As a total Newb I really appreciate this video! It stopped me from thinking I have to go ALL OUT and buy the whole enchilada - so NOW I know I can start with a controller and sim to start - PERFECT!!! I also know when it becomes time to move I will be building my drone (thankx again!) so I know how to fix it (I am kind of hard on thing, so yeah), will want digital goggles and will get a Cinewwhoops to start! This answered SO MANY Qs I had about how to start that I will actually be able to take the first step today!!! You are awesome!
Mate , bloody awesome to hear at that age your still smashing it I am 38 im only new to this but its good to hear this is a hobby that can keep us all going into our older years :) Shred it brother cheers from australia
@@SpaghettiFPV-tg3qh My back is bad, my hips don't work. But, as soon as I put my goggles on - look out, the old man is going to rip some s#&t! I do some long rang too. FPV is freedom for me. Remember, it's all about the gap!
@@KaiVertigoh I'm think I might get the radiomaster zorro but I still don't know if I should get the elrs or the 4in1 version. Can you tell me what you would get(by the way this will be my first radio)
When an introductory video has no "Buy either this product, this or that one" and instead offers insides and understanding of different parameters, than I know it's good introductory video :D thanks
Availability is another big factor. It’s now early January when I ordered my dji goggles 2 radio transmitter back in November with the hopes I’d be able to discover FPV over the Christmas break
It’s just bizzare thinking about how I’m watching video this as a hobby while dudes half a globe away are probably watching to fly a warhead into other dudes
Great video. Best thing I ever did when I first started was bought a second hand 5” didn’t fly it properly for the first year, only did sim. Then gradually would practice. I also think building your own will help in the long run as if somthing is too fail you should be able too work it out as you’ve built it yourself. Love the video man
Thank you so much! That was the most detailed video I've seen for beginners. I'm starting to study FPV drones, focusing on learning how to build one on my own. I thought it would be cheaper, but I understand the materials like motors and the main board have good quality, and the goggles and remote controller last for years. I loved your comment about learning how to fix the drone. I think that is the key to spending less money on it because the drone will break a lot of times (it's inevitable) and you will save a lot of money fixing it on your own.
Most definitely Matheus! I am happy that the video was helpful. There are definitely more cost-efficient ways to start, but you really do get what you pay for when it comes to FPV. And you're right, learning to fix your drones when they crash WILL save you a good amount of money in the long run, if you are up to the challenge!
Thank you for this amazing video! Just barely getting my feet wet in the FPV world and it seems like theres an overwhelming amount of information out there. Not only does this information give a non-intimidating and straightforward approach, it also cuts straight to the point and doesn't overload me. Thank you 👊🏽
I am so glad I found your video! I’ve been wanting to get into this for so long, I still fly a phantom 3 but want to get into fpv and didn’t know where to start so thank you I’ll start here!
I’m in my late 40’s and was skeptical about drone flying in general, after your video… I am hooked! Thanks to your video, I will be ordering a controller and getting a simulator today - Thank you!
For a newbie like myself, I found your video to be a great starting tool. I took notes, step by step and even typed out your Diligent Practice & Patient Progress, printed it and put it up in my shop. Thanks again for your wisdom.
I subscribed. I'm just an old school RC car & truck guy. More and more I want a decent drone with a decent camera and decent speed and battery life. If only to scout areas to play and bash my RC cars and trucks, but also to record them, and have that footage to be able to optimize the vehicles, and see what went wrong, and where. As with all things RC, you will break things. Soldering is a must. Understanding ESC's and motors, their sizes and kV rating... Batteries and sizes, mAh ratings, and discharge rates... These will definitely increase your enjoyment of the hobby, or at least, it certainly did for me. Eager to watching more of your videos, glad I found this channel. Keep up the great work, I'm eager to get started with a drone in 2025!
Thank You Kai! thats a lot of info in a short video it kept my full attention through the whole vid. I'm gonna have to rewatch and take some notes. I've been flying mid level camera drones for about a year and have just started looking into FPVs. Newly retired and love to tinker, build and solder, cant wait to get started!
You're most welcome Roy! Congratulations on retiring, the world of FPV will keep you plenty busy and excited! Hope to see you around more, best of luck
Thanks so much! I think alot of beginners have trouble having the right mindset and sight to see the overview of getting into the world of FPV. Your video was really warm, gentle and welcoming for the lot of us who are absolute beginners. Great job!
100% agree with you bro, build your first fpv is the best option, I just finished my first fpv drone build with a digital set up and it was a very fun process
This video followed by Joshua Bardwell's learn to fly an fpv drone today should be combined into a master class! This is the video i needed a month ago when trying to make sense of the decision and pain points in this hobby / profession. cheers!
I haven’t read any of the comments yet but I’m sure there’s a lot which will be identical to this one. One thing I found when starting fpv was how vital it is learning how to land as it’s something that is obviously lacking from the simulator process. I’m quite confident with flying now, but learning how to land back on a landing pad is proving difficult. I’m just disarming my quad when it’s in my general location and then walking a couple meters or whatever to collect it. And learning about lipos and voltage etc is really important as well. I learned acro via the Avata and Dji Fpv, and recently upgraded to a Bob57 03 with crossfire, and am considering getting either the cinelog 35 v2, or cinebot 30.
thinking of getting into drone for my amateur videography then I came across your video, its an eyes opener for me. I think FPV is way more interesting than just regular drone. Hopefully I can learn something from you and start building my first drone . thank you and Subscribed.
Ive been running a property photography since the pandemic and boy did a simple $800 360 cam bring in so much profit customers always want an edge I’d imagine drone profits
Just wow. I'm getting more and more interested in FPV drones and going to try them myself (i'm a big fan of fast paced race games). If only they could put some sort of guns on these things (harmless for everyone and everything but other drones)... )) Thanks a lot, Kai, your video is amazing, clear and the best on the topic i've seen so far )

