    He died in a nursing home in Florida meaning he must have been suffering with some form of dementia. You can sadly see the obvious that Tony couldn't hold up a mic and that Pete had to do it for him. At least they were able to get a good interview out of this and Pete saw that Tony didn't have the mental faculties like he used to have. Thank you Pete for handling a situation like this with love and care.

    Everyone is talking about how it's sad to see actors age. I understand, but also, aging is a natural part of being alive. If we're lucky, we get to live a long life and age. Instead of being sad that Tony Sirico isn't immortal, let's celebrate the fact that he's still here, giving us his time, telling jokes and being a consummate professional!       They are right about it being sad. It is sad. They feel for him losing his youth and vitality. And it forces them to reflect on their own eventual mortality. And you are right about it being part of life. The crappy part that we make our best efforts to minimize in our minds to find the happiness that is still around. But if we're lucky, we will remember the little things that were good.

    Paulie Walnuts taught me that germs migrate from the soles up and therefore we must constantly wash our hands and keep good hygiene and also avoid wet shoe laces...and Richie Aprile taught me that even small guys can have tremendous Moxie for there size and that until i give a girl my last name i should keep my hands in my pockets.

      I grabbed a super high quality download of the entire series when I bought my LG 4K OLED a few years back, and sat and rewatched the ENTIRE six series in a week.
      The older you get, the more you get out of them, the more you appreciate just how good the writing was.

    This man was pure gold. You clearly see that he had a big heart. This interview is really impressive. Even with his noticeable dementia there's more fire in his words than in most 20 year olds words. If he talks like this with this illness, you know that guy is as sharp as a razorblade

    Goes to show how timeless the Sopranos is. When we see how old these actors have gotten you realize how many years have passed. But the show is still fresh every time I rewatch the series.

      Every single scene in every single episode is done magnificently with so much care.
      When it came to the UK on Channel 4 I ignored it the first time due to thinking it was about opera singers. 🤦‍♂️
      Then when I watched it, it was like it came from a different planet when compared to UK TV shows. Can't believe it's been two decades.

      83rdox I never said that we age the same way. I meant that every human being in some way or form are deteriorating (physically, mentally, emotionally, etc.) I personally know someone who’s around my age (50s) with full blown dimentia; he hardly remembers his wife. On the flip side of the coin I have relatives in their 90s who are still razor sharp mentally, even though they are physically advanced in old age.

      Which is why older folks tell us younger folks to stop and smell the roses, live with kindness, and appreciate life for what it is because we all get old and we all die.     I’m glad to see Mr Sirico still has moments where he remembers his past, and it’s equally sad to see him struggle, but regardless make no mistake... that man played one of the greatest characters ever on television, and I would drive from Nashville to NY to help him do anything he needed (short of straightening a guy out.)

    I was lucky to meet Tony because his brother was my next door neighbor in Arizona. Tony came to visit and I had the pleasure of visiting with him for morning coffee (at the back fence) and taking him on a sightseeing trip to Usery. He was a great guy as was his entire family. RIP, Tony.

    He died yesterday. And reports say that he was suffering from dementia for a couple of years. About three or four comments down, you will see my statement from two years ago saying he looked like he had Alzheimer's disease.

    My favorite character next to Tony Soprano was Paulie Walnuts. I feel bad to see Tony Sirico declining. He has given us a lot of great works to remember him by. It will be a sad day when he's gone. He is such a good actor because he's lived the life he portrays.

    Two great scenes: Paulie says hello to Carmine at a wedding and slowly realizes Johnny Sack never mentioned him to Carmine and had been bullshitting him for years, goes in the restroom and looks in the mirror. Richie's scenes with Beansie. Beautifully acted; exceptional acting.

Just because his faculties aren't exactly the same, doesn't mean he doesn't have any dignity. I think the wardrobe folk could have loosely done his tie maybe, but the interviewer was very respectful and T. S. looked to be enjoying talking about his favourite role, which he probably doesn't get to do as much anymore

Short term memory is lost but Tony was remembering the long term stuff. I work with Alzheimer’s clients. It’s just kinda hard for families and loved ones. The long goodbye

    Getting old is just a part of life, but when you’re a kid and you see your favourite characters looking great on tv and then you see them years later looking a lot older, it’s kinda sad because you realise that some day sooner than later they won’t be here anymore.
    As a Sopranos fan, I’m not looking forward to the day we lose any more of these guys.

    Honestly, that was hard to watch. His handlers need to do better with his exposure at public events. There are other ways to honor him that dont rely on his memory or mental state. We can respect him by limiting the questions. He doesn't have to go down like this. We dont have to visually document his decline, which videos like this are doing.
