Unboxing and Riding my New Bike! - The First 22" Trials Bike In The World
- It's new bike day!
Inspired have a new bike in their lineup, and it's the first 22 inch trials bike in the world - the Flow 22. Since I've been looking for a smaller bike than my Fourplay for quite some time, it was a no brainer for me to try this one, and thanks to Tartybikes I was able to get one as soon as it released.
After I had built it up, I first tested the stock combo you can buy out of the box, and then I put on my more high end parts like high-rise bars and four-piston brakes. To make a full review, I need to spend more time riding it, but I can already tell you it's the best street trials bike I've had so far.

The Tartybikes discount code has expired now. There'll be more in the future, though :)
TheUselessTrials verkaufst du dein altes bike
I was riding a 20” rear, front 22” wheel BMX in 1976. Graco MX1000. At 54 I’m now on a S&M ATF 22”.
Where did you get a 22" front wheel in 1976?
I rode a bmx bike in 1982 now I’m 56 years old and just purchased the inspired flow 22’ from tartybikes. I’m also not very tall at 5’3 so this bike should fit me perfectly. Can’t wait to receive my new bike here in the U.S. and ride like I was 16 again.
I love how people look for you when you make those techniques and they ask themselves how is that possible
that bike looks like if Danny MacAskill's bike was on steroids
Hey Max, that bike looks sweet! I look forward to seeing you ride it!
Me too, haha.
Glad you ride this bike ive been watching a lot of your videos and was wanting a trials bike and being 165cm 24 was just too big only found they make a 22 the other day so now im saving up for it good to see someone I enjoy watching loving the bike makes me more confident to spend all that money
Now that's a trials bike I'd probably really like..... The BMX and trials baby is a freak and I love it, especially since I'm a BMX rider at heart.
Inspirierendes Video.
really good grippy plastic pedals are V6. It's supposed to be like the V12 but plastic. It's insane how much grip they have and the concave is super comfy. I recommend them to everyone. Really cheap too, so not even a worry if you wear it out or break it.
I'm not into street, but this one looks sick 😍 congratulations!
Great content!! Currently i'm riding 24" & looking for 22"
I just bought one with that code , i have to say , its actually a very good Bike for beginners and also for pros !👍 thanks for the Video Useless 👍
I really like it! I think I'd like it more with 20" wheel (but that's because I ride bmx). Line between street trial and bmx is getting thinner this days, bmx brakes are coming back and guys are starting to do more fufanus again, fun times! I enjoy your movies and you gave me motivation to learn that bunnyhop barspin, so can't wait for spring, cheers!
This vid makes me want to break out my old Planet X Tibo. Need a new rear wheel though.
Grats on the new ride man.. looks awesome! Greetings from Sweden
Greetings from Germany ✌
Good for you man! It looks like a sweet ride!! Happy 2020 and Ride On :-)
Wow, cool, actually wanted to do this myself a while back
Nice bike 😋
We all know tarty is the best site to buy a trials bike
Love watching your videos! I find the instructional ones the best I have seen. I have to admit I am more interested in learning and doing tricks than just riding now. So much so that I am thinking f selling my dual sus bike and buying a hard tail or even a trials bike like this. But in the mean time I will still be riding trails and these skills are very handy. Do you have a video on endos/stoppies? Great for sharp switchbacks I am told.
Just I just have 1 question, how to do a bunny hop?
Please do a tutorial for the bunny hop
For beginners it’s best to bring your chest to the bars to get a good pop and pull up and then just bend your legs upwards all in one fast motion good luck
Huh. 22 BMX are becoming a little mor epopular too. Was looking at them before i got my 24. And getting a 24 bmx to spin is hard.
Сant wait for the bunny hop video
5:10 That hurts
Not sure I would ever get an answer but still...
Can someone give an idea how to find that chain tensioners as at 1:20?
Nice video, exactly what I'm looking for, because I'm just 165 and a 180 on my 26`` dirt jumper need some energy ;)
Do you have also some experience with the trail on a pumptrack session?
Thanks for this review/comparison. About to grab this bad boy and was torn between this or the czar 24" but at my height of 1.54m this the best bet for progression from beginner onwards...just have to wait until i get back from holiday now :). Also where did you get your seat from? Thanks
I got it from a BMX shop. It's an Odyssey Monogram seat. :)
@@TheUselessTrials great thanks - will defo look to upgrade my seat too as soon as i get my bike
Hi, I'm thinking of getting one of these. I am 1.69, which stem and handlebar would you recommend me? Thanks!
