one thing i would add, the fpv community is like no other, we all learned from somebody else and we all are more than happy to help others, noobs are extremely welcome and no question is too simple. we've all experienced sitting alone trying to figure out why our quad isn't working, not even sure how to form a question. so if you go the full acro fpv path, just know that a whole army of people are ready to help. fpv is an incredible thing, don't be daunted by building or software or skill levels, we got your back.
I’ve been wanting to get into drones just now found out about these fpv drones…I want to do car scenes…real estate videos and some other side stuff
Would appreciate tips and which route I should take with drones
Fpv
Or I’m stuck on the dji mini 3 pro
@@dominickturks5955 the first thing is always try a simulator, even if you have to use a joypad its good to get some muscle memory going early. the throttle on an fpv quad is non centering so a joypad with auto centering sticks isnt ideal but still worth it. i would stress though the simulators are great but its quite difficult, you might especially want to try a sim called Tryp, its more movie orientated flying, the good news, the mini 3 can be flown in fpv mode with new goggles 2, not sure about the older goggles v2, however its best to have a proper fpv drone as a first drone, they are incredibly tough and will survive many crashes while you learn, i believe one of the dji radio controllers can be made to have the throttle stick arrangement i mentioned, ie free, non self centering, maybe they all do, its just a matter of loosening a screw to stop a spring pushing the stick to centre if you let go. so best path? normally the first advice is buy a radio, namely a radiomaster boxer, or tx16s, and then practise like crazy on a sim. then you will have an idea of exactly what kind of flying you want to do, if you are quite good straight away i would suggest, one of the ''ready to fly'' quads available, the geprc quads and the iflight quads are great, a little bit expensive, (the hd ones have a dji 03 camera which isnt cheap in itself) but you will be able to skip some classes and get flying sooner. but you should not be intimidated by building, it is not difficult, when things go to plan..... its easy, if theres a problem, troubleshooting can be a pain but there is lots of help, we all helped each other into this hobby, so we all pay that forward. there are a few types of quad to think about, cinewhoops, which are smaller lighter and slower and have guards around the props to fly near people and objects etc, most like a dji camera drone but still full fpv and manual control. then there is the classic 5inch freestyle quad, its super fast agile and tough, good for tricks and flying around obstacles etc, then there is 6 and 7inch which are more efficient and slightly less agile which are good for long range like flying in the mountains, you can also use a different kind of battery and get much longer flight times and fly maybe 7km away. i best stop here hehe, i fly 5inch only, but i do fly all of the styles above, slow through tree branches and i do a few tricks around trees and interesting places, and i also fly mountains, but its best to have the specialist drone for the job, i just like mixing the styles. for long range info, there is nobody better than falconrad fpv, his videos are epic. for cinewhoops i would suggest Rimzler, he does cinewhoop stuff but is a good all round fpv pilot, very helpful video reviews on small cinewhoop drones. for 5inch stuff, most people fly 5inch, i would suggest bubby fpv, he flys freestyle but with a cinematic edge, he is also an astonishingly talented pilot,
MY FRIEND I WANT TO MAKE CINEMATIC SHOTS WITH A FREESTYLE DRONE SO I CAN DO TRICKS, BEEN LOOK AT THE AVATA BUT CANT DO TRICKS, DO YOU KNOW THE KIT I CAN BUY FOR A BEGINNER
@@daesyk geprc and iflight make some great freestyle drones, but, a lot of cinematic shots, shots with people? a lot of shots would be better with a cinewhoop, a 3 or 4inch quad that can carry a gopro, toady there are cinewhoops you can do some freestyle with, geprc makes nice 3 and 3.5inch cinewhoops. flying a 5 inch fpv takes some time, lots and lots of crashes, sometimes damage and rebuilds. so its best to learn on a simulator, i suggest TRYP. this sim has a lot of cinematic flying. then you can decide what kind of drone you should buy, most fpv pilots have two drones, so if you crash, or damage one, you can keep flying. so its really good to budget for two, or buy one and start buying spare parts until you can build number two. you should look at the channel Rimzler, he tries all the cinewhoop quads.
@@TheMadmacs I'm trying to get into drones but every drone + google pair is like 300+ which seems ridiculous to me. Even the crappy drones that compromise on fidelity are like 100$. Why would I spend 100$ on JUST a controller + flight sim? At that point it feels like I should just find a different hobby. I guess my question is wattafak are these prices?
Great video again Peter! I've been following along for a while now and the drone series has been great. 👍 TBS Tango 2 pro just landed in the post so ready to start my fpv adventure! Thank you! Best, Simon - Norway
The advice to practice in the sim is spot on, the Avata advert less so.
Why? Im just trying to get started, could you explain?
Are they bad or something?