I am looking at a Newbee Stinger as a second FPV drone. After I see how much I like flying, I will build my own. Seems like the most rational progression. I am staying under 250g (to avoid licensing, tracking etc) and avoiding DJI concerned about the ban and parts in the future. I have an Autel Nano+. I am also 71 and don't mind a learning curve. ;)

Great vid! New sub here. I started on Crossfire, FatShark Attitude V6 goggles, and of course a Tango 2 (first and only transmitter I'll ever buy/need). Was against digital for a long time and finally took the leap. Got Walksnail Avatar V2, upgraded my fleet and I could def NEVER go back. Night and day difference. I'd definitely recommend going digital to any new pilot instead of going analog. It's come a long way and I average just 25mbps at 1080p. Keep up the good work! 👊

Excellent vid ! wasn't what l was looking for , but you made it so interesting ...l watched it anyway :^ ) l slowly spent thousands trying for Stable FPV , 5-10 min. time , ...UNDER $100 ...finally did .... could've been EZ ...but found no info on Ytube to help...frustrating "learning-curve" ....a WT03 Micro FPV cam on a Snappytain SP350 and th' "cheap-o" goggles works very well most anywhere 60'+ inside or out !!!! even better , stickitt on a xk 129v2 heli and get 200+ range & 8.5+min. ...still under $150 ! Happy Flying !!!
Absolutely amazing video. Thank you so much. I actually have an FPV set and took me 2 years to first fly it because I needed actual research. Sellers just sold me the cinewhoop and told me which controller and goggles (DJIv2) to buy lol

Excellent video! Good information. I am a beginner, so your video was a good starting point for me.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching 😁
Just what i was looking for in 2023 thanks!
So as my first transmitter (other than a phantom 3 that I have) you would recommend I get a tango 2? Thanks
My controller arrives tomorrow, can't wait.
dude YT recommended me your video and now I am about to buy FPV drone. Its your fault you got me to spend my savings haha
😂 I would say I am sorry... but I definitely believe it will be worth your investment. Have fun, and I hope the videos help!
@@KaiVertigoh thanks for the good video! Keep it up
Bro I've been flying drones for awhile now( about 5 years) I want to get into I've had a bunch of dji drones and a few others. I am trying to get into building and flying fpv's. Super intrigued. Great job on the video. I would love to pick your brain on some things start blessed
Thank you so much for watching!!
Great explanation video!! This is what I needed to see!

I'm super happy to hear! Thank you Harshil
Damn son!! 👻🔥👻 matrix level Sh!t.....dope flying bro!!! 😎🫡
Absolutely amazing video. Thank you so much. I actually have an FPV set and took me 2 years to first fly it because I needed actual research. Sellers just sold me the cinewhoop and told me which controller and goggles (DJIv2) to buy lol