I ride Inspired High Rise bars and a 110 mm 30° stem at the moment.
May i ask you how tall are you ?
Hi Ive bought my first trials bike (Echo Mark III 24inch - was a very good price and great condition on a used one). I am racing Enduros on dirtbike, so I started with Moto trials and I also bought a trials bike for training at home in the neighborhood (not to piss off neighbors). Is there a specific setup of the bike for the beginners? I feel the bars are way to forward (very ackward feeling for me)
Your bike is a competition-style bike, and therefore made to be good for trials riding and nothing else. That makes them feel awkward if you're not used to it.
Street-trials bikes feel far more normal, but if you want, you should be able to make yours feel a bit more normal as well by adding higher handlebars and maybe a shorter stem (depends on what's on there now). More bar height should make you feel less leaned forward.
Other than that, you'll just have to get used to it. The geometry of the bike will make more sense when on the rear wheel than on two wheels.
Enjoy your new toy!
@@TheUselessTrials Thanks mate...really helpful. Yeah the stem is Echo TR 150 x 30. I will watch some of your vids to figure out how to get started:)...
So the only reason you went for 22" wheels was because of your height?
I'm 180cm tall so would a 24" wheel bike be a better option or even a 26"?
Thank you.
From where did aou get the Sticker ??????
I make them myself :)
@@TheUselessTrials do you use a vinyl cutting machine for the decals? i've tried to find a few videos about how to make them but the hand made ones always feel a bit sketchy, your ones look amazing! :c i'm getting the same bike but in 24" and i'm not a fan of yellow on black so I want to put a nice design on as well :)
Those cranks look very long for smaller bike?
Also can just put small wheels on 24" bike
hey, wo has du die stuiker gekauft 😅
Die hab ich selbst gemacht. Bald gibt es sie auch zu kaufen 😁
Kannst du ein Bunny hop tutorial machen bitte?
vielleicht noch erklären wie man Fahrrad fährt?
nice video! I'm surprised you didn't put your old cranks on the new bike though, are the stock ones good?
Thanks! I simply left them on because they work for now and are lighter than my Saints. I'll likely replace them in the future, though.
what part allowed you to wire the front brake through your fork? awesome video by the way!
That's the Inspired Headlock System V1 :)
Good thing i found this again! I was about to replace my broken 24 inch frame with 972mm wheelbasr. And i found a 955mm wheelbase frameset. The only thing is it made of cromo steel. Will it benefit me as I am only 170 cm tall, despite a kilogram heavier than my longer frame? Thanks
An entire kilogram more sounds like a lot. There's more to the geometry than just wheelbase as well, so I can't really help you without having tried those frames.
@@TheUselessTrials thanks, i will update soon when I got one. seems to be not more than 12kg for the build. My current (cracking) setup is 11kg
Mal schauen, was sich machen lässt ;)
Hi I'm 184cm and thinking about getting a trial bike. Would 22" or 24" be recommended?
24 for sure, but if you want a really BMXy feel, you could make the 22 work with the right bar and stem combo.
You should make your own bike.
Oh this is so dope ! How are you finding the 22 inch vs the 24 ? Do you reckon it`s a good combo for skate parks instead of 24 inch one ?
Hey man! I'll try to answer both your comments here. The differences between the Arcade and Fourplay are noticable. The Arcade feels a little roomier, but also has some steeper angles, making it more aggressive in some ways. The 22" bike is a lot shorter than those bikes and mainly works for riders below 1.75 m tall. I (at 1.70 m) ride it with a longer stem and high bars to make it fit. The advantage of the shorter bike is that it's much easier to spin and control for me, as I always felt like the bigger bikes didn't quite work for me. I don't ride skate parks much, so I can't tell you which bike works better there, but I've seen plenty of people ride skate parks well on the 24" bikes. If you're not very tall, the 22 should work just as well. Be aware of the low gear ratios on trials bikes, which aren't ideal for skate parks, though.
