problem is the emperor isnt just keeping the spacetravel lighthouse burning, hes also keeping the webway gate closed
so if he dies terra would vanish into a new eye of terror long before his respawn timer ticks to 0
and the void dragon thats imprisoned on mars would be free

Didn't she just recently get into it? Not throwing shade. I only recently took the dive in two years ago, and I remember seeing the Berserk VHS arriving on shelves at the SunCoast movie store in my mall back in 1998.

billions feels like an exaggeration. millions is a better number (hah) and its still already big. Our endless war against everybody needs to be endless somehow (sustainable). And yet we get stories where we follow plucky normal humans who survive crazy situations regardless.
In general, the imperial guard dies in the millions. But it also depends on the engagement because sometimes, a handful of regiments (in the tens of thousands) is sent to slow the advance of forces in the millions due to shoddy bureaucracy
The humans pop is in the hundreds of Trillions and have several active war fronts and several thousand worlds under attack by superior armed forces, so losing 1-3 billion/day is totally viable.
Not even talking about planetary populations just going dark from mass genocides, sold into enslavement, suns going nova or they simply disappear (cause reasons).
Now throw in the fact of no FTL communications and years to decades of reaction delays..
Average lifespan for Guardsmen on the battlefield: 24. Hours.
Still... we shall fight for the Imperium of Men!

@@MrWongCxwell, in fact, it IS an exaggeration. If I remember correctly there are various statements about this, the most "positive" one, being 37 millions (or so) per day, and the most "negative" says that 200+ millions, as 3 or 4 regiments are destroyed every day.
When biboo realizes this, and that those millions are mostly cannon fodder, who die because of the "nasty meat grinding tactics", then, she'll know that a thousand psychics per day are almost nothing. Besides, the emperor is doing way more than only making available the space travel, like, holding the chaos gods in the warp at bay is his doing too.

@@ThaSandwitchThe Eldar has their webway, the Orks also travel by going through the warp I think and the Tyranids (well they have a hive ship which can travel faster at the speed of light somehow) and Tau don't have warp travel as far as I'm aware.
Necrons probably have some technology that allowd them to travel without warp stuff.

It will be funny one Beeboo realizes that 1000 psykers a day is just a drop in a bucket compared to how bad it would be without the Big E
Yeah nust saying "but then they wouldn't have warp travel" isn't enough.
Literally every human would would be taken over by chaos or tyranids, etc, in about a month.
A thousand psykers a day for 10 000 years is still only in the low billions. You can probably find individual hive cities with populations greater than that. A single hive world falling to a Xenos invasion could probably result in a death toll a hundred times that. Kryptmann probably killed thousands or tens of thousands of times that number just to slightly inconvenience hive fleet Leviathan.
Nah he’s a perpetual he’d be back it would be wild ride for couple centuries but it would work out far better than the current situation. The lion, robot, Vulkan (also a perpetual and just bring him back already), and the wolf guy once they yell enough insults at his slumbering body, can hold the fort for a min anyways.

@@blanetamez532 The imperium is already slowly falling to pieces, the emperor would came back, but it would take time, and by then is very likely the imperium would have shattered to an unrecoverable level, also Terra would be utterly destroyed by a mix of the failsafes Emps used Vulkan to make or the webway breach causing a enormous warp rift
For someone who's so new to the lore, Calli's explanation was actually pretty good.
They did actually try having another guy in the Throne for a bit. When the Emperor left to fight Horus, his regent sat in the throne for a while. He was probably the second most powerful human psycher ever after the Emperor, and he could only stand a few hours on the throne before it nearly killed him.
The Emperor is, indeed, special.

I’m pretty sure she worked as a teacher in Japan so breaking info down in an understandable way would be a good skill to have.
Yeah and Malcador was so strong he could fuck up the Primarchs if he needed to, really shows how off the scale powerful the Emperor is when he can stay on the throne for 10k years when just a few hours literally disintegrated the second most powerful psyker.
i think the only one with enough power to replace the emperor and maybe not die like malcador would be magnus, unless a stronger psycher is born someday

almost, it was missing 2 real reasons why the emperor cannot leave his seat:
1- Magnus Folly.
2- without astropath to travel they cannot send reinforcements and fight agains all enemies of the imperium.
without these it made biboo think they keep the old man alive just for convenience of warp travel to go shopping here and there, which is not true, until a solution is found, without him humanity dead for sure and chaos win

6. Necrons = ancient old as old but highly highly advance tech skeleton robots
7. Tyranids = the most animal like aliens that eats many and are many
And lastly 8. Chaos = 4 main are
Blue = knowledge, trollism, and deception obsession
Purple = pleasure and excess obsession
Green = Rot, decay, and disease obsession
And Red = Violence and slaughter obsession

Especially The DKK and the Castigation of Derondis, shelling the primary hive city for 10 years, continuing for 5 years after their unconditional surrender and 2 years after all signs of life from the city had ceased.
God I love 40K lore
150,000 people die every day on Earth and we have a global population of 8 billion. Considering the fact that an average hive city alone has roughly 10 to 100 billion people and a hive world can have up to several trillions. I'm pretty sure Holy Terra alone can meet the number of psykers needed for feeding the Emperor. Biboo has yet to comprehend the truly insane scale of resources of 40k and just truly how expendable people are in such a grimdark universe.
Psykers (on average) are one per billion, so you need a bit of population base to support it, but rookie numbers still. Terra itself probably produces enough psykers to sacrifice.

