I'm showing this to my daughter. Well done. You're an awesome pillion 👍😁

The mistake I did in the beginning is that I turned my head which imbalanced the bike, so this also counts as movement (which I didn't realize then)
Also, when riding on a sports bike for the first time, don't hold onto the rider 😅

Some solid advice. I would love to take my nephew out on my bike but im too used to being a solo rider and still pretty new to riding, about almost 3 years now

Couple of tips I give new pillions:
    - Keep your shoulders in line with my shoulders
    - Use your knees to absorb the bumps, like 'sleeping policemen'
    - Look in the corner we are taking
And I start off slowly and try to get a feel of the pillion, is s/he tensed or relaxed? I adjust my riding to the level of comfort of my pilion.
Like you I urge them never to ride with a 'show off'.

I only once had the opportunity to ride with someone on a bike. He gave me pretty good advise I think and told me the following:
"You are a bag of potatos. This means you will not put a feet down when I stop, unless I tell you so, you will not wobble around and you will not lean into the corner too much. Always barely look over my inside shoulder. If you do that, you lean enough. It would be nice if you try not to bang your helmet against mine and if you have a problem, like we need to stop so you can adjust your balls or whatever, tap my leg twice."

Brilliant advice, you clearly know a lot of good riders to test as a pillion. Any advice on getting a good view? I see a lot of pillions looking at the back of the rider's helmet. Any tips?

I find it depends on the bike. Some place you really close to the rider, so you can't see much past their head or over their shoulder. Best bet is probably to look for views out to the left and right of the bike, but it can be hard to settle into a comfortable position. But that's the nice thing about being a pillion. You get to enjoy the ride without doing any of the riding :p

    Pillions stay still not stiff
    And don't lean please
    No leaning at all

Maybe it depends on the bike, but it's usually nice if the pillion goes with the flow of the lean. Still not stiff is a good way to put it

But you don't want the pillion to be acting against you when you are cornering, so maybe a little bit of leaning when you do?

I also leaned too much when my boyfriend said to lean with the bike, what helped me control it to lean with his body, especially in bigger curves I attach my body to his tight and this way I’m just moving as much as him. So I’m not really leaning on my own, just following the flow.

Yes, I only let my wife and children on my bike. Never ever do I let anyone else on my bikes.
