you 👍❤️
Thank you thank you thank you Jennifer! I am a 5x7 cardmaker and always feel left out when there's a pierced coverplate or the like. I wait and wait - I didn't know that 5x7 is not a standard for the craft companies, so I may be waiting forever!
Beautiful cards! BTW…almost everything Anna Griffin has is for 5 x 7 cards, there are some slimline and square things thrown in but almost all of her dies are for 5 x 7.v
Thank you for this video. It is great to see how to make a A7 card using products meant for other sizes. I have seen that waffle flower has a layering A6 die and i was wondering if you did cards in this size? I am a curious to try it as it is a bit bigger than an A2 but not so big as an A7 which i find is harder to get nice envelopes for. I tend to make my own but then only for special occasions. I love your teaching style and that you help me with ideas to stretch my increasing stash!!
My card hero! Yay I love 5x7 & slimline sizes. Great video! I’m so used to seeing Becca Feeken make her big 5x7 APGs also size down to fit A2. (I really miss her). It’s really refreshing to see things go bigger and you nailed it 🎉 Of course now my reasoning to not buy something, “it’s too small for my taste” just got weaker lol 😂
Thanks for sharing these awesome tips for using what you have to make 5x7 cards. I make a lot of that size to send to my local nursing home residents on their birthday so this video was super helpful!
Hello 👋 when I make my 5x7 cards, I keep the scrap pieces from that one 8.5x11 sheet. I use the scraps for layering die cuts, which come in handy when I'm out of double-sided foam tape. I'll even use the scrap pieces for swatches. 😊
Jennifer, do you know what's happening at You Tube? I can only get this video out of the dozens and dozens I've saved. I had to subscribe to your channel again and nothing but this one video is here. I am so bummed. I went away for a weekend and all has changed. Help if you can. Thank you.
YES, the card video I've been waiting for forever! I'm not an A2 girl, give me a REAL sized card!

I love 5X7. Please make more in the future.
5 x 7 products are my favorite, they can always fill their intended size and be cut down for an A2 or slimline, win, win!!!!💜💜💜💜

These ideas are great! I especially love the hummingbird…..it’s gorgeous! Thank you Jennifer, for the beautiful designs! 🥰

Haha very true. 😊
I prefer the 5 x 7 card and have been making those for so long, the traditional A2 seems so small.
Good Golly, Ms. Jennifer. I love all the companies you work with. These cards are so pretty. You have all these extras to make more cards! Impressed!
I make 5x7 cards more and more. Thanks for these tips.

The blue Thank You card is gorgeous!
I love the idea of using emboss design on the INSIDE of the card , brilliant ❣️
Thank you for showing how you added dark green to the leaves! I really like how you made the 5 x 7 card and then used the leftover stitching dies for another card. Thank you for the inspiration!
I always make bigger cards, very much appreciate this video

I have and love the piercing plate. Great look to layer over the fog cardstock. Makes the details pop!

Omgggeee how beautiful is that hummingbird ❤❤❤
Right?!
Thank you so much. Hugs for pushing us to new levels. ❤
I like #7 the best, but they are all lovely. Thanks, Sam.
So funny, I was going to ask her to do a 5x7 card because that is what I make. So talented. Be kind to one another. Stay safe. Love to all
Awesome ideas and gorgeous cards!

Very clever Jennifer! And I especially love what you did with the hummingbird!

Beautiful as always! Thank you for putting a smile on our faces!
I just got the punched die. Love what you did with it!
Thank you thank you thank you Jennifer! I am a 5x7 cardmaker and always feel left out when there's a pierced coverplate or the like. I wait and wait - I didn't know that 5x7 is not a standard for the craft companies, so I may be waiting forever!
Jen, this is yet ANOTHER GORGEOUS card example! Thank you so much!
How timely! I just pulled out some larger card blanks and was trying to do something ‘not boring’. Really excited to try these ideas! Thanks!!
Mind blown again, “stretching” a die! Genius !!!
Absolutely gorgeous!
What happened to Becca Feeken?
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Hope you're feeling OK. Thnx for the info!
This is awesome! Thank you for always inspiring me!
Thanks for sharing these awesome tips for using what you have to make 5x7 cards. I make a lot of that size to send to my local nursing home residents on their birthday so this video was super helpful!
What a fun idea! So many ideas going through my head now….thank you! ❤
I would love to stitch that Infinity die plate❤❤
I like 5x7 cards, however you do not get two cards out of 8.5x11 sheet of paper.
The one downfall of large cards. The odd sized scraps. But they really are fun to make. 😊
I have started using 12x18 card stock for my card bases. I get 2 5x7 bases and use the scraps for bookmarks or die cutting smaller pieces.
100%. That’s why A2 will always be my preferred size.
Just fold in half
Hello 👋 when I make my 5x7 cards, I keep the scrap pieces from that one 8.5x11 sheet. I use the scraps for layering die cuts, which come in handy when I'm out of double-sided foam tape. I'll even use the scrap pieces for swatches. 😊
That mix sentiments die is lovely …and it cost $110 USD to ship to Australia !!!!!!!!!!!!
Great ideas. Thank you for sharing 😊🤗
Great info!!! Thanks❤
What size/type of standard US cardstock does one buy to make 5 x7 bases? Biggest I have is 12x12.
8.8x11 or 12x12 will work but you will only get one card.
I’m torn because I feel like I waste paper making a 5x7 😩😩😩😩