@@trulsmolin196 A cheap radio is ~$100, a simulator costs $20... Much cheaper entry into the hobby and to see if you'll enjoy it or not.
Finally! Been on the fence, just like you Pete but haven’t really taken the leap yet.
Guess I’ve been waiting for this video👍
God sommer ☀️
Great Video Peter.
Finally someone summarized "how to start with the FPV" process.
In a very easy language
Thx
👍🏼
So good video and good timing for me personally, you mapped up my coming step more clearly! 👌 Thanks!
That’s awesome to hear man!
Awesome video! One day, I will be ready to fly a drone! This was really helpful and educational! I didn't even know there were simulators out, definitely going to check that out! ✌️
👍🏼
Same here, no idea there was an FPV simulator out there, very informative.
This is a great video! Thank you Peter, have been following your channel for 3-4 years now, and I liked your advice on getting the dji FPV remote and try it with Lift off that you have showed in another past video. I do want to point out that, getting the DJI FPV remote itself will not work with Liftoff unless the remote has been binded with an actual drone to work with the simulator. I hope this is something that DJI can work with so that the Remote does not need to be binded with an actual drone right after the remote is bought (and dont have access to any drone to bind it with) to work with a simulator (unless this issue has been addressed already). Otherwise in my case, I am stuck with an FPV remote (with no simulation with Liftoff) until I can grab an Avata for myself to get started on my practice on a simulation. Just wanted to put it out there. Notheless love your drone videos, FCPX content and your motion vfx plguins! Thank you sir!
Great video. Been waiting for this one. Keep it up!
Beautiful content, as always Peter!
Awesome stuff. I have been practicing on liftoff and slowly saving up to buy myself a 5 inch drone.
Thank you so much all ways. Right now I started like you said in the Simulator :-) than I move like you said for the DJI avata thank you again
Awesome Video! I was contemplating what FPV drone to get, and I find this video!
I think the iflight protek35 also is a great beginner drone also with prop guards so you can fly close to things 😉
Very informative and condensed video. A lot of good points with no fluff. Perfect 😎😎😎
Great video like always 👌, I am thinking about FPV for so long. Maybe some day.
Stay positive, don let yourself burn out we need creator's like you. God bless yoy.
You are in one of the greatest places to have an FPV drone I swear
That's the practical and easy info I needed as beginner. I saw many other videos but was too complicated.
👍🏼
Thanks for the tipps man! Very usefull for a beginner!
I don’t know how I stumbled across this video because I have no interest in flying drones, but I sure did watch from beginning to end! This was very informative and well shot.
Thanks for sharing all these useful tips cheers from France
Nice video and well put together, thanks for taking the time to put this together :-)
Great video and very very helpful!! Good work I have liked and subscribed!!! 🍻
This is the video that I needed it to see!
Great video. It's surprisingly hard for fpv beginners to find the information you provided in this video.
Thanks for the advice. I got the mavic 2 pro been flying for 3 or 4 years. I think I'll take your advice and buy the avata instead of going to a custom drone Don't want to get too cocky. The FPV just looks like so much fun especially with the goggles.
Awesome video mate love the video ✅
hi peter, you got me inspired to learn fpv after i stumbled on your instagram FPV stories and seeing your progress! mind sharing your simulator rates for someone starting out in liftoff?
Great video! Thank you!
First time here and I am very thankful that I did.
I'm very interested in getting into the FPV portion of drone flight, I have a DJI mini 2 and although intriguing and fun it just doesn't what I'm looking for.
I highly thank you for baby stepping me into the FPV genre'
Instant subscriber 👍
Thanks again and I'm looking forward to seeing future videos from you.

Information overload...this drone thing is crazy wow...
When it comes to drones…….this guy goes on and on😊
That opening shot 🔥🔥
I wish you a lot of inspiration and success 👍 and I love your content👍👌
Excellent video, MARK5 is also my favorite. I lost one MARK5 with gopro 11 mini on the most beautiful island in Thailand... Now i have a new one ))) In the next video please check the frame rate on FPV flights because you have strab... you can use the auto frame in editing. Have a good flights
Hey man thanks a lot for your content. The rates you have in the description works for both nazgul and mark5? And are them for cinematic? Thanks a lot!
That was great, thanks
Bro! Nice information you're the GOAT! I've a question, do you always shoot 120fps with the GoPro 11 for FPV?
Uh, i like the combo black with green props.
