  • James Batton has been a landscape designer, consultant, and a professional arborist since the 70's. His immense knowledge is invaluable in facing the climate change that is occurring along the Wasatch Front (Great Basin). This program is dedicated to Utah (mainly the areas of Salt Lake City, Provo, Orem, Sandy, Draper, and South & West Jordon, etc...) Issues that are tackled are iron chlorosis, soil conditions, drought. James Batton offers hope to the pilgrims (new & old) that have settled on this ancient lake bed to make this desert bloom.

Great video. Interesting to hear you spent time at Oregon State. Did you know my Grandpa John Bell? He was in the forestry department there.

I'm so glad i found your channel. Most gardening channels seem to be in subtropical environments with soils that don't need much amending. Im excited to learn from you! I see you focus mostly on trees (which i need to learn). Do you know a good edible garden channel from Utah I can follow, too?

I have enjoyed this video. Especially since I live in Salt Lake and am starting a garden in my new home soon. Thank you.