@@TheUselessTrials Dude you are a legend ! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer all that ! I`m 1.78m tall so I think I will probably get a 24 arcade sometime next year :) I`m riding a 26 dirt jumper anyway as a dirt/street/skate park machine, so I think a 24 arcade will complement my street trials itch nicely ! I think a fourplay or flow would be more trialsy than street, where as the arcade is a bitmore street oriented but still trials capable :D Best of luck sir and looking forward to more of your vids :) Cheers!
TheUselessTrials gerade erst deine Antwort gesehen :D
Cool. What do you think, can it be suitable for a skatepark, ramps, fanbox, I mean like bmx but 22 inch?
The gear ratio is a bit low for skateparks, but it feels closer to a BMX bike than any other trials bike does.
@@TheUselessTrials thanks
im confused now, im 15 and 170cm and im not sure if i should buy a 22" or 24"
You're probably going to be taller than 170 relatively soon, so the bigger bike might be better. If you're a beginner, the bigger bike won't hold you back, since learning the basics works the same on every bike.
If you want a very BMXy ride, the 22 inch is an option.
@@TheUselessTrials thanks for the help, I'm gonna buy a 24" then
On your old bike's front fork, there's japanese "マックスのバイク". Do you like Japan?
Yes, Japan's culture and the language are very interesting!
hey max how do you get parts for your bike such as inner tubes and tires
I'll check my local bike shop for tubes, and if they don't have them, they're available online just like any other size. 24-inch tubes would work as well.
For tyres, there's some choice in 22"-BMX tyres.
Would you also recommend this bike for a 1,83m rider?
Not really. You'd have to put on a really long stem, and that would probably make it ride weirdly. I'm not 100% sure though, I need to let someone tall try mine.
hi TheUselessTrials - is it normal to have some rubbing sound of the disc brakes when aligning them? took me quite some time to get them right but is it normal even if you have a little?
also how do you get the chain as tight as possible? from your video looks like you only had to tighten one side but i had to do both plus the chain still sags a little...
What bike do you have? The chain tensioning system on my Flow is fairly simple, you just have to tension the drive side and then adjust the other until the wheel is straight.
Rubbing discs are normal if your discs are bent. You can only perfectly align the caliper by looking at the air gap between the disc and pads and adjusting one bolt at a time.
@@TheUselessTrials i got exactly the same 22" as you. I realise with the chain tension, i believe my wheel needs to go back a bit more slightly as the bolts are dead center (which isn't giving the chain enough tension as its still a little lose even with the tension drives adjusted!) and i don't think its as tight as your chain looks in this video......and i still need to readjust my disc brakes again...fair bit of figuring stuff out if you have never done much messing about with bike parts before. Many thanks for the response & look forward to your next videos!
Any tips to help with fakie nose manuals ?
Practice, practice, more practice. That's pretty much all there ist to them.
Awesome bike dude ! Haha so cool ! Can I ask you, can you make us a return about our lastest video (that's a new type of video for us) ? English subtiles are availables. Thanks and have a nice day !
What seat is that?
Where do you geht this nice inspired decals ?
I make them myself :)
CAN i buy your old bike?please i need street trial bike but i havent hot lot of money jist only frame
I need it for different projects, sorry. But it wouldn't exactly be cheap anyways.
Please do more videos i have UA-cam only fór your chanel you are best
How much
How can i bike this one
How tall are you mate?
How much cost ur bike bro
Where can i buy this?
Tartybikes.co.uk, but most trials bikes are low on stock due to the pandemic.
How tall are you?
How can I get this bike ?
Tartybikes.co.uk
I have 170 cm better choice is 22 or 24 for me?
If you won't grow much anymore, then 22". Depends on the riding you want to do as well.
@@TheUselessTrials thanks
TheUselessTrials Was fährst du sonst?

An insane amount of packaging on a bike built to be bulletproof, & which will get scratched & bumped fairly quickly. People are getting used to excessive/pointless packaging, which is sad.
I'm with you on this one!
Hey... what if you used the code useless100...
You'd get their whole stock for free... obviously.
😂
@@TheUselessTrials Also laut Inspired irgendwie nicht😝
instagram.com/p/B54-KcXl-by/?igshid=o80x6tnrpnhf
Wenn es da steht, muss es stimmen.. ;)
Can I have your old bike??
learn a bunnywhip
rip your fourplay
Can I have your old Bike?
can you give me you're old bike please I will subscribe to you😇