Also nice and interesting content, thanks
Quick story: I first started my channel with the Sony a6400 and it was a great camera! The one thing it taught me was to get better with the limitations that Camera had such as the stabilization/color, profiles, etc. when I finally moved up to an upgraded camera that didn’t have those limitations I noticed that having the stabilization and more options with color grading, weren’t as needed as I originally thought, but me to eventually focus on other aspects of filmmaking, because I had gotten good at holding a camera still, and color, grading the standard profiles from the a6400. Basically get good at the limitations that your camera has first and then eventually move into something that would be considered an upgrade once you need it. a lot of people actually thought I was using a better camera than I was because I had gotten good with the original camera.
Great video again, just wondering what your handle is on Lift Off. I purchased a bind and fly Skyliner mark 3 from Rotor Riot in November of 22 spent all winter on lift off, flew my drone for real in March 2023 and agree with you it was seamless . Yes slow rates make it easier to fly cinematic..
Awesome Advice!!!
Hello my FPV-bro! Thumb up for Nazgul - I have one too. Love it!
Just the video I needed! Thanks! Where did you get yours in Sweden?
your too fancy peter! Some of us be living that poor life. I went to DJI Smashed 5k worth of air units then taught myself autocad to design a drone I love but now am back to analog, Racing this summer hopefully makes me better but you would love all the fun little whoop stuff you can do. like joining international game of whoops. right now its free just starting and this forth season has about 1000 pilots, would be awesome to see you there!
Amazing to see you in FPV world. Pure inspiration 💪
This video is awesome
Very informative video.
Nice video !
Thank you!!!
Tack Peter great video as always. I have a dji Mavis Mini, it’s old I know. It’s fun but the range is bad imo. Here in Gothenburg in town I get 2-300m range and then I lose connection. On an island like Branno I get 6-700m but I was expecting a lot more. Now hesitating between a mini 4 and the Avata. Avata seems to be so much fun. But flying for longer with the mini 4 is appealing. I should buy both right?
Great video with helpful information! For the GEPRC MK5, would you recommend the 4S or 6S? Are there major differences between the two power options? Thanks.
do you know by now?
what a great video for Beginners..
if we start with Avata and spend time practicing on it then we shell go to DJI FPV or directly to what do you recommand of 5'' fpv ?
I have a 3d printer so I was thinking of doing something custom for my first "real" fpv. But I was also looking at the BetaFPV cetus. Which would be better (I am using LiftOff sim to learn Acro, but rn I use horizon mode) for me to learn fpv?
Video ended very good! Positive 😂
Great video! 👍🏼
I‘m thinking of getting a Mark5 O3 6S drone. Do you know how far you can fly with the drone and come back? I know it depends on a lot of facts and also the battery but what is your experience!
Thank you very much! 😊
Love the FPV content, keep it up man! 👏🔥
Peter thank You so much for that Great Video 📹... im sold out on the DJI Avata but i need your Advice, please... fo you think that getting into the Business of Drone World is a Racing Drone the best way to go to get more flying skills ? Please... FYI i already possess the DJI P4P and the Mavic 2 Zoom ... just got my 3 CASA Licences last December 2022
Learning on a woop is kinda hard but dang the tniyhawks are fun haven't flown mine that much but have several hours sim time.
Awesome video Peter, hey I have a really good question lol maybe because I just started to learn more about FPV here is my question: can I use my DJI RC -2 with the mark 5 I’m think about buy it. Also I ready get the dji goggles 2
👍🏼
Yeah I was super surprised how unlike any other flight simulators acro Sims were. It's super difficult but super fun
Nice videos my friend. Just find your channel a few days ago. The links you have on the descrition of the video to buy those FPV drones are outside Europe? Do we have to pay taxes when buying from this websites? Thanks for you videos and keep up the good work. Cheers from Portugal
Looks interesting I would like to get into the whole drone thing but it’s an investment for sure
Goo:D
Thank 👍👍👍👍
very good video👍
Just found myself here for the first time and above everything I am most amazed by the fact that I have the same last name as you! Lol
loved your video, I liked the way you explained it but where did you buy the built fpv drones
Link in the description
Brilliant Peter Love it thank you I always enjoy your videos ❤
Need to get into FPV. However, first I need to upgrade my computer. Drones will be my next journey though.
How did you program the analog controller? I spent over a month trying to set up one and gave up. I just stick with dji for everything transmitter, wise
thx man so helpful but those are expensive
I'm gonna go run your rates on lift off see how it works all mine are super high probably help me a ton appreciate that
Nice video,I need your help is Elsr 24t 2.4Gh receiver compatible with Flysky Fsi4 transmitter
I’m in that point of transition after the avata, very expensive but also very convenience specially for beginners
You still wont regret geprc mark 5, its a beast!!! And very easy to fly
@@hombredelfuturo_888 i honestly prefer the Nazgul Evoque i think it is better after i flew it.
