The amount of xenophobic athletes have to face in other sports are astounding. • @Wimpymind

while true, its also worth remembering that it isnt a level playing field in any drug-tested sport. Possibly least of all WL. The scrutiny athletes from different countries are under varies greatly by country. Its kinda hard to compare a danish weightlifter, who faces 2 years in prison for possession of any T, to a chinese lifter where the testing agency needs to apply for a visa to come check up, and he has his state apparatus behind him from the age of like 5 in support of every chemical and nonchemical need he might have.
While his achievements are great, its not reasonable to fetishize him to the degree some people do.

Everything will eventually come to an end. Let the youngsters take over. He had done enough. You can't expect him to maintain his performance going into his 40s.

The Chinese muscle delivering. Credit will be given where is due despite nationality, race, gender or belief. This man worked hard for his money. Of course, he deserves gold for the effort.
Lu XiaoJun pushed his effort with great success. Well deserved.

Paris is definitely going to be Lu's last olympic run since the 2028 olympics won't be hosting weightlifting due to doping. Nobody has claimed 4 gold medals in weightlifting alone yet. If Lu can do that he will be the most decorated weightlifter ever. He'll more than likely be passing his throne to Li Dayin.