biboo kinda caught the core paradox in the existance of the emperium there. The emperium need to progress while under the protection of the emperor so that eventually it can move past that, yet the cost of sustaining the emperor is hindering this critical progression. The emperium is in a state of stagnation after all, and it's a problem.
Nah maintaining the Emperor is hardly a problem compared to the titanic centralised bureaucracy, the rebellions within, the invasions without, and the fact that all major technology is serviced by cultists that barely know what they're doing and consider innovation to be heresy.
The main problem is that the Emperor is the reason humanity made it even remotely this far out into the galaxy. Without him, all we can really hope to do is hold on. From here on out, humanity is doomed to stagnation no matter what.
In the 41st millenium, the Imperium of Man faces a crossroad. Keep humanity united around the Emperor and reject the promise of progress... or shut down the Astronomicon and move on into a new age of humanity.
An age of a shattered Imperium, isolated on countless worlds across the galaxy. So that the smoldering fragments of what once was can stand unbound, and look to the stars once again.
The problem is that regardless the Imperium is literally fighting a total war in all directions. and while the emperor was around he could somewhat manage it and its why they got as far as they did but since then its largely been run by humans. your local representative likely can't even remember every issue in your electorate on earth today irl, now expound that to a small council of maybe a dozen men with maybe a few hundred more underneath them, trying to direct a million worlds in any meaningful way. even when they want to they cant really, the distances are just too abstract. The imperium does okay delegating its efforts to local planetary governments and sector commanders and occasionally organising on the sector level for a crusade, but whatever gains they make break down or are lost from opening themselves up to attacks elsewhere.
Actually, 1000 psykers a day is nothing for the Imperium's population. It is not really hindering nothing at all. The only difficulty was finding and moving them, but the Imperium already got that figured out down to a science.
The problem is that the golden throne becomes less and less efficient as time passes because there is nobody to truly fix it and it has wear and tear, so keeping him alive forever is not sustainable and they still have no alternative to the Emperor both to stop the demon hordes in the warp hole under Terra and to focus the Astronomican.
Nah the problem is the Administratum, the constant wars, and the fact that all important technology can only be maintained by cultists that barely know what they're doing and who consider innovation to be heresy.

Things that weren't explained/fully explained;
The way they get Psykers to the Emperor is via special groups called Black Ships. When a new Psyker is found then local Arbites, who are Imperium Police, Astropaths, who are Sanctioned Psykers, and Guardsmen will contain them long enough for Sisters of Silence, direct bodyguards and servants of the Emperor who are immune to Psyker powers, to come and pick them up.
They're then taken back to Terra where they can be either sacrificed for the Emperor, turned into new Astropaths or various other roles like Inquisitors.
If they were left alone then it's dangerous as their souls aren't protected very well and demons will likely turn them into a living portal so they can attack that world.
The Emperor is not just keeping space travel going but he's also keeping a demonic rift on Terra closed, if he died then a fail safe would trigger destroying the planet, and he wouldn't be empowered to help send miracles like living saints, the Legion of the Damned, and more to help people. No one else except Magnus can use the Throne without dying but he turned that down multiple times.

Only shame is that Rogue Trader is just too big of game to be streamed in engaging for audience way. So we at best about to see First Space Marine and Boltgun, Mechanicus if we lucky(probably not).

Baldur's Gate 3 is a CRPG, yet it managed to stream quite well.
I mean Adeptus Mechanicus has a game! It's about my people, the Martians! The Hive Queen, Matara, has played it. Also BOLTGUN! Omnissiah, I love that game!
Also co-op there is SPACE HULK Deathwing ENHANCED for a good casual romp. Why isn't this on the SWITCH!?
ROGUE TRADER I heard is good but I haven't played it yet so I can't say! I think the Hive Queen has played it!
@@StrikeNoir105E I love rogue trader more than BG3 but I must admit that BG3 is more streamable than rogue trader (mainly because of the interactions between characters seems like more cinematics and nearly everything is fully voiced (which would have been nearly impossible to do without adding years before the release))
The TTRPG books usually have pretty decent starter adventures. The one in at the back of the Dark Heresy 2e book has you (SPOILERS if you care) investigating a series of murders and suicides connected to a black market in Xenos and heretical artifacts in the upper noble part of a hive city and gradually going down hive to follow a lead, coming into contact with Gangers and smugglers and then eventually having a climax chasing/being chased by a daemonhost while a dark mechanicus tech priest is also searching for the same daemonhost. It all works pretty much in the span of maybe 1 or 2 sessions and acts as a jumping off point for more while introducing key concepts to people who probably aren't familiar with the setting (it shows how stratified things are in society with the contrast between nobles and underhivers. introduces chaos and the mechanicus)

She left out the part where you can also become a soul for the Emperor and all you have to do is buy a whole set of figures because the moment you see the price you're soul leaves your body