How did you find the flying rates to be? Can you get smooth shots in acro mode? Asking because planing to get an fpv drone for small comercial use and deciding if it's a good option or should go straight to custom ones. Regards,
Can confirm the Avata is built like a little tank. I’ve crashed it about 40 times so far 😂
can you do a beta flight video with the mark 5 please ?
Thanks, i was looking for exactly your video. My Avat is limiting me😂😂
P.S : Which Software can you advise me to practice flying for my Mavic 2 Zoom and P4P ? Please
Is the drl sim a good sim to be practicing on ? I started learning on that and I’m worried when I decide to ever get a real drone , it’s gonna be nothing like the sim
I love the idea of both doing flips and tricks, but i am hesitant to buy/build a small freestyle drone because i also want to be able to go long ranges and film things like big drops etc. if i want to be able to do both, should i opt for a freestyle drone and use it for cinematic shots aswell, or vise versa. Thanks!
I WANNA KNOW THE SAME
all i dream to have drone like this
What drone did you use in the Liftoff Simulator ??? pls or what do recommend? 😉
Thanks!
Now I definitely know that I should not go for an FPV drone... It's far too many things to adjust etc. I think it's enough to update my ordinary sony camera and my small DJI drone... ;-)
/ Matti in Jokkmokk
Hi, i would know, whats the receiver for universal drone?
Beställt en AVATA och är så taggad på att börja lära mig köra lite FPV! :D
Så sjukt rolig resa framför dig 🤌🏼🤌🏼
hey I have been flying the avata in full fpv mode for a while now, and I've just got the geprc mark 5 drone. should I stick to the rates on it which it come pre loaded 70/ 600 and /o or hit peter rate as am looking for just cinematic flying nothing to crazy? help need thanks
I had a similar journey but you're absolutely right about spending time in the simulator. I have had a great experience with the DJI FPV drone before I eventually got "real" fpv drones but the only reason for that is I spend about 200 hours in the sim before I flew in acro mode for the first time and by that time it felt completely natural.
Imo people should spend way more time in the sim to train and maintain those reflexes.
Hi, do you think that the dji avata is a good option to get smooth shots or did you find the rates to be limiting after gettin good in the simulator?
Looking to get my first fpv and deciding innthe best option to get good in the long term.
What power and recover options should be pick for the gepric Mk 5 ?
Hello, do you have any idea if it works with the dji mini 2 controller?
Hi Peter, what is your opinion the GEPRC MK5D-LR7 HD O3 Long Range FPV vs. GEPRC MARK5 HD O3 Freestyle FPV Drone/Green?
great video, gives me a lot to think about.
on a side note, why don't they use these for search and rescue?
the field of view provided, combined with the speed, would really work wonders when you have to cover a lot of ground.
Super hard to stop and look around. Also non adjustable camera!
is it recommened before even buying a drone, to buy the controller and play with it in a simulator?
what i dont understand is how to pair everything up. can you buy any headset and connect it?
I love FPV drones and recently started flying myself but got some weird motion jitters in the gopro hero 11, I have tried so many things
but nothing seems to work. If you have any tips that may work to fix this problem please let me know. Thanks in advance!
The settings are:
Resolution: 5.3k 25fps at 8:7
Lens: Wide
HyperSmooth: on (tried off aswell)
10bit: On
Bit-rate: High
Shutter 1/50
ISO Min: 100
ISO Max: 100
WB: 5500k
Color: Flat
Sharpness: low
Using Gyroflow to stabilize the footage after it has been shot, which works awesome. Just the jitters that ruins the whole image. I also record with a ND filter for good exposure and the gopro is mounted with a TPU mount. (also its not my flying skills since my friend has lots of experienced and still gets the same problems.)
Use Reelsteady! It works great for me!
Try to use 1/100 shutter. You'll get a little bit less motion blur, but the stabilization will work much better
@@PeterLindgren1 I'll try that once I got some extra money to spend, thanks!
@@mariuszwisniewski6607 Thanks, will try this next shoot.
Go into blheli and put pwm low and high to 48 khz (if you dont know what blheli is.. enjoy the rabbithole)
I am currently starting my FPV journey with Cetus X Pro. It's really hard to get that control on full acro mode. :(
If you want to learn fpv you should buy a cheap 1s/2s RTF kit like tiny hawk 2 or something similar. You can crash them, they have cheap replacement parts, cheap batteries, indoor flight too. They are imo the cheapest and fastest way to learn the basics without spending money and wasting time.
Would you recommand something specific to enhance range with DJI avata? How did you fly in the canyon without loosing connexion?
The signal bounces well between rocks 💪🏼
I've been flying 10/12 and FPV for 1 month over 50 hours on lift off Sim and a few hours in the air and getting the hang of it I rock flywhoop 2.5 and cine30 nothing like FPV
hey and what do u think about CineWoops?
